Back in Bangkok for the last five nights of my vacation. This time, I am staying once again at the familiar Ibis Styles Silom. I do like a modern room, so I’ll settle for a slightly smaller room, as some forum members suggest. For me, it is more than big enough. In the evening, three forum members and I were supposed to meet up for dinner at G's. However, more joined us during dinner, and eventually, there were seven of us. It turned out that many forum members were in town. A number had individual plans for the evening and had arranged to meet up with guys (regular or new). So, just as some forum members dropped by, others went their separate ways. We had a few more drinks at Midnight Bar, where several forum members brought their boy of the night along as well. In Phnom Penh, I stayed at the Arthur & Paul Resort (A&P). Here too, the rule applies: you get the lowest price by booking directly with the hotel. This is in contrast to Bangkok, where, strangely enough, I often find a lower price for a hotel through a booking site like booking.com or trip.com. The new Phnom Penh airport is beautiful, by the way. A very large, beautifully shaped roof. I find the architecture very beautiful. See photo. Unfortunately, the airport is quite far from the city. It was a drive of well over 45 minutes to my hotel. It has been many years since I stayed at A&P. Before COVID. Because during COVID, they closed for a renovation period. The hotel rooms on the first floor have disappeared. There are only five rooms left on the second floor. Where there used to be hotel rooms on the first floor, there is now a locker room, a cruising area, and two beautiful massage rooms. On the ground floor, where there used to be a small massage room, there is now a new dry sauna. With a large window. When you are in the sauna, you see all the guys walking past through the cruising area. Very nicely done. There is a virtual tour video on the internet where you can see everything. See below. The hotel is well-maintained and luxurious. Highly recommended. And the sauna and cruising area are busy with visitors from outside. It can get crowded when the sun goes down. Nice. The massages are also very good. In luxury rooms with a comfortable massage table. There are currently five massage guys working at the hotel. I saw three of them immediately on Grindr (see photo). And they are willing to do more than just massage... You can communicate pleasantly with them in English and their massage skills are good. The staff at A&P are all friendly, like to chat, and are very helpful. The massage guys are also the ones who take your suitcase to your room for you. So I had already received the first massage offer and had already touched, cuddled, and kissed a bit before I had even unpacked my suitcase. Lol A fellow forum member stayed two nights when I was also there, at the hotel next to A&P. So it was nice to be able to meet up again for food and drinks. Over two evenings, we went to ToolBox Bar, Space Bar, and Blue Chili. They were all very fun and sociable. Naturally, the muscular guys at Space Bar appealed to me the most. The drag show at Blue Chili was very entertaining, and the atmosphere among the visitors was energetic. If I remember correctly, some time ago there was something written on the forum about Side bar in Bangkok. The cruising bar that also do shows. The domestic departures terminal is very small. Check in and security very smooth, but than you end up is small waiting area with only one small shop with limited choice of food and drink. Would have expected a bit more of this new modern big airport. International departures might be a different kind of story, no idea. I wrote this about my experience on Sunday evening. On Monday, however, there was hardly anyone cruising in the sauna and steam room. Tuesday was busy again. Although it started a bit later, it was quite busy from 7 p.m. onward. So it seems that the number of cruises at MEN's Resort varies somewhat depending on the day. I'm writing this as I'm at Siem Reap airport waiting for my flight to Phnom Penh for another part of my adventures and travel...

I'll be there! Arriving from Cambodia Saturday afternoon.

After a two-hour flight from Kuala Lumpur, I arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This was my first time using the new airport. Everything went very smoothly (immigration and baggage claim), and outside the building are three different telecom company offices where you can buy a SIM card with internet very cheaply. The new airport is so far from the city! It took me an hour to reach my hotel. There's a very nice new road for most of it, but the speed limit there is only 60 km/h. That's not very fast. I arrived at the MEN'S Resort hotel. After settling into my room, I went to relax by the pool. Between five and six, many men entered the resort to use the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and cruising area. A mix of older Western tourists and young Khmer boys. The dimly lit steam room seemed particularly popular for cruising. The lockable cabins were also frequently used. Nudity is not permitted in or around the pool. In the cruising area, including the steam room, jacuzzi, etc., nudity is permitted. Men walk around with a small towel. Some with nothing underneath, but many with underwear on. Just to be clear: anyone not staying at the resort can still use the facilities for a small entrance fee. Massages are also available and can be booked through reception. Peak cruising time is between about 7 and 8:30 PM. After 9 PM, it completely empties out. So it's a relatively short window to "peak"... Haha. Even I, as a somewhat chubby 45-year-old man, had some guys interested because there was some touching here and there, especially in the steam room. Sometimes subtle, sometimes not so subtle. Since it had been years since I last visited Kuala Lumpur, I decided to stop over there for two nights. I stayed at the Ibis Styles Bukit Bintang. The location is great, right on the food street, which gets very lively in the evenings. The hotel has the advantage that you don't need a key card in the elevator (there is a card reader, but it doesn't work). So you can let young people up to your room without having to pick them up downstairs. Otherwise, I was a bit disappointed with the hotel. I've stayed at Ibis Styles hotels in several cities, including Bangkok's Silom, but this one in Kuala Lumpur really doesn't meet the standards you expect from this brand. Not that there was anything particularly wrong, but with an Ibis Styles, expectations are somewhat higher than what this hotel delivers. Not only about how the hotel and rooms look, but also with regards to choices.at breakfast buffet that were limited in my opinion. As soon as you turn on Grindr in Kuala Lumpur, the messages start pouring in. Plenty of choice. Both free offers and moneyboys. And both from good-looking guys. In my case, bottoms eagerly looking for tops. According to one of the guys, Kuala Lumpur has a surplus of bottoms and not enough tops. Maybe that's why I was so popular. And that's worth the peace of mind. And is was good I did book that flight as a precaution. As for more destinations in meantime ticketprices went up.

Agree. So I don't complain about cancelled flights or uncertainty. But when you cancel a flight, make it easy to request a full refund. Still now, if I try to cancel the booking it's charging me a cancelation fee! While the flight is officially cancelled also in the systeem. So something goes wrong. And I read online everybody is having this problem. Qatar Airways should have this cleared by now somehow with IT.

On my second day, the afternoon was spent relaxing by the pool at Le Méridien Hotel. It was a wonderful place. The water was just the right temperature for me. It cools you down a bit when you step in, but it doesn't feel cold. I had dinner at Pepper Lunch. They have several locations in Bangkok, including the Silom Complex. I don't think I've ever read about it on the forum. It's simple but delicious food, in my opinion. Some might consider it a fast-food restaurant, but I really like the beef pepper rice. Especially in terms of value for money. For less than 10 euros, I had the jumbo (large) beef pepper rice with an iced tea. Meanwhile, a British guy had contacted me on Grindr. Looks like it. I completely understand that in these circumstances, it's impossible to predict what will happen. When flights will resume. Cancellations will occur. But if they say you can cancel for free, make sure it's possible. Through Manage Booking, you'll simply be charged a cancellation fee instead of a full refund. I'll wait patiently and contact them later. Hopefully, when their customer service has calmed down a bit. Off course you did. Sometimes when I write something I can predict your reaction to it.

Never had such a stressful start to a holiday... While I was on the train to the airport (the travel time from my home to the airport is over two hours), I saw that the plane that was supposed to fly me from Amsterdam to Doha was still in Doha. According to Qatar Airways, the delay would be about five hours. With a three-hour layover in Doha for my flight to Bangkok, I was already getting a bit grumpy. I wouldn't make that connection. But the closer I got to the airport, the more negative the news became. Missile attacks in Doha and the surrounding region. Check-in wasn't open yet at the scheduled time. I had to come back in an hour because there was still no news about whether the flight would even go ahead. And the delay had now increased to eight hours. Just before the hour was up, I received an email from Qatar Airways. My flight had indeed been canceled. My gut feeling told me I had to act quickly and find an alternative flight. Because many people will do that. I managed to book the last seat on a direct KLM flight at a reasonable price. Departure in about three hours. Perfect. Go straight to check in. In the past, I always avoided direct flights from Europe to Bangkok. Sitting on a plane for twelve hours straight seemed like a real nightmare. And indeed, it was twelve long hours. Economy class. There was plenty of legroom, and the food tasted good. But still. Eventually, I couldn't quite figure out how to sit anymore. I started to get a bit of back pain. One advantage: despite the departure time being later than my original flight with Qatar, I arrived in Bangkok hours earlier because it was a direct flight. Arrival in Bangkok went very smoothly. There were no lines at all at immigration. I was able to walk straight through. And by the time I'd gotten money from the ATM and purchased a SIM card, my suitcase was already on the conveyor belt. I reached Silom by taxi (fixed 600baht including toll) without any traffic jams. And when I tried to check in at Le Méridien around noon, they already had a room available for me. Wonderful. A bit of positivity after a stressful start to the day. A short nap turned into a few hours' sleep. And even after that, I felt tired. Of course, I'd turned on Grindr in the meantime. Among others, a muscular freelance masseur showed up. After work as a personal trainer, he'd be able to come by at 10:30 p.m. But whether I'd still be up for it, as tired as I felt... But they're less likely to wander between the stalls and enter the bar than on the adjacent soi, which has several well-known gay bars. I think Atlas's location was much better in that regard. But I assume the rent is lower in the new location? Anyway, I hope the White Cat is open again when I'm in Bangkok in the coming weeks. I'm really curious!

Don't worry. I am 45 and I would not think about going to a club in Europe anymore. But in Bangkok I still feel in place and welcome when doing to gay club.
