Programa Pricing 2018 Version
SolaceSoul replied to sanddunes's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
No one is suggesting that the Brazilian garotos should be paid New York escort prices. But this persistent argument over what is basically a $6 to $12 difference — mostly from tourists, visitors — seems petty AF. Rates for programa have increased slightly in the last decade but that increase hasn’t exactly kept up with the rate of inflation or America’s rising Dow Jones Index. Perspective, people, perspective. -

The description is going to be the standard “good looking, fit, all-American” vagueness. The confidence of mediocre gringos is quite staggering. -

If that were truly the case, then this portion of your statement was totally unnecessary: ”It’s also annoying to see the same garoto later with a local older/overweight/whatever client and thinking that they are charging that client less than me.“ Why would it bother you if an older or overweight client is charged less than you? It has already been discussed ad nauseum here that locals and long-time regulars get favored treatment. But being perturbed by favored treatment towards an older or fatter client seems to be coming from a personal place for you. Re: getting sex, you don’t have to prove to me or anyone that you can get it without paying. I couldn’t care less how you get it. My point is that, for a multitude of reasons, we sex tourists choose to pay for it. The WHY someone is paying versus why someone else might be is for each person to work out. What another client does, what a garoto does for or with that client, or what another client pays has little to do with me. Obsessing over that is pointless — unless one gets some odd self-esteem boost from knowing they get charged a few dollars less for a programa than some other guy. -

1) Not that a fuck or a massage in a bordello is anything close to a major purchase like a car or a house, but I certainly wouldn’t be dumb enough to overpay double for a car — because I would’ve walked into the dealership having performed research and having the information necessary to know the market value of the vehicle. But if my friend bought a car for 1/2 of what I paid, I would congratulate him on his negotiation skills and due diligence, and maybe be mad at myself for not being as savvy. However, barring fraud or nonperformance, I certainly wouldn’t blame the seller if I agreed to the price. 2) Sometimes you get charged less than someone that you personally don’t find attractive. Sometimes you get charged more. As they say in South Brooklyn, them’s the breaks. 3) $12 was an example to put things into perspective. But the difference between 100 R (a number you keep touting as the standard) and 150 R is about $13 USD. “Being generous” seems like a very odd phrase to use when the difference is $12. It reads like you think you’re doing the service provider a favor, or are tipping beyond their requested fee. Actually, it sounds like a very gringo-ey thing to say. I don’t mean that as an insult, but it’s certainly not a compliment. -

(1) Concerning yourself with what others you conduct business think of you personally sounds like a personal problem. It’s a business transaction. You pay what you can afford and what you feel it worth. The other party asks for what they believe they can get considering variable circumstances (all discussed in other posts above). You have no way of knowing if they think you’re a sucker or not. There are posters here who would lowball a garoto any opportunity they could get. Does that make the garoto a sucker and the client a user? (2) How you view the desirability of othe clients (whether by their age or their weight, as you mentioned here, or perhaps other external factors) is also another personal issue. A payboy sauna is not a mating ritual like a singles bar or a swipe-left Grindr or Tinder app. Garotos are there to make money, not a love connection. You may believe that you’re physically attractive or irresistible, but the fact remains is you are there because you have to pay for it, just like the fat old guys. This board just had a conversation about how insensitive it is that certAin posters consistently remarking that some clients may not be as beautiful as others. The flip side of that is that some posters consistently remark that they pay less because they are somehow better looking than the average client. It’s like some really weird psychological affirmation — when the irony is we are all proactively paying for it. 3) I have a hard time squaring paying what amounts to a measly extra $12 for sex as “being generous”. You’re not exactly donating to the Res Cross. -
What ever happened to Calvin Klein?
SolaceSoul replied to mvan1's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
^^^ IMHO, Carlos from Stella’s was SO much better looking than that guy. -
Yes, if you can understand Brazilian Portuguese slang and casual speak (I am still learning), you will hear it.
-
“tô” is a casual written word short for “estou”, which of course means “I am” (the present indicative version of “to be”, as opposed to the more permanent “sou”). tô = estoutá = estátamu = estamostão* = estão

Yes.

Years ago, CK met a Dominican on the island that he liked named Carlos (not sure if that’s his real name). I believe he may have actually met him at the defunct strip club cum hustler bar Stella’s, but not sure of the exact origin of their love affair. CK did what CK does best: he wooed him with visions of stardom as the next face of the brand, wash, rinse, repeat. The boy did do maybe one or two brief underwear ads for him, but then he did something that CK did not like — maybe he just sneezed the wrong way — and poor (literally and figuratively) Carlos was out on his fanny. He ended up back at Stella’s, demanding (but not necessary getting) high prices because he was a CK boy. That was probably 3 dozen CK boys ago. I don’t think I’ve seen CK in person since those days. But to answer your question, maybe he settled into a monogamous, loving relationship? And maybe I’m really LL Cool J. -
In Google Translate, vc is translated correctly to you, and bj is suggested as beijo.

Rio Belo Horizonte May 18 "green eyes" trip
SolaceSoul replied to pauleiro's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I have a set of real Cariocan brothers that I get with on the regular when in Rio. I never do them together, but they always want me to make sure that if I hire one, I hire the other during my trip. They are very competitive and practically joined at the hip. They aren’t garotos, but they are / we’re gogo boys. -
Cute twink in Rio at MR and Pointe
SolaceSoul replied to Tomcal's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I don’t find twinks even remotely attractive, but I must give you props for that response! -
Can you share a specific incident that occurred recently, either to you or to someone you know, and where? This post is too vague.

Sounds like “urine” a puddle of trouble! i am not even sure I know what translates to “golden shower” in Brazilian Portuguese. “Chuvelo dourado”? I doubt it. Did you say anything that sounded like “fazer xixi”, “urinar” or “mijar”?
-
Yet another reason why garotos prefer to deal with local clients.
-
If you were a local worker, would it make more sense for you to pay attention to your steady, sure, well-paying client who will return every week or so and lavish you with tips and gifts, or make yourself available to some foreign gringo Schmoe who you may not see (or get muitos reais from) ever again, or at the most frequent, months or years away? ”Annoying”? To you, perhaps. Sensible and smart business, for them — sim. Plus, are those local guys discussing them and sharing info about them all over the world on the Internet? Another thing to consider.

The SAME bag? Probably some retail queen with access to deep-discounted product in that label. Nice. He’s got game, though. Don’t hate the player! Everyone’s got to work their best angle.

Not completely different. It happens in Rio, although admittedly, not nearly as much. In 2015, I visited 117 and in walked in one of the best looking men I had ever seen. He never changed clothes, went to the back bar area, met with and drank with a client for about 15-30 minutes, then left with him. He was a vision that I never thought I’d get to see again. A good friend was traveling to Rio as I was leaving. We compared sauna notes. He mentioned seeing the same guy with the same description, doing the very same thing as zi viewed — no change of clothes, having a drink with one completely clothed client, then leaving the sauna with him. A few months later, through several mutual connects, I ended up connecting with this garoto on social media, and we talked behind the scenes (DM / PM). On my next visit to Rio, I arranged for him to meet me at the sauna and he was fully Clothed. As agreed previously, I brought him a nice trinket that he wanted from the USA. I was able to convince him to drop trou and join me in a suite (but in retrospect, admittedly, it didn’t take much convincing). Fast forward to today, he visit various saunas in Europe as well as does trips with clients. But he has been known to work at 117 — in a towel. Maybe I ruined him? LOL

Of course, it seems foolhardy to me — but the ones who go this route aren’t exactly about the long term. They just want to trick some new “classy” dick. All of these observations are interesting to discuss, but the overwhelming majority of posters here aren’t the “big baller” type where money is no object. And they aren’t traveling to Brazil and all parts of Latin and South America to break the piggy bank (or cash out their IRAs) for some garotos. If someone is traveling on a retired teacher’s budget (nothing wrong with teachers, just using that as an example), and is constantly haggling with GPs over whether a programa should be $100R or $120R — the difference is basically only 6 US dollars — what makes one think that he will land a garoto who is clearly only there for “exclusive high-end” clients?

My more randy straight buddies fake their wealth and career position for new pussy all the time. Stupid, naive bitches who look for the “wrong things” when trying to determine wealth (flashy jewelry, fast car, the latest designer clothes, etc.) will fall for this. Every. Single. Time. Sone gay men do this too — actually a lot more than we would think. The garoto with his nose in the air mentioned in an above post by Sanddunes that asked him what he did for a living, what kind of car he drove, etc., seems like he may be one of those who would fall for the “banana in the tailpipe” — a flashy con job. As the PT Barnum saying goes, theres a sucker born every minute!

Oh, I agree with you. But paranoia can be a strong motivator — and things are much different in the digital age, where anything can be recorded at any time. Proof is no longer needed to ruin a reputation or deter potential employers from hiring. Besides, all it really takes is a good smear campaign at discussion groups on the Internet — and The Wayback Machine at archive.org is forever. Just a few years ago (maybe 10-15), some aspiring actors, singers and models in certain parts wouldn’t be seen at gay bars and clubs for fear of it destroying their career ambitions. It isn’t really that much different than this.

As I mentioned above, this is The Second Oldest Trick In The Book. There are plenty of network / fashion / film / music industry executives that promise these boys and girls the industry and the world at their feet, just to get some thrills in the sack, then move on to the next conquest. Some actually do deliver on a few minor, rarely major, hookups. This is common of all sexual orientations (look no farther than the creepy crawly fugly but once very powerful Harvey Weinstein for a straight example). The majority don’t end up setting any big screens or international runways on fire. The more common route is maybe a hefty allowance or luxury gifts and trips, with a few small bit roles or ad campaigns thrown in for good measure. But the dream lives on.
