How would you have received feedback from Chiang Mai guys had you not been enquiring about @aaroninatl ’s activities there? If you find aaroninatl’s posts and behavior triggering there is no need to continuously engage.

I would normally tap the driver’s shoulder if he starts speeding up and politely ask him to slow down. Most of them will follow. When drop-off, I usually give them an extra 20 baht, they will be more happier
before the ride, I’ll ask for a helmet. Some drivers will offer you one, some not. So you have to make sure you have your helmet for your safety. At least!! Haha. I know it might not be the cleanest, but you can always bring a shower cap.

If you book a guide, it’s a good idea to extend this into visiting one of the host bars @musgrave mentioned which are also on my list of places to check out. My mistake the first time was going solo without a local friend. Wow, so much processed food loaded with carbs and sugar. There's often a fruit cart parked in front of 7-11s in Thailand and you should check it out sometime. Guava has a low GI and Thai ones are fresh and crunchy but go easy on the plum powder as it's loaded with sugar. They're called ฝรั่ง or farang, spelled and pronounced exactly the same way as the commonly used descriptor for westerners. Make sure you get the fresh ones and not the ones that have been soaked in syrup.
Unripe mango, pomelo, white dragon fruit, tangerines and Thai jujube (they look like green apples) are also good options for diabetics but, as always, everything in moderation. Next to the cool season, June to August is my favourite time of the year in Thailand being the main fruit season. Longans, lychees, longkong, rambutans (Surat Thani is famous for its rambutans), mangosteens...again, in moderation. I was in Hatyai last weekend and there was still a wide variety of local fruit so you're not too late. Durian is available all year round now; I may be biased but I prefer Malaysian durian to Thai durian. 😅 Be careful of dried fruit: high in fibre but high GI too.

I don’t regularly use the apps in Thailand… in fact, never have. I want to try to use the apps to attract MBs to approach me as many have recommended. Can you share your tips on how I should set up my profile, what to say/not to say to attract what I’m looking for, and what kind of photos should I share on my profile. Then what’s to process or the “dance” that I should follow once I get a ping. How do I negotiate the deal and how soon do I bring it up.
im planning on using Grindr but are there others that I may consider that are better for this purpose?

I may need to add a visit to Pattaya to my upcoming trip. When I was in Bkk a few months ago there was an absolute stunning shirtless guy working as a greeter in front of one of the bars, we got to talking and he was Russian. If someone of his calibre is available to bring back to my hotel, I wouldn't think twice about dropping 10,000 for the privilege ;) Any Pattaya locals got any input about the Russians working the bars there?

for sage advice we need to look for somebody wiser but I do exactly what you do i.e. not name any service providers unless I'm 123.84% sure they wouldn't mind revealing their true identity at work i.e. nick or name.

This is my trip report for our two weekends in Bangkok. We are an older married couple and when we come to Bangkok we invoke the Bangkok Rule in our relationship, and have a great time at the massage spas. We don’t go to saunas or other bars, though I’m hoping we get to go to some of the drag bars this trip.

Maybe their exchange rate is poor.

They are definitely not eating at Izakaya pubs, or at chain restaurants like Sushiro, Kura sushi, Hama, etc.
They don't just serve sushi - most of which I don't eat - but also lots of meat, noodles, western desserts, etc. Also, they have innovative types of 'sushi' like roast beef, chicken and corn, mini hamburger sushi, etc.
A large beer is around  450 yen (100 baht), a plate of food with 2 items is 120 yen (25 baht as opposed to  166 baht in Perth!)
I'd love to know what people find expensive in Japan!
