I arrived in Medellin on a late flight at almost midnight and I was already a little hungover from a night in Cancun prior and met up with a regular there, so I went to the airbnb after clearing Immigration (no line) and Priority bags came out fast, got an Uber and straight to the apt to unpack, catch up on messages and SLEEP.

SO I knew Wed night I'd be busy since I was well rested... one of my regulars for a few years came over, the one with the big ass... he's apparently vers now and after a few drinks, I said you must have someone to invite over and he did, and boy was he a wild, fun one..... when he arrived we had some more drinks and played a drinking game with cards, that require you to do truth or dare stuff and some involve taking of pieces of clothes, taking an extra drink, etc....

Then I don't know how long we had sex for, but they left at 630am, just about the time another guy I knew just finished work and showed up minutes after they left, I was still in the lobby of the airbnb.... so we continued until about almost 11am I think it was....

Many steps involved if you want to utilize a dispensing station; not designed as a tourist entry point, as they are predicated on you already being in the health care system. This means registering and logging in to gov.br (identity layer) and e-saúdeSP app and its SPrEP component (health layer). Such requires a CPF that foreigners can obtain with some effort, and likely a local SIM for SMS functionality, uploading a recent HIV negative test, receiving QR prescription code, etc. The required teleconsultation prolly requires Portuguese language proficiency; on that step I am not clear whether it’s like FaceTime/Zoom or a series of form-filling. 
A better bet is to bypass all of the above prerequisites and attend via walk-in the staffed Jorge Beloqui Prevention Station at Metro República. Bring your passport and local address … CPF number if you have one. Rapid-test screening and dispensing provided. Much easier to use your phone translation app in person at point of care, if needed. If you are granted only 30 days of supply it’s not such a big imposition to zip back to República for refill.

Rio is the chosen one. Right now, I am struggling with the Argentine bureaucracy to get some docs I need for my Brazilian residency. Then I have to go to the US to do the same. If there are no delays, I should be arriving to Rio by the end of March to look for an apartment to rent.

If you know someone who works with the government, you can get a huge discount with their CPF.
I was with a Brazilian friend at a pharmacy, and he said to use his ex's CPF (police or some gov department); my original total R600++ became R100++ with the CPF.

I was Porto Alegre last July and again in December (first two weeks) and FloridaRob succinctly nails it. But, Sauna Lux varies more from week to week than any GP sauna in Brazil that I know. 

In December, the hot, young (18-20), northern Italianish GPs from July had vanished. But a new handsome, fresh, eager, untatted, 19yo GP of German descent more than took their place in my daily cabin. 

One day in December, out of the blue, three or four still handsome guys who worked at Lux back when it was Plataforma (15-20 years ago) showed up. I went with a couple for old time's sake.

Thursday seemed to be especially popular. Sunday was surprisingly slow. 

About 8-12 older local men sit and drink for hours in the smoking area. Many come every night. I do not remember seeing any of them ever going to a cabin. Other local clients arrive, pick their GP, and soon head back to their wives I suppose.

The steam room can randomly be quite a scene. One night a few weeks ago before closing, I watched through the steam as a two muscular GP tops sandwiched and pounded a horny twink GP. They all needed badly to get off. I don't think they realized I was there. 

Yes, sadly, Mezzaninu is absolutely totally gone. 

One more observation:
I like variety and do not need a large selection of GPs from a specific niche (e.g., minimum inches, height, skin shade, BMI, musculature, tats). I think those who do, like most of my more focused friends, are better off sticking with the larger saunas in Rio and SP. But I still like the unpredictable, cozy scene in Porto Alegre where I always have fun.

City Vibe: Clean, organized, with a European feel. Lots of green space and felt pretty safe.... I'd come back here again.
Gay Nightlife:
Club 773 Sauna – Younger/rougher crowd, good cruising. Best nights: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday.
Opinião Sauna – One of the oldest in Brazil, has a solid following and still delivers. Best nights: Wednesday, Saturday.

City Vibe: Southern flavor, kind of a blend between Brazilian and Argentine influences.

Sauna Lux – Old-school setup, but surprisingly lively. Met a cutie there who was new to the sauna scene and… let’s just say he was enthusiastic. 😉
