  1. Other comments and suggestions welcome. I’m back in Bangkok end October.
  2. An excellent report. Is it on one level or multiple levels? I haven’t been to Lagoa in its present location but I have heard a number of complaints about the multiple levels and stairs. Also is it in a safe area?
  3. Thank you. The Sofitel So is apparently very gay friendly reading TripAdvisor reviews although it does get rather mixed reports. Apparently it has seen better days.
  4. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs have had similar warnings about Thailand for as long as I have been travelling there. It’s one of the most popular travel destinations for Australians. I agree the warnings are overkill.
  5. Further comments/recommendations welcome.
  6. Yes I found their site. Nut is there and of course ❤️Nicky❤️ but no Joey.
  7. On my last trip to Bangkok I paid a visit to the Hyatt to check out the pool and gym. I went to the toilet and noticed a few guys hanging around the shower and steam area which I interpreted as cruising.
  8. Can anyone elaborate on the Grand Hyatt Erawan?
  9. Is this in comparatively recent times? I read a TripAdvisor report that the had installed cctv camera in the change area to prevent what the contributor suspects was to limit “gay frolicking”.
  10. Perhaps a go go bar full of Nicky of Moonlight fame lookalikes.
  11. Are you talking about the Sukhothai?
  12. What about the Sukhothai? I’ve heard the hotel is very gay friendly.
  13. This is a very good question. Keep the suggestions coming.
  14. So gullible of me. Ai takes some getting used to.
  15. I know I’ve been there many times. I was thinking of those beautiful muscle boys that Tawan was famous for in days of old.
  16. One further thought. Perhaps the absolute ideal would be the boys from the old Tawan in a massage venue like the old Hero behind a glass partition where clients could peruse at leisure. You have to be around in that era to understand what I mean.
  17. What did the boys charge?
  18. To answer the original question the old Tawan Bar as I knew it in the very early 2000’s. There was a large stable of stunning muscle boys, they were playful and would approach. No mobile phones to distract them and were totally focused on the customers. A wonderful era I remember with great affection.
  19. But how available are they to “mature aged” white Caucasians?
  20. A helpful and thoughtful response. I traveled to São Paulo 9 times between 2005 and 2016 and have very fond memories of Lagoa and the old Fragata. As I said I have not been to the new Lagoa and have read mixed reports on forums such as this in the past couple of years. Regarding the safety issue I agree with you 1000% as someone who was mugged in Rio at knifepoint in 2005 an event permanently etched in my memory. The other negative with Brazil is the reintroduction of visas an absolute pain. Again thank you.
  21. I am contemplating a trip later in the year but can’t decide between Barcelona or São Paulo. Another way of asking the question is Thermas in Barcelona v Lagoa in São Paulo. I have been to São Paulo 9 times the last time 8 years ago and have never been to Lagoa in its current location. I have been to Barcelona about 5 times most recently last year. Comments by seasoned travellers who have sampled both in recent times much appreciated.
