  1. Yes, rooms are available in the Complex. Just have to ask at the bar.
  2. More bullshit! Do you believe everything you read, especially from an unreliable source?
  3. i can't say that I received any undue respect or admiration, because of my age, from anyone in particular in Thailand. Although the Chinese, Russians and Indians are, in general, rude.
  4. 100 Baht/day = 3000 Baht/month; $100/month = 3500 Baht. Not a big difference and there accommodations available in that range, although limited.
  5. Menaughty, I hope you are feeling improved and on the way to recovery.
  6. Simply fact is there are no aliens, from another world, visiting earth.
  7. In Pattaya I don't recall if any massage shops list a minimum tip. However you can assume a minimum tip equal to what the massage house fee is. Others may say much lower! For a happy ending massage a tip to the masseur of 1000 is considered quite acceptable. Of course it could be higher or lower depending on your activities and how pleased you were.
  8. Guess I am guilty of giving tips to dancing boys just because I like them! The boys are on stage for hours at a time and may not get an "off" so what is the problem in giving them a tip? I doubt that they have a work ethic that says "no tip accepted". Although I do touch the merchandise as I slip them the tip. 😜
  9. I don't use apps however a friend who is proficient at app cruising (Hornet, HeeSay, Grindr, etc) tells me there are a number of scams from the "boys" using these apps. One is some of the boys refused to say how much money they will accept which may mean they will show up, do the act and then demand a high fee. Another is the boys will not give their ID/Age if asked and will simply shut down the discussion. Friend believes this is some sort of scam to entrap the customer in some sort of undercover activity with a minor, either official or unofficial. Has anyone else noticed this or similar behavior?
  10. Many of your questions can be answered on aseannow.com forum if you want to try it. Yes, true you don't need health insurance if you apply for a Non O visa when in Thailand. In Pattaya a reputable agent is Maneerat Visa, Pattaya 13/2, Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150. This location is commonly referred to as Soi Post Office located near Royal Garden.
  11. The New Year spread was excellent! I did my best to eat as much as I could however there was an overabundance of food for those present. The dancers did their best to please the customers and succeeded! 😜
  12. Excellent information, unicorn!
  13. I am aware that condoms are a good preventive measure and the use of doxycycline after sexual encounters is effective in reducing the chances of contracting syphilis; what other preventative measures are recommended?
  14. I am aware of an increase of syphilis infections recently in Pattaya. Easily identified and treated. Pulse Clinic and Swing Foundation can be of great assistance.
  15. Win was quite sick a few months ago and is no longer working at Winner to the best of my knowledge.
  16. It depends on the bar and the circumstances! If you call the boy over to give him a tip then ok to casually touch the merchandise as you deposit the tip in his shorts/jeans. If he is sitting with you then quite ok to check out the merchandise. Some lads will be open to displaying their merchandise while others may be more squeamish. And it always depends on the policy of the bars, some are liberal and others are conservative. Oh, and the obvious, no tip no touch!
  17. Hi Spoon, I thought I met you in Jomtien last year, or was that another person with similar name?
  18. Here is a discussion on mail forwarding on AesanNow forum. Not sure if you can access it or not. Has some informative comments. https://aseannow.com/topic/1313831-mail-forwarding-services-for-americans/#google_vignette
  19. You entered on Visa Exempt which allows 30 days with no Visa. This can be extended by another 30 days once in Thailand.
  20. I have a friend who also uses a re-mailer service. This service scans his unopened mail and sends him a list of what he received. He then can ask that specific mail be opened and contents emailed to him or if necessary they will forward the mail to him. One drawback is his voting address will be in the State where the re-mailer is located. As I understand, you must setup the account with the remailer before you exit the USA.
  21. Yes, I'm sure. I maintain a postal address in USA as do many of my friends and no problems.
  22. You should be able to get all relevant info (W-2s) via electronic mail from Social Security, Pensions, etc, etc. You can tax return electronically. It would be best to maintain a Postal Address in USA with someone you can trust if possilbe. There are mail forwarding services available in USA who can receive your mail and electronically forward any relevant mail to you and can even mail packages to you if required. You should do this prior to leaving for Thailand.
  23. I believe that the long cinemas originally had intermissions so the film reels could be switched. Since the 2000s there was a switch to digital projectors which obviated the need for films.
  24. Another popular, long cinema was Gone With The Wind at 3 hrs. 40 minutes plus a 13+ minute break, overture. And another Civil War cinema, Gettysburg, at 4 hrs. 14 minutes.
