  1. @Latbear4blk you definitely need to check it out. It is good all around. Nice middle floor bar/restaurant and 2 floors of rooms. I kind of like Lagoa more than Rio’s one. It is newer and the rooms are more comfortable than the Rio ones. Also. It may be my impression, but Lagoa tend to have more muscle guys , maybe because SP is bigger
  2. Back when I was in SP and Rio, I used this picture/calendar. I’m very grateful to whoever created it, even though I know it’s not recent. If you are the author I will definitely credit you 👌 Anyway, this is quite accurate. In fact, this is how I managed to visit both 117 and 202.
  3. thanks, @floridarob I've already booked a hotel with free cancellation, but as soon as I find a good Airbnb, I'll go for it. I'm not that picky. Blackout drapes are a must. I agree; I hadn’t thought about that since all the hotels usually have them, but yes, I definitely need pitch-black rooms for sleeping. I'm going on an adventure type of quick trip. I'll spend a week in São Paulo, which is all set, and then a week or a week and a half in Rio. I saw some posts about Carnival somewhere in the forum, and I need to find them again. I'll stay for the first four days of Carnival, because from what I've seen, it gets way too crowded for an old s(lut)oul like me. But I’m sure it will attract a lot of guys from other parts of Brazil, and I’m craving Brazil GP so much. I just saw that post about 117 prices. For some of us, with the strong dollar, it won’t make much difference, but for others, it might. I hope this doesn’t impact attendance.
  4. Hey everyone, AirBnB advice: I’m planning SP and Rio pre-carnival, but I’m thinking of extending my stay to mid-carnival. I’ve never rented an Airbnb before, so I’m looking for some advice on what to look for to find a good and convenient one. As long as it has a good bathroom and good WiFi, I’m all set. I don’t usually take GPs to my room, so that won’t be a deal-breaker either. Any tips on how to pick a good one? I’m considering Copacabana, Ipanema, and even Botafogo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, since this is a SP/Rio thread, should we start a 2025 one?
  5. Thanks @buttercawan Have you been to Showbar? It seems promising. I’ll keep trying to find it on my next trip, but the area is so isolated. I’m usually good at discovering those hidden clubs but this one. Like Taurus, doesn’t have any outdoor signs or numbers, but you can tell immediately that you found it. However, this trip only to Rio , I limited myself to GPs. Somehow, I’ve become accustomed to how hot they are . When I visit those non GP places, they fail to match those GPs This trip I even skipped Taurus, which I liked. Additionally, the saunas are so comfortable that when I visit those sec places with the interactives I find them sweaty and with the lack of showers make me pause and I am saying this being such careless slut . So maybe it was my mood To Sesy rose, the big one wasn’t that appealing to me . I walked right out; I couldn’t handle the atmosphere. I’ve been in all the raunchy movie theaters, but I may have been in a bad mood that day so I didn’t stick around. I went to Seven at 11 am and it was almost empty but you just need that one to make your trip worth. So this 5’2 skinny cutie used me pretty good so I left and headed to beach pretty happy. I bet For my next trip, I might not care as much and visit more of those places.
  6. Thanks all for those reports, @travguy! I thought I was adventurous, but you totally outdid me! 😂 So, the rain in Rio is just something you gotta accept, right? Got it. I didn’t write a report about my last trip in November because it wasn’t anything new to add. But your story made me want to write a short one. I could include one new place I went and how I tried to get to this place called ShowbarMadureira. The first time I took an Uber there, it took almost an hour, but the address was impossible to find. So, I just walked to a McDonald’s and got another Uber to my hotel. The next day, I went during the day, but I couldn’t find it. So, I gave up on that place. Has anyone been there? I could post their Twitter or Instagram if you want. Also, about Sexy Rose, are you referring to the one next to the movie theater in Cinelandia? Because I found a second one. In my case, this was the first one I found. This one is in a shopping mall that has another Sexy Rose, but only as a plain shop on the top floor. So, the girl sent me to the ground floor, where downstairs it was another Sexy Rose. This one was tiny, but I didn’t stay there for long either. I will definitely will check out The Week and that other Sauna BoateCasa Grande. The Week sounds a bit challenging for someone like me, but I’ll definitely give it a try. It doesn’t sound like Club Danger from SP, which is more gay and has some action behind the scenes/stage where the drag show happens It’s a bit random, but one night I went there and found this long and wide hallway in the corner, semi dark, where some people using it as a dark room. Around 10 guys different shapes and ages. But then I Cme back and it was empty so a hit or miss
  7. Yes, it was free cabin day at Point, only on Quarta. I was there this November, at 202 free cabins on a Wednesday, and it was the best day, in my opinion. I'm not usually a big fan of 202, but I still enjoy it as long as I'm in Rio. I'll keep visiting, especially on the free cabin days, where I had such a great time. That Wednesday at Point 202, I had several encounters, but two in particular stand out, and I keep thinking about them. One was with a pretty young guy who I won’t call a "twink," even though he was slim, in his 20s, and had that youthful look. He had a handsome face, a more masculine vibe, and appeared to have more Portuguese roots. The other was a younger guy, more of a twinkling, wearing some of those gold chains. so adorable. I was with both of them twice that day to pick up my leite 😛 . Both experiences were memorable, and they want it to keep going in my hotel but i didnt want that; i just wanted to rest and didnt feel like entering them What can I say? I can’t help it—I’m a sucker for those guys. It just feels right to show them a little extra kindness, especially with those exchange rates To be continued... and 117 on free cabin day was a dream. I think I’ve shared that story somewhere on this forum, or maybe at the other one. But, at least for me, it was amazing. There were so many super hot guys that I didn’t see again, except for that day. I’ll admit, I ate my own words about the free cabin days at both places.
  8. I believe Junior is planning a birthday party for 202 this December. I hope it gets some buzz and people. The only day it gets really packed is Wednesday. The rest of the days I went were almost empty. It’s a shame I had a great time on Wednesday with four cute programs. One of them lived it up at 2 hours from Copacabana, poor boy imagine. He was so hot we repeated it. One those that some may call twink. I sent him home in an Uber. As the Good Samaritan that I am.
  9. Okay, guys, I’m back from my trip to Rio. I’ll give a quick summary now, and once I’m rested (probably while recovering from the post-Thanksgiving stupor), I’ll do a more complete thread, maybe a new one. I had an amazing time overall! Even though it rained for a couple of days, most of the week was beautiful—sunny with nice weather in the low 70s. Paradise. I did a lot of touristy things, but I won’t bore you with the details. I also had a lot of beach time. Interestingly, or maybe because I went early, the gay area of the beach wasn’t as busy as usual. I usually go after 9 PM in Ipanema, including eating at Boteco Belmonte during off-peak hours. I wouldn’t dare try eating there during peak times. As for the Copacabana gay beach, it was so boring that I went once and never went back. Do you guys remember how I didn’t want to fight for rooms during the free room night? Well, I was wrong. I’m glad it was only for one past trip. But 117 was a blast! It was total mayhem, and wow, I had so much fun. It reminded me of the old days when there were so many hot guys that you had to be a hawk to catch the hottets garoto and hottest as body, face and XXL And boy, I did! I put aside any little pride I had and went for the top-tier options. I was ruthless. because there was a lot of competition since there seems to be some type of garoto that only goes that day, and the regulars have the advantage of the culture, language 202 (the free cabin day) was also r\ good, but it’s only great that day—the rest of the days was slow, and I didn't stay to find out if any hot GP showed up. What a shame that Point 202 is so slow, but they are working on having parties, and I think sex shows hopping will increase attendance. Also, the difference in the types of garotos is striking. mostly xxl mulato type, that is fine with me, but I’m wondering if 117 isn’t allowing some types of garoto who aren’t in that crowd. I’m still feeling the hangover and a bit of the blues about leaving behind amazing sex, kisses, soreness, and so many love stories—you know, the half-hour ones, my favorites. I’m already looking into options for February/March, but this time, I’ll be adding SP to the mix!
  10. Okay guys, I’ll be in Rio tomorrow. But I can’t believe it’s raining again. I mean, I could stay indoors all day, jumping from saunas to clubs to restaurants and so on. But why is there so much rain in Rio every time I visit? Meanwhile, NYC is as dry as a kite. So, it’s not me. I hope to have a couple of sunny beach days to relax and enjoy. Fortunately, the exchange rate is excellent. Another issue was that my Brazil SIM card expired and was given to someone else. Consequently, when I attempted to send a test refill to “activate” it, it was sent to the wrong person. Did you all know about this, or was it just my naivety? By the way, I have a TIM Brazil phone. I hope the refill was given to a good cause, perhaps a garoto 🤪
  11. What is the Fatal Model? This is the first time I’ve heard about it. I prefer to meet in person at different places, but so far these are the ones I've bookmarked. Are there any other suggestions? https://garotocomlocal.com. https://www.vivalocal.com. https://fatalmodel.com/ Well, I am responding to my question because I found some additional listing by using the search: garoto de program + the city
  12. Oh, maybe it's because of the Heritage price and the narrow rooms? I will continue staying there. The last time I visited was in April, and it was fine. I love how quiet it is! If San Gabriel didn't have those weird tiny stairs to get to the rooms, I would stay there more often. I found the prices at San Gabriel to be ridiculously cheap, but they are often sold out. I discovered San Gabriel thanks to another Lagoa patron, a Dutch guy. The area around Frei Caneca is beautiful. While some people favor Jardines, I adore how easy it is to walk from Frei Caneca to Avenida Paulista and any of the hotels I listed for Lagoa. I hope you have a great trip! I am eager for mine to arrive in Rio.
  13. Hi @12is12 May I ask what happened with Heritage? It is my hotel to go to in SP. Yes, the rooms are small - ok, very small, but I like how quiet it is, has a great breakfast, and is very convenient to Lagoa. If you like to walk, since it is not that convenient to Uber, it will need to give more turns than necessary. it is an alternative and cheap but comfortable hotel, The San Gabriel, that is equally close to Lagoa and another hotel I stayed at once: L'Hotel PortoBay. Of course, it all depends on the budget. I love that area: Rua Frei Caneca, very close to Lagoa, Consolação, and Paulista. And it has a cute and convenient mall. Also it is pretty gay.
  14. thanks @Xclay i found this page with a lot of places that I haven't heard anyone mention before: https://latenightcruisin.com/parties/parties-2024/latin-america/rio-de-janeiro/ I'm creating an agenda for my trip, as my main focus will be on visiting gay-friendly (GP) places, and non-GP options, and enjoying some beach time. In addition to the locations that some of us have mentioned before, which I've previously visited—like Taurus Bar https://youtu.be/LJqMLWSFRCk and SevenBar https://www.sevencruisingbar.com.br/festa, both of which I enjoyed—I found There are some new places to check it out. I will explore. Most of these are not GP, but I want to check them out since my time at GP venues is limited. They are active only for 5 to 8 Some of these locations may be closed, but I will provide updates on my experiences when I return. SAUNA CHUPPS CLUB at REZENDE STREET, 28 – LAPA (RIO DE JANEIRO) ( this one is intriguing) @saunacarioca NAME: ABERTO TODOS OS DIAS OCCURRENCE: SUNDAY (DOMINGO)TIME: 15H-22H (3PM-10PM) VENUE: SAUNA CARIOCA ADDRESS: RUA BARAO DE GUARATIBA, 20-CATETE (RJ) since I am working from home and while I check all this places, I will start the Rio de Janeiro for newbies and adventourse over 50 and no attitude but to have good time. I haven't touched a guy since April so I am starving 😛
  15. Yes, I went to both 117 and 202, and I’m still figuring out which one I prefer. I just wish they were newer, with better rooms. I read that some people on the forum aren’t fans of the new Lagoa building in São Paulo, but since I didn’t know the old one, I like Thermas setup a lot. It has a nice setup compared to the ones in Rio, especially with the newer rooms and a very nice bar area. I also went to Rio G Sauna, but I didn’t like it there—it’s just not my type of place; it was empty, and the space was so narrow and hard to move around. Taurus, on the other hand, was a lot of fun, though exhausting. It was one of the few places where I had a good time without needing to pay; I don’t exactly have the body (i am a chub) or the usual luck to score in places like that, but Taurus was a blast. I visited a few other places, but I’ll revisit them and report back.
  16. Thanks. Floridarob. I agree that nothing good happens, late at night, mostly because my older self is already tired by then after the gp used my body for pleasure 😛. That’s why I sometimes go to a bar to sit and relax until I feel it’s time to head back to my hotel, grab an Uber, and rest until noon the next day. That’s my usual routine in São Paulo, where there’s not much to do before 2 p.m. except eat and shop. But since this is Rio, I might hit the beach earlier. There’s a wonderful restaurant in Ipanema that makes the best pork sandwich on the planet, and last time, I even found a great group of those that run the spots and rent the chair and umbrella at the beach who treated me like royalty and were very welcoming. I keep going to their spot near the gay beach, which I think is at Post 9. And since i ve been a loner all my life i always know to bring a waterproof pouch/bag to bring my belongings with me when taking a dip. A short one since i am not a waves expert In São Paulo, I went to most of the bars and clubs, with and without table service, and had a great time. I was treated so well there too. In Rio, I went to Club Taurus, which was wild, but after a couple of hours, I was ready for a change of pace. I hope to find a nice lounge-type bar this time to unwind after a day of beach and shopping
  17. Hi everyone. I’m back and finally recuperating from my quad repair surgery. I'm only halfway through my recovery, but I've booked a trip to Rio. I’ll be going the week of the 10th and returning a couple of days before Thanksgiving. I want to give Rio another chance, plus I really need some sun and warmth after resting for the past four months. I will write my usual report. I'm unsure whether to start a new thread or continue in my "Brazil for Newbies" thread. Please let me know your preference. I would be more than happy to share my experience, as thanks to this forum, I had an amazing time and better sex than in my past 40+ years. As much as I love São Paulo, I realized that with such a short amount of time, I should focus on one place. Since I really needed some fresh air, I decided to try Rio and start as a newbie. Finding a hotel on short notice wasn't easy, but I'm glad there's a nonstop flight from NYC to Rio, which also has the best timing. I’ll arrive in Rio around 10:30 AM, unlike other flights with connections that land at midnight or 6 AM. I honestly can’t understand how people managed without direct flights! Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’ll skip talking about the old times with supermodels GP and how dangerous Brazil can be—there’s not much I can do about that, except to be careful. I have a Brazilian phone and a SIM card that I’ll use, and I plan to Uber everywhere. I'm looking for recommendations for a club or bar that attracts a younger, attractive crowd. I believe Le Boy is one such place? I want to explore the younger gay scene in Rio. In São Paulo, it was easy to find clubs and bars with a younger audience where I could enjoy some eye candy and maybe buy a drink for a few hot guys I found that the hot guys in Brazil are way nicer to me than any other place. or maybe I was just lucky.
  18. It did work for me. Actually, glad I checked it out so I find out that GOL for SP and Rio have stopovers. That will work perfectly for me. In my next trip I won’t be able to do it since during the holidays, after November, I had little time available so I am doing the AA NYC Rio direct flight. I will report- if I go, otherwise next year 😕
  19. I started this thread and am unsure if I should start a new one or continue here, as there seems to be some side-tracking. If I post, it’s because I want to share with all of you, so please let me know if I should keep going here or start a new thread for Rio. I’ve realized I didn’t fully appreciate Rio due to the rain and some issues with the saunas. The saunas were a bit worn out, which affected my impression. Plus, the weather didn’t help, so I’ll reserve any judgment for now. I don’t mind places being a bit worn out—I was at the Republic cabins and movie theaters, after all! I’m currently recovering from quad repair surgery, and since I need to rest and take it easy, it wasn’t as bad as I expected. Consequently, I’ve changed all my plans. I’ve canceled my September trip to Brazil and my November trip to Barcelona, and I’m now considering Rio for late October or November. Any tips? I know December is high season, and I want to stay in the States for Thanksgiving. So it would be appreciated since my vacation plans are hanging by a thread due to my leg recovery, and I’m not a kid anymore—quite the opposite. Previously, I focused on São Paulo with a possibility of Rio, but this time I’m considering either skipping São Paulo altogether and staying in Rio or spending some time in São Paulo and then the rest in Rio. I want to enjoy the city and the experiences it offers. I noticed that American Airlines has non-stop flights, which is a plus. I’ve been an American Airlines customer for years, including c.c, but my last trip had poor service. Recently, Delta has been the best option for me. I haven’t had any hookups sex in months so I’ll be quite hungry when I arrive. I would have been better prepared if I were further along in my physical therapy, but I’ll know by mid-September when I can walk without a cane. I’m really looking forward to Brazil—it’s such a great country, and the people there make me feel incredible. Since I was young, I wasn't blessed with looks or charisma, so I haven't had many s, and hookups or dating have always been a struggle for me., but in Brazil, it’s so great. Especially all my times in SP Lagoa—deep kissing, BFE with wild or tender sex. I hope I can find that in Rio. Wish me luck! to be continued...
  20. thanks, @Canadianbtmguy and @buttercawan I tried, and if I include Rio, I always have to stop in São Paulo or another country, like Panama or another Latin American country. If it weren't for my friends waiting for me in Barcelona for my November trip, I would switch to going in October. I might end up doing the same as last time: a round trip to JFK and then taking GOL to São Paulo and Rio. The prices for Brazil are higher compared to last year or when I went in March/April. It’s strange that Rio, one of the biggest tourist cities in the world, doesn't have many direct flights from NYC. I checked flights from Miami to Rio, and the only direct flight from American Airlines is outrageously expensive, starting at $1500 for the economy. I still want to include Rio in my trip because I’ve read so many people in forums discussing their plans for Rio. I thought it would be easy, but it seems like Rio isn’t as easy as it used to be. In April, I paid $40 for a round trip from São Paulo to Rio with an extra leg, so it was easy. I guess I will do the same or forget about Rio. I never thought of taking a bus since it was so cheap before. I’ll let you know how it goes. I already have my BCN flight; it was such a great price to do NYC to BCN I got Premium for 600, and Iberia has 400 tickets. , and I added Zurich for my 17-day Eurotrip.
  21. Well, I thought the driver would be the one giving the first sign. It's kind of hard and potentially dangerous for me to make a move on a driver who might get angry, take me who knows where, or just throw me out of the moving car. Either way, whether the driver initiates or the passenger does, it sounds hot, but I've never been in that situation. I've heard about it but have no clue how to make it happen. I already booked my hotels in those two cities, which can easily be rebooked. I just need to figure out, as I mentioned in the other thread, how to visit both cities easily. Regarding luggage, I don't worry since, over the years, I've learned how to pack in a carry-on and a backpack. I don't kid myself; for those types of trips, I just need the minimum. I'm a very laid-back traveler.
  22. Thanks, @Xclay. Good to know. October is a bit later than my plans. I hope to visit São Paulo/Rio de Janeiro in September and then Barcelona in November. I can see why Rio is a favorite for most people on the Brazil forum, with its many tourist options and at least two GP saunas. However, I enjoy São Paulo, and I have three regular providers there from my past two trips. They are exactly my type and are cool, nice guys to have as regulars. and it helps that, they are also hot and hung tops. Rio hasn't been kind to me. The last time I was there, it rained every day. Only two days were not rainy, but they were very cloudy. The weather prevented me from doing the tourist activities I had planned. It rained so much that I ended up going to the aquarium, which is not really my type of attraction. I wish I knew how to arrange a stopover since flights to Rio almost always stop in São Paulo. That way, I could stay there for a couple of days before heading to Rio and give Rio the proper attention it deserves. So far i have the hotels for all the 3 cities booked and I will make my decision for my Brazil trip this July.
  23. i've never been able to hook up with a taxi driver or Uber driver. It might be exciting, but no, I'm not the type who gets hit on. that used to bother me, but now it doesn't. I'm the one who chooses who I want to be with. I think I'll stick to São Paulo and Rio. It's not that I'm tired of them; quite the opposite, I can't wait to go back. there so much I can do and discover there.I wish I could go every three months, lol, but I can't. I have a bunch of responsibilities here in my city.
  24. I noticed that there are rarely any non-stop flights from NYC to Rio, but there are direct flights to São Paulo. How do you manage to visit both cities? Last time, I booked a flight to Rio (SOL) while in São Paulo. It was pretty cheap and fast. I did JFK to São Paulo, then São Paulo to Rio, then Rio to São Paulo, and finally São Paulo to JFK. Don't be too harsh on me—it was my first time in Rio. Would it be better to do just JFK to São Paulo to Rio and then back to JFK?l from Rio? Any recommendation? A This time, I will have only 10 days, including a weekend, and I really want to visit Rio again.
  25. Reading this post, I’m starting to understand the question, "Why is he constantly in Brazil?" I've never thought I would be asked that since I've been single/divorced for five years. But when I mentioned that I already booked Rio and São Paulo for September, I got the "AGAIN?" This made me smile because I read about OP’s predicament. Luckily, I was able to brush it off, and people didn’t pay much attention to my non-answer. I also have the "loner" label. It’s funny how people ask why I don’t travel to other places in the world. I do! I go to Spain once a year and visit other European countries as well, but I am addicted to Brazilian meat 😜 Also, I am wondering if there are any other cities worth visiting besides São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Based on the comments in this thread, Salvador doesn't sound too promising. Is there anything worth visiting in Rio Grande do Sul? I read it has a significant European population. so may some yummy GP? i may be wrong since I am not entirely familiar with Brazil's geography.
