I haven't seen a thread or post like this before, and I found it really helpful and fun to scroll through. It’s called: link: GAROTOS COM LOCAL (INDICAÇÕES)  In the LPSG forum, and I’m sharing the link to it here so you can check it out. I thought it might be useful for others too. The thread is in Portuguese, and people usually post asking about some of the Garoto.local site—kind of like reviews. They often include links and share quick opinions about their experience.
You’ll see my post asking about a bunch of garotos 😛 I’ve had on my radar but never got the chance to contact. I was planning to post in the general thread, but if this belongs somewhere else, please feel free to move it.

While most of the Posts here would suggest little to no drug use amongst this crowd, just wanted to drop this warning for anyone tempted to partake in the local pink delicacy of tusi (also have seen tussy and 2C used). 

This is a potent mix of several stimulants that is snorted. You will see it being used openly in most large clubs in Medellin. 
The Alcaldía is Medellin is now posting social media ads warning users of recent medical emergencies related to to dangerous mixes being sold in the city. This includes Fentanyl being mixed into the supply, leading to several deaths and permanent physical disabilities from use. 

Just wanted to provide fair warning as we get closer to La Feria de las Flores and the wave of tourists who will arrive for the extended party.

I’m doing Capetown, Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam, Maputo (if things calm down) and Lagos in March. I won’t give any details but I’m pretty fucking excited, it has required ALOT of planning, talking and sifting through a plethora of guys (roughly around 6 months so far establishing links and communications). In a round about way....but he knows I live in Mexico and sending money FROM Mexico is a bit of a challenge. No problem receiving money to Mexico.

But yeah, I've had the most requests for money from Colombia...never send any, because of the money laundering laws.... that's my story and I'm sticking to it 😉 

Several have reached out asking about finca event specifically in Cali. The main host is the Black & White sex club, although Regia bar also hosts exclusive events outside the club as well. 
The next finca weekend takes place on August 2nd and will run all night. Transportation back to Cali starts at 4am.
Three DJ's for the outdoor rec space, wet zone with pool, jacuzzi and turco, with large grounds for things that happen in bushes.  There will also be go-gos and live sex shows during the event.  You can contact the club directly for more info, including video footage of the space, the DJ's profiles and interviews with some of the performers. 
Last year's event was a big hit, so this should be a fun sex-filled event.

I agree completely with this scorecard based on my recent trips. Saturday and Sunday are strangely low-key at the Rio clubs. In general, SP and Lagoa are looking better, with more clients and guys. The fashion models aren't back, but the hungsters and steroid guys are. A good sequence might be Thu, Fri, Sat, and Sun in SP, then Mon, Tue, Wed in Rio, continuing through the weekend if you care to.

I started my slow traveling experience in Rio. I am here since last Monday. As my priority this time is not the saunas, I rented an apartment in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, with a nice beachfront balcony. I cannot recommend this neighborhood more for those looking for tranquility. It is far away from the Copa and Ipanema party and overcrowded atmosphere. Even better, my rent is in the strip between Posto 12 and Pedra da Macumba, where the main avenue runs one block away from the beach. The front of the building opens to the Avenue, the back opens to a ciclovia with no cars traffic. It is an area full of surfers with a neo hippie vive, and plenty of small cafes and bars, and everything much more affordable than the most popular and touristic areas.

 
Of course, if you are looking to spend your time in Point, 117 and Meio Mundo, you will have more than one hour of Uber to get to your destination, and then to return. You can improve this time a little by avoiding the worst of rush traffic and taking your Uber to Jardim Oceanico and then the metro, but I have not yet tried this trick. The one sauna that is closer is Casa Grande Boite, the infamous Bangu's place, but it would also be a 45' ride.
In general, this week seemed to be plenty of garotos in the saunas, with a shortage of clients. I visited 117 last Tuesday and got a OK programa. I will not go again in this trip, when I was close it was OK visiting even if I am not a fan, but now it is definitely not worthy the long trip. On Wednesday I went to 202 and, as usual, had an amazing time, with a programa who still has me mouthwatering. I could have hire more than one garoto, the ambience was generous. I went again yesterday, Friday, but for a birthday party. Thank you for the contact, @floridarob, I had a great time with your friends.
On Wednesday, when I was resuscitating after my programa, I made acquaintance with a local client. When I told him that I was planning to go to Bangu, he opened his eyes like two fried eggs, and recommended me not to go by myself. Then, on Thursday at my place, I was hanging out with one of my regulars. When I asked him about the place, he commented that it was full of "bandidinhos" with their ankle trackers on. But of course, I do like bandidinhos. Fortunately, our friend @floridarob provided me with the connections to find a partner for the expedition. This partner, an expat, loves the place. So I will share my impressions after our expedition tomorrow, but it seems it may be so good that Point may have competition as the number one on my heart.
I will be in Rio until September 4th. Do not expect detailed reports as in the past, but I will share some info now and then. If anyone is around, hit me up with a DM.

Thanks for the response. Will I am blessed on both sides, I meant “big” in the form of weight and height. I have never been to Brasil or Columbia, but I think Columbia is easier vs Brasil with new travel rules and visa process.

Been a minute since I posted here — missed all the laughs and wisdom from you guys. Last year I had a great trip to the DR, big shoutout to Manny for hooking me up with top-notch service. Now I’m feeling the itch to take a last-minute trip somewhere in LATAM in the next 3 weeks. Thinking 2–3 weeks total, starting late August or early September. Might even split it up and hit two cities if it works out.
Problem is… I have no idea where to go. I don’t speak Spanish or Portuguese, so I’m not sure which spots would be the easiest for me to enjoy. For context, I’m a big Black guy traveling solo, and I’m looking for somewhere that’s fun, welcoming, and maybe has a setup like the DR. Should I stick to LATAM or just say forget it and head to Thailand instead?
What do y’all think?

Well my 5 weeks in Colombia just gone like it was nothing. I'm leaving Bogota today and here are my final thoughts. 
First of all, many thanks to all guys on this forum for all the tips and recos, I wouldn't make it without you👍
I think for a beginner Bogota should be the starting point, it feels the safest out of all places I've been to in Colombia, has plenty of paid and unpaid guys with reasonable prices, lovely weather and lots to see in and outside the city. 
I stayed 1w in Cedritos, which was clean and lovely, safe and just enjoyable but it's residential so only local unpaid guys around you, however paid guys were happy to visit Cedritos on request. I managed to meet ppl from Tinder and Grindr, which felt totally safe, local guys are very keen to meet a foreigner. My 2nd week was in Unilago area north of Chapinero, and it felt different, still relatively safe but too many ppl and untidy, although lots of paid and unpaid guys around. 
My last week I just dated one guy from tinder, which was unpaid and he paid everywhere for himself(except when it was too expensive to eat because I wanted to go to a fancy place so I'd pay). Met lots of guys in their 20s, although I'm more after mid age guys, I found those young ones that were bigger and more "masculine" looking so I was happy with the choice. 
Had a few trips around the city and the countryside looks just like a mix of England and Gran canaria which is really unexpected and I enjoyed those little towns and villages very much, they all felt safe and touristy. 
I mostly met with unpaid guys in Bogota but the paid ones were happy to go down to 100-140 COP (after seeing my pics) and I found a few really hot guys there as the choice is vast. The guys in Bogota both paid and unpaid were much stricter on condoms and many rejected even knowing I'm on Prep+doxy, it was a strict NO, however they were guys who were okay to fuck without condoms, but a clear difference Vs other cities in Colombia. 
Overall, I think I over panicked before coming here, basic precautions like wearing what locals are wearing an staying In safe areas was enough for me to have no issues whatsoever. I survived without Spanish just fine, offline Google translate did the job.
I'm surprised with how many guys were genuinely interested to meet, to chat, to go to touristy places, without any financial interest just because I'm a European and they are curious, I was not expecting that. I had more sex in those 5 weeks than I had in the last 2 years lol, probs too much and 4 weeks would be enough.

If language is imprtnt for u, spanish is closest to english.
If u reside in the USA, flights to LATAM r cheaper.
I m a fan of colombia. M sure u'll have fun there; splitting time btw bogota, medellin, cartagena.
M unaware of any "setup like DR", with a Manny to provide service. U'll have to find them on ur own: in brazil - saunas; in colombia - brothels and clubs.

this is a great topic but needs expert updating to reflect current realities.  I want to go but....  I like to hire a local long term companion to guide, translate, clean airbnb and be a regular bed partner.  I do that in Medellin and have no shortage of men who want th job, food, bed, transportation alcohol and sex included.   this year I paid 100cop a day...  very happy men

Depends on what you're looking for..... I'm partial to Colombia and Brasil on this side of the world and Thailand and Bali over there...... Sex is better in the first 2 generally and food, massage, deluxe hotels/flights better over there.... speaking as a bottom. I think if you're a top, asia can be good too, but as a "big" black man , if you are a Top, Asians frequently say "YOU TOO BIG" to get out of doing it, unless they really are into bottoming. They used to tell me I was too big, it's all relative, In Asia I am big vs Brasil, lol
