  1. I have been to so many gay bars in NYC with female friends and they were stopped at the door and the bouncer tried not to let them in. We were usually able to convince them but there were times when we had to see the manager or owner. But, I have never had an issue with women in the bars. Sure, if they were there and took the boy I wanted, I might get sad but money is money. I am not sure why allowing women alienates gay customers. I just don't get it. I have also heard that having ladyboys on stage alienates gay customers. Again, I don't get it. I had a group of very young male farangs with me a few years back and they were called on the stage in several bars to dance. A few even got down to their underwear. I am sure that was offensive to some as they were not offable or Asian. But, hell, in a bar isn't the point to have a good time. Having a few people enjoying themselves a bit too much from time to time should be expected. I hate even worse going into a bar where the guys on stage are in a coma. I just don’t see any issue at all with the women on stage. I do have an issue with them moving customers. If I had sat there and were asked to move, I’d most likely move unless that seat was important to me. If that were the case, I’d ask for a refund and leave or I’d move. But, if there is a show going on and I went to get a good seat or sit to where I could see the boys easy, I would not be happy to move. I have been asked in Dream Boys in Bangkok before and I simply said no. I didn’t want to pay that price for a shitty seat. Can someone please explain to me why having a lady in a boy bar is offensive to gays? Do you really think all the boys on stage are gay?
  2. Holy cow. This season is nail biting each episode. This week's ending with Juice holding the gun left me speechless. It seems they may just kill off or destroy almost everyone. But, I bet Uncer will still be standing.
  3. I loved the blind auditions and think this season has great potential. I am so glad to see Pharell on there. He is a breath of fresh air.
  4. I can't wait to see it. But, was the full frontal of Ben really full?
  5. The 2nd episode of Blackish was much better. Most comedies take a few shows to get into the grove. I think it will hit its own and do well. As for The Goldbergs, it is one of the shows I just find so amusing that I laugh out loud so often that I think I might piss my pants.
  6. I didn't see Broadchurch so I think I will like this one. So far, I like the characters.
  7. Actor Gerard Depardieu has stunned fans by revealing he used to work as a male escort in his youth. The Cyrano de Bergerac star has confessed he began roaming the streets of his native Chateauroux, France at the age of 10, when many men thought he was a teenager and propositioned him. In his memoir, Ca c'est fait comme ca (It Happened Like That), he writes, "I've known since I was very young that I please homosexuals. (When men approached me for sex), I would ask them for money." And there are more shocking confessions in the book - the Green Card star reveals he also dug up the graves of the newly-deceased and stole their clothes and jewelry. He also spent three weeks behind bars at the age of 16 for auto theft, and admits he used to mug sex clients at the height of his escort career, adding, "At 20, the thug in me was alive and kicking. I would rip some of them off. I would beat up some bloke and leave with all his money." Depardieu also explains he drinks heavily to overcome the phobias he has about himself. He adds, "I'm obsessed with the racket in my body, the beating of my heart, the gurgling of my intestines, my joints cracking. "It's become a phobia to the point that if I'm alone in a hotel, I must drink so as not to hear it, so as not to go mad from it. I can't get to sleep unless I am dead drunk." http://www.hollywood.com/news/brief/57691117/gerard-depardieu-i-was-a-teenage-male-escort
  8. — you've got marriage equality! That makes 30 states now with marriage equality. I didn't think I'd see this in my lifetime but happy I did! http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/07/us/denying-review-justices-clear-way-for-gay-marriage-in-5-states.html
  9. Has she thrown her base behind either candidate yet?
  10. Whew. I thought you were headed into BN = Jimbo area. That would not be good to start that up again. We know that they are 2 different people.
  11. It is often hard when one gets older and moves from twink to manly man. But, IMHO, he has done that very well and although he takes digs at this site, he knows we all here still love him (regardless of his agenda) and we even allow discussions on this site about some of his favorite topics. Anyone seen any new photos of Ben lately? I know not a twink, but he is a very sexy man.
  12. To me, the interesting thing is the image that Thailand is getting on the world stage. It wasn't just the recent murders of 2 young adults that were killed and one was raped but it was the parade of the "confessions" from the 2 men. IMHO, there is a lot of shit that goes on in LOS that gets swept under the rug and no reporting on it. I think it is better to have a more open discussion on the dangers that exist in Thailand. Yes, I feel safe when I am there. But, I am also not young and not out at late hours of the night. For those people, and lets face it, that is the appeal for so many, the dangers are there and the more cases that are reported, and discussed the better. The story did not seem to be gay at all. But, it does relate to clubs and there are many gay ones. If one thinks that this only happens to straight tourists, you are mistaken.
  13. Australian Jack Hansen-Bartel didn't see the punches coming when he suffered horrific injuries to his face, ending his work as a part-time model and plans to enter a Melbourne university. "I had no ability to defend myself as I was hit with cowards' punches," he says. How 20-year-old Hansen-Bartel's life turned into a nightmare from that night on Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand in June reveals a dark underbelly in southern Thai resorts that are promoted as paradises and attract tens of thousands of Australian tourists each month. The case has sent alarm bells through Thailand's expatriate community amid a spike in the number of murders, rapes and assaults on islands such as Samui and Phuket, including the gruesome hacking to death of British tourists Hannah Witheridge, 23 and David Miller, 24, on Koh Tao on September 15. 14. I have never felt the need to dress up in Thailand or Brazil or Paris or anywhere else. I much prefer to go in something that makes me comfortable. I am also cheap when it comes to clothes. I will put the 200 baht shorts in Thailand and wear them year round in any place that is not cold. I like tshirts and Birkenstocks. That is my daily attire. When in Thailand, I am on holiday and I want to enjoy myself. I feel no need to dress up to go and pick up a gogo boy or even to have a date with a non gogo boy. I am trying to think of the last time I really had to dress up in life and to my memory it was a funeral. I just prefer to be comfortable. If that causes people to stare and make nasty comments, so be it. I write this now sitting at my computer in Thai shorts, a tshirt and Birkenstocks. I guess that will be what I wear tomorrow as well.

  16. I agree. Animals bring peace to most that like them. My grandmother died a few years back and when I would fly home to see her for a few weeks at a time, I would always take her dog with me to the rehab center. I am sure she was happy to see me, but seeing her dog made a real difference in her life. Animals really are great for the elderly. IMHO
  17. Not many on here liked The Goldbergs but I love the show. I have not heard anyone say anything about Blackish. Have you seen it? Enjoying it?
  18. I read today that Taylor Swift would be the only coach. Am I misreading this? Aren't all the coaches choosing other mentors for their group?
  19. I watched the first episode and thought it was great drama. I also loved seeing Anna Gunn (Skylar from Breaking Bad) as the lead role. This is a 10 episode drama and it got started off great. Anyone else watching it?
  20. I also found that stat very interesting. Being from the USA, we are constantly thinking about the 1 percent. But, this stats gives that an extra meaning! It is hard to watch this from abroad and hope that the General does the right thing by the country but I don't like the idea of a Constitution that prohibits rule by popular vote. To me, that is not democracy. That said, remember the Bush/Gore election? The Supreme Court appointed the President of the USA as opposed to majority so most systems tend to lean toward the rich getting what they want.
  21. Nice reports. Thanks.
  22. I enjoyed the read from the latest edition of The Economist. http://www.economist.com/blogs/banyan/2014/10/thailands-political-future
  23. I'd still take Harry. But,both guys on the ends are sexy as well.
  24. It is very sad. I knew this would not turn out as the Chinese promised. They just don't have the ability to give peace to any place they take over.
