  1. RA, sorry, it is not an article. It is my first hand account (from News, Live TV, etc) of the wedding. It was an assignment for an online course I am taking.
  2. A Nice Day For A Gay Wedding On Wednesday, five days before a certain red wedding, the city of Monptellier planned on having the first gay wedding in France. While people wanted it to be a day of celebration, there were lots of concerns as well. The weekend before, tens of thousands of anti-gay marriage protestors had set cars on fire and smashed windows in Paris. What would happen when the first marriage actually took place? And so it was that Montpellier woke up Wednesday filled with affection for the grooms Bruno and Vincent, but also trepidation that things would go as badly as the various matrimonials in A Storm of Swords. In the morning, the newspapers all flashed the first photos of the soon to be newlyweds on the front pages and it was clear, if nothing else, that they were gorgeous. Yay! But there was good news and bad news in the papers as well. Out of security concerns, the wedding was moved from the Prefecture (town hall) in the center of town to the new Mayor's office outside of the historic center. On the other hand, the mayor announced that the ceremony would be broadcast on a Jumbotron outside her office and that there would be free beer, wine and sausage for anyone who cared to come by. Within hours, more than 4,000 people took the local (La Croix-designed) trams down to the site and started to drink and eat and get ready for the afternoon's festivities. But then things got scary again. Another group, led by Marine Le Pen, the scariest right wing politician in Europe, showed up to counterprotest. The goons, which is the only term that could be correctly applied to them, scared both local residents and the police force. Soon, it was announced that the Jumbotron and free wine and beer were to be canceled, and that there would just be an audio transmission of the ceremony to those gathered outside. Even more worrying, nearly 300 riot police were dispatched to the site in case Marine's goons got out of control. But then, a funny thing happened. Marine seemed to realize that she was not making her cause look good, and the goons started to disperse. Things started looking up and word reached the crowd that Bruno and Vincent had been whisked into the mayor's office through a back door. At this point the people gathered started to sing the French National Anthem, giving a sense that one was seeing a scene from Casablanca happen in person. Then, tension struck again. Several bomb threats were called in, and the mayor's office was evacuated. More riot police showed up with dogs. Thankfully, it was all a false alarm and soon the wedding party and invited guests were brought back into the mayor's office. At roughly five minutes before the wedding was supposed to begin, the loudspeaker announced what website people could go to see the wedding broadcast live, and people fired up their smart phones. Hearing the events from the loudspeaker while watching the visuals on portable electronic devices is probably the defining image of how life works in 2013, but it still created a sense of solidarity. Then, at 6:03 p.m., the grooms began to exchange their vows. At 6:12 they both said their I do's, Cole Porter's version of Love And Marriage blasted across the loudspeakers, and shouts of joy could be heard throughout the city. At the end of the day, the wedding happened the way it should have happened. The earth didn't explode. No riots happened. The goons went away in shame, and Bruno and Vincent went with their friends and family to a private location for their wedding reception. A nice day for a white wedding indeed! cc totallyoz 2013
  3. Looks like they have decided to keep it and promote it more. This time, it costs 2M baht for the Card and 20,000 year year and it has a limit of 20 years. So, more money and less value. Thai logic!
  4. The rate includes free Wifi and a room upgrade. Good deal IMHO. Also, you can get breakfast for 2 included for 105 per night.
  5. I grew up in the South and had my fair share of Kentucky boys. Is that the same as Kentucky Beef?
  6. Great deal for Courtyard Marriott in Bangkok which is right near all the malls. Only good for a few days. http://www.travelzoo.com/au/local-deals/Outside-Australia/Getaway/53530?utm_source=top20_au&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=au_top20_2013_22
  7. I want to scan in a few thousand old negatives. Most are 110 and 35mm. I have not yet purchased a scanner to do this with. Has anyone else ever done this and if so, what device did you use? I am looking at this one right now: Plustek OpticFilm 8200 Ai 35mm Film Slide Scanner The problem is it is only for 35mm.
  8. I have written extensively on other sites about Montpellier being one of my favorite cities in France and I call it the Gay San Francisco. Looks like they are hosting the first gay wedding. Montpellier, France (CNN) -- The French city of Montpellier will witness history Wednesday when its mayor officiates the nation's first same-sex wedding in front of hundreds of guests. Vincent Autin and Bruno Boileau will exchange vows at a ceremony in the southern city, watched by some 500 guests seated on brightly colored chairs. Autin, 40, is the head of the region's Lesbian and Gay Pride association -- and his wedding to Boileau, 30, marks a big step forward for same-sex equality, he says. "When French children are born into this world, they are born with the same rights as everyone else -- but from the moment you said you were a homosexual, society deprived you of some of those rights," Autin told CNN in the couple's only interview on their wedding day. "Today the French Republic has given these rights back to us, the ones they had taken away, and it has put an end to an institutional discrimination." While France has allowed civil partnerships for some years, controversial legislation allowing same-sex couples to marry and adopt was signed into law by President Francois Hollande 10 days ago. http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/29/world/europe/france-same-sex-wedding/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
  9. I am sure some of you may remember what I have seen about Montpellier being the gay SF of France. It now will host the first gay marriage in France. 10. Great story sir. And, I agree with FH, you should write a book. It is interesting that you still see and speak of the Vietnam Boy. If I were a betting man, I'd bet we see him again in a future post after he leaves your room.
  11. I have been watching this since the beginning and find it extremely funny. Unlike Khor Tose, I don't care for British comedies too much and have rarely gotten into them but I do love Ian and when I saw he was in it, I tried it. I found it thoroughly delightful and engaging. Yes, some work needs to be done to develop the characters but IMHO, the show keeps me laughing and that is what comedy is supposed to do.
  12. There are a few threads I have moved today as I got so tired of seeing them in the top threads and I also thought that both were getting a bit nasty for my tastes. I was told by one poster this week that I didn't know the word nasty and I may have higher sensitivities than most. I agree with that as it is one of my flaws. PLEASE, show curtsey to other members on this site. If this is not possible, please do not post on those threads. We do hate to loose members but we much prefer a site of gentlemen than mean girls. This is not directed at 99 percent of our members. But, if you think it is you, you may be right. Please show respect to others. Please be kind. Please do not continue to post nasty shit about the other site. We leave those threads up for a bit when we feel they are relevant but they usually turn into nasty posts with hurt feelings. Please do not discuss Benjamin Nichols on this board. Yes, I know that is asking a lot as we have one member who can be his twin (literally) trying to gain support for him and another member his nemesis trying to devour him like a fresh born vampire feeding for the first time. I don't guarantee that I'll remove posts about Ben on this board but I am likely to move them all to the Sandbox. (let me think about it for a few days and I'm sure I'll sleep my pissiness off) "Oz, why are you so mean today?" Well, I have had multiple emails and PMs and posts that were reported as problematic that I can't even smoke a bit of weed and enjoy my day (it is the Lord's day and I'm in Texas so I need to be buzzed). Jeeze, if there is no amount of medical marijuana that can cure this headache, I am hoping moving those threads to the Sandbox might cure it. If not, fuck it, I'll go find a cute twink and get a BJ but if I am buzzed when I do that, he might take advantage of me and I'd hate that to happen (or would I?). Look, we want participation here but we want positive discussions about topics and not bitch fests. If I wanted to read that, I also know what sites I can find that on (mentioning no names purposefully). Thank you all for your participation. Truly, we do appreciate it! (Read this post, catalog it as Oz is loosing it, and then laugh it off as that Bitch has had one nasty day. I'm sure he will be back to his normal perverted self tomorrow)
  13. There are just way too many nasty comments in this thread. I am moving it to a more appropriate forum.
  14. How did you get this guy to put your image on his body?
  15. LOL Good idea.
  16. I have looked into it a bit more and the plans they offer are excellent but fairly expensive. They have different levels of coverage but all of the plans offer both full USA Blue Cross / Blue Shield coverage as well as World Wide Blue Cross coverage. They also cover partially other providers. Having researched many different plans, I know that Blue Cross is the plan for anyone living in the USA and who is in the country several months a year. I have Blue Cross right now and I love the network that they offer. I have always worried about traveling overseas as most policies stop coverage if you have been out of the country for a certain period of time (although most don't say that up front). These policies fully cover both.
  17. Some sex guys for you! Which one do you want for a date?
  18. I have done both of those things as well as talked to my family and made sure they knew they would be haunted if they don't pull the plug on me. I know this is a morbid discussion for many and I do apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings. I just believe that I have lived my life the way I wanted and I hope that my death is done the same way. I know some things can't be controlled and if something happens suddenly that is OK. But, if I do have the ability to make a choice, I want that option.
  19. I don't like the idea of committees or family members making choices for ME. I want to be the maker of my own destiny. I have said for years, should it come to a situation where there is no hope of recovery that I want to make my own timeline of when I go. I do not want anyone else deciding that. I truly do believe that any sane individual should be able to make 100 percent of the decision for their own life.
  20. Great report and great photos! p.s. Where are the boy photos? You are my hero and you can't let me down in Istanbul!
  21. I have been excited to see this. I have friends who saw it last month and loved it and said it was a must see.
  22. I understand what James is saying. They speak of equality in the business practices but they are Mormon owned and I bet the business and the family all contribute to very conservative causes. That said, it doesn't matter to me as long as they don't give money to defeat gay causes like Prop 8 in California and the Mormon church did that itself. That, by the way, was bad press for them and they have tried to mind their own business the last year as it tarnished their image. I also agree with Firecat that same sex benefits are important. I don't see the need to donate to gay causes or gay press as long as they are not giving to our enemies. If they did, I would be in a pondry as to what to do. As for this service apartments, it is the same address as the hotel chaotou stayed at so I guess it is just the top floors or middle floors? I am not sure.
  23. I agree, James Woods.
  24. Gay Cyprus A Land Of Contradiction If you want to go to an up-and-coming gay spot with beautiful beaches and Roman ruins, then you want to experience the contradiction that is Cyprus. Most people would be surprised that Cyprus is becoming a gay destination. For decades homophobia was the norm on the island, but the current younger generation is changing that, and homosexuality, which was illegal only 15 years ago, is now becoming widely accepted. This has resulted in a huge increase in gay travelers, which is big news for a country that makes the bulk of its national income from tourism. The island used to be a fairly expensive destination for people who liked to hide their money from tax officials, but that has changed over the past six months with the collapse of the banking system. You'll no longer be sharing space on the beach with Russian gangsters, and prices have fallen considerably as the economy has collapsed. It is one of the most beautiful islands in the world and while the gay scene is still emerging, if you visit you can be one of the first to talk about what is bound to be a gay Mecca five or 10 years from now. Perhaps one of the weirdest facts about Cyprus is that while it is in Asia, it is also a member of the European Union the only country that can claim that distinction. So, my horny homos, beautiful bears and tasty twinks, let's take a trip to wonderful gay Cyprus! You'll be glad you came! The Political Scene The first thing you need to know about Cyprus is that the political scene is very, very touchy, and you don't want to get into an argument about it. The basic deal is that people in the northern part of this small island are of Turkish decent and speak Turkish. The people from the southern part of the island are of Greek descent and speak Greek. These two groups hate each other. In fact, people in northern Cyprus don't consider themselves part of Cyprus at all. They consider themselves to be Turkish citizens. The UN, NATO, the European Union, and the southern Cyprus people don't subscribe to that point of view. In fact, both sides generally want to kill each other. To keep them from engaging in a full-scale, all-out civil war, Turkey has placed troops in the northern part of the island, and UN peacekeepers patrol the southern part of Cyprus. The southern people consider the Turkish Army to be military occupiers. The northern people feel the same way about the UN peacekeepers. Neither set of troops seems to want to battle the other, so peace reigns on the island; but it can be very easy to start a bar fight by making the wrong comment to the wrong person about the situation, so it's best avoided. The Gay Cyprus Scene Because the island was run for generations by the Greek Orthodox Church, homosexuality was largely hidden and disapproved of until very recently. Up until 2002, it was still a crime to commit an act of sodomy in Cyprus. But ever since homosexuality was legalized that year, a gay scene has emerged in Cyprus. Where there are no gayborhoods there are plenty of gay saunas, gay bars and clubs, and getting gaylaid is not difficult at all. There are even gay brothels, which you can recognize because they advertise themselves as Gay Cabarets. Of course, you'll also find plenty of rent boys in the bars, clubs and saunas. Prostitution is not illegal in Cyprus, and the age of consent is 17. There has been a huge increase in the number of people working as escorts since the financial collapse, so buying a boys time should not be a problem. Most of the gay scene in Cyprus takes place at the several popular gay beaches. Cruising happens day and night there, and it's hard not to find someone who will get you hard. Those beaches include Nissi Beach, Governor's Beach, Dassoudi Beach, Pissouri Beach, Sea Caves Beach, and Kermia Beach. The cruising action is more intense at night, but there are still plenty of options during the day for a roll in the hay behind any of the sand dunes with the dude of your choice. You'll find that these are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and they are the main reason to visit Cyprus and probably why the island is becoming a gay tourist destination. What To See In Cyprus You can't spent your entire time in Cyprus giving blow jobs on the beach, and Cyprus has many interesting non-gay attractions. The most fun is simply walking the island looking at the archeological stuff that is still there. You'll see some things that date back to the Stone Age, and other things that date back to the Roman Empire. The Venetian Wall in Nicosia is also beautiful and worth seeing. Meanwhile, Hamam Omerye is a non-sexual sauna that dates back to the 14th century, and is a great place to relax and get a scrub. Let's Do Cyprus The gay scene is getting bigger and bigger every year and you know size matters, so lets cum to Cyprus together! cc boytoy.com 2013
