  1. I just decided to bring my own for this trip. I love the way Nespresso makes their coffee and the tastes. I didn't want to pay the high Thai prices so I brought my own with enough coffee for a bit. I am just so excited that I can finally make a great cup of coffee every AM!
  2. Yet once again, Hero delivers. I love the place and the massage. They have the finest looking guys for my taste in all of Thailand. So glad that Hero is my Hero!
  3. On this trip, I wanted to be sure I brought some things I have wanted in Thailand for a long while. I have a 3 wheel bike I wanted to bring which is both overweight and over-sized. I also wanted my coffee machine, pressure cooker and some other odd things that I always wanted on trips here. So, on this trip, I loaded up my SUV and headed to the airport. It was completely full. I get to the airport and was told that the limit for bags on Delta Connection Flights were 4. I had 12 bags with me that needed to be checked. After a lot of back and forth, smiling and bullshit, they agreed to take them as the plane was not full. I had also called ahead to make sure I was able to bring them and that helped the situation. When I got to Thailand and past immigration, I saw the same old man that always helps me. He came running over to me and I told him this time I needed a lot of help and maybe 2-3 guys. He said he would take care of it. He did it all by himself (bigger tip for him) and he had a huge 4 wheel crate that fit the bike and everything else on it. As we were walking through customs, the lady stopped us and asked what was in the big bags. I told her the biggest was a 3 wheel bike and she laughed. She pointed to another suitcase and I said that is 2 tires for the bike and another was the back tire. She asked about the other large one and it was my 27inch Imac and she looked at me and said "really" and I said yes. She said, "Mister, you crazy mak mak. Go on out of here." I smiled and thanked my lucky stars that I didn't have to get stripped searched or worse.
  4. Same flight I was on. It will be enjoyable in the upper cabin and it is quiet and the seats are great.
  5. Yes, but one is for Business and the other is for coach and they are roped off after take off.
  6. I loved the place as well before the initial issue and have not stepped foot in them since. However, I took it a step further. I was in LA when this happened and I participated in the initial Kiss In for the West Hollywood area and right afterwards I drove across the USA from Cali to South Carolina in a Budget Rental Truck. I decided to continue my protest and I stopped in every state along the way at a ChickFilA and opened the door and pissed on the pavement. I thought just a fun way to tell them what I thought of them. I guess I have even less class now that most of you thought right? LOL
  7. I just asked 5 younger Thai's today and all 5 said they swear words are used often with 80-90 percent of Thai youths. As a farang who does not speak Thai, I just always assumed it was part of the vocabulary. Now, I know it is. That said, the guys I asked were not your prim and proper guys. They are a bit rough and tough. So, it may also depend on the group you ask.
  8. Also, just as a reminder. If you ever see a topic on any message board that starts with "Fuck" I suggest that those who are offended by "bad" words might just assume that the poster might just go in a nasty rant once the post begins. As for me and this post, my hope is that someone on Dan's camp will see the thread. How is that possible Michael? It is pretty easy, if a thread get listed into Google, alerts are sent out to anyone who has the name Dan Cathy subscribed. I know for a fact that many people like Mr. Cathy do this and view the threads in question. I thought the most appropriate title for this thread was Fuck Dan Cathy.
  9. Whatever you do, do NOT ever visit NYC and try to take a taxi, go to a deli, stand in line, walk down the street, take the subway, or well, I guess you get my point. If your sensibilities are such that you are offended by "bad" words, that is one city you had best avoid. However, I do understand your feelings. If you want to visit a kinder, more gentle city, may I suggest Pattaya? There it is just a bunch of professional companions who use their body parts to make sure that others are happy. Or, as we New Yorker's would say.....
  10. Since we were down by Scoozi Pizza, we walked by Tawan and I looked inside and it was not my cup of tea so we continued our journey. We came to Super A and went in for a drink as I know the mamasan. There were about 15 guys there and all were over 18. There were some cuties in the group. But, being so tired, I continued my journey. Drinks were 150 baht each. They didn't have change for 1k note and it took 15 min to get the change. We went to Scorpion Bar to find the stunner so many talked about but I didn't see him and we ended up in Boys Bangkok. They had a great group of guys. Number 55 was simply stunning. Firecat, he is right up your alley! And, I might even return to spend time with this 18 year old cutie. Being tired with jet lag, I am glad that I enjoyed a few drinks in the gay bar area of Bangkok and while Super A has never been my first choice, I did love being back in LOS and being able to see the studs in the area.
  11. That is so wonderful. Congrats! I was very happy with the decision to end Prop 8 and while I didn't realize that the marriage from one state to another would transfer, I am so happy that it does. It just keeps getting better and when Supreme Court decisions like this affects good people like you and your husband, I am overjoyed. Congrats.
  12. Visit #1: Best Pizza in Bangkok Tour A Review of the Finest Pizza in Bangkok Scoozi Pizza The address is hard to find even on their website but the pizza place is right across the street and down a block or two from the Tarntawan Hotel. Scoozi has 18 branches in Bangkok and so this review is only for this branch. We wanted something that was fairly close to the gay bars and choose Scoozi. I have eaten there on many occasions in the past and always enjoyed it. I first found the place many years ago when a friend was in Bangkok studying Thai and I met him and we went there for dinner. I love the inside as you can actually watch the guys making the pizza. The Pizza is cooked on a hot wood fire. It is really fun to watch them and see the progress of your pizza. Tonight, we decided to order the Hawaiian Pizza. The cost was 450 baht. We all had drinks as well. l The pizza crust was great and one of our favorite things. So much so, the BF ate the last piece but only the crust. The pizza had plenty of cheese on it as well as it tasted great. The pizza is supposed to be framed after those from Napoli, Italy. Scoozi has online ordering and having stayed in the Sathorn area in the past, we ordered from it on several occasion and it was good but not as good as the in house. Last night we sat inside but they seats are very uncomfortable. The ones outside are much more comfortable and you do get some eye candy that walks by. Our Hawaiian Pizza was excellent and we all really enjoyed it. We gave it 3.8 stars out of 5. (2 of us gave it 4 stars and one gave it 3.5) Attached are a few photos. http://www.scoozipizza.com
  13. Never in my life have I seen such blatant disregard for those who sit in Business Class. If the last 20 years of American history have taught you nothing, I hope it has taught you that those that sit in economy should be use to sharing the shitter while those in Business Class need constantly more accommodations. This is the way it works in government and politics in the USA and I don't understand you unwillingness to participate in such well established principals! :spiteful: It is like you are just saying, "Let them eat cake."
  14. LOL We are all adults here. Aren't we? Unfortunately, this is the way I talk in person. I am not highly educated and sophisticated. I am just a down home southern boy with a potty mouth. And, I much prefer George Carlin to Jay Leno.
  15. That Chick-Fil-A fucker Dan Cathy, pulled his tweet he made right after the Supreme Court announced it decision on DOMA. IMHO, this twat should have an apple stuffed in his mouth and roasted like the fucking pig he is. He said: "Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies." So, Mr. Dan Cathy, I still will not be going to your shitty restaurants with the rest of the cunts that eat there. @RantoftheDay hehe
  16. Look Dude, when you are as big as I am and can walk quietly without jarring anyone's seat, you begin to understand that ANYONE can do the same. But, true, I much prefer that my powder room be only for those of us that hit the toilet when we try. The rest of you filthy pilgrims, can just piss off (literally). Signed, Your friend Mary
  17. You are quite right sir. But, I have a friend who cruises at least 15 times a year and has always met a few Thais on the trip for fun and sex. If I could find just one on a cargo ship, I think I'd be OK but how does one plan that in advance? I have long wanted to do a cruise by Cargo Ship but these days the prices are much higher than before it became trendy.
  18. Yes, I totally agree FH. I always loved the upper deck until now. Now, it was busy all night. They really do have the seats built so you don't really notice too much traffic but there is always those guest who don't know how to walk quietly into the good night.
  19. I have been looking at health insurance again and it is really crazy how expensive it is. But, on Jan. 1, this will be required for all American citizens. What I now wonder is if this will also be required for expats living abroad? Or, will there be a certain amount of time you must be in USA in order to require the purchase. I have looked into overseas policies and they all suck. Benefits are often not good and the paperwork required of you is intensive. I mentioned a few weeks back about Geo Blue Travel Insurance. I finally decided to take the plunge and get it. It was an insane 888.00 a month but that was the perfect coverage for me. It asked all the medications, etc and I gave them. I currently only take Armor Thyroid and Metaformin. I explained this in the application as required. It asked for payment and I put in my CC number. I was instantly denied based on those drugs. I called them and basically they said anyone with any prior history will be denied. On Jan 1, it is my understanding that pre-existing conditions are prohibited. Would that also include a plan that covers American's overseas? Would this policy have been able to deny coverage? I currently have good USA Blue Cross / Blue Shield but it does suck overseas as you must have a written waiver before any care. Do others think this will change Jan 1?
  20. I am looking for something new. When I first started coming to LOS many years ago, I just could not wait to get into one gogo bar on Soi Twilight: Future Boys. The bar is long since closed but I still look for that one special place to dip my toes in for subsequent trips. I would love some suggestions. Or, do you have that one bar that makes your week when you are here and has been consistent for you for many years?
  21. It is my first time in LOS and LMTU is not here as well. While I did not see him on many trips, the fact that he was here was really good to know. I have thought about him much over the past few months and while I think his abrasive personality was a bit much for many, it was also adored by so many. Posters are so much more than just someone to put keyboard to paper. They all have stories and they all have things to share that we can learn from. From LMTU, I had many disagreements about his posting on message boards and even a few when we were out together and he said some things that really just shocked the living hell out of me. But, in the end, he is someone that I am so glad I got to know in Thailand and he did help me out with some things on more than one occasion. While Thailand and the gay community will carry on, it is just not the same without him. I do miss the man and I do hope I get to meet someone that surprises and shocks me as much as he did. RIP my friend.
  22. I am getting to the point I hate traveling to Thailand by plane. I am just so tired and exhausting. However, I love cruise ships but have not found any that leaves from Cali and puts me in Bangkok rarely fast. Any suggesting cruise lines to look at? I love boat travel and if not for the expense of the Internet on board, I'd probably live on board.
  23. Thank you all for the suggestions! I'll keep you posted.
  24. The seats in these airplanes are great but there is only one bathroom that is shared by 2 cabins for Business Class. I find this odd. I asked a friend who has worked for Delta for many years and has been a flight attendant since 1969, and she said that they decided it was more important to have lay flat seats for all their Business class passengers. Now, the upstairs has 2 more bathrooms and are available for use for Business Class seats. But, who the hell wants to walk up the stairs to go to the restroom when you are paying out the ass for high quality service.
  25. I have a friend of mine in Rome that checks my writing and makes changes to it as I am dyslexic and can't see when I make spelling mistakes. I have been working on Berlin, Germany city guides. I had over 40 of them and I sent them to her from my Gmail account. She checked things and went back and edited for spelling, etc and she also added the German addresses. She sends me my documents back to 3 different email addresses. One of them is me.com and one is gmail.com I noticed she had sent me the edited version to my gmail account but not to my Mobile Me account. I assumed she had forgotten and I forwarded it to my Me account but again, it was not there. I did this about 5 times before I assumed that my server for the Mobile Me was down. I called them and told them what I was experiencing and that I was attaching a .doc called Berlin_Listings.doc The man was very kind and he walked me though several things and all the sudden I had sent a test from my gmail and it worked but it was not the forwarded document. This means that my Mobile Me was working but not for forwards. I attempted to forward another message. It worked fine. I was on the line with the Apple guy for over an hour and we finally decided that the document must have some characters that were not acceptable. Now, this was not inside my email in a copy and paste job but it was attached in a document. Together the Apple Support Tech and I tested this with .doc .docx .txt .pages and a few others. Guess what? Not once would it go through to Mobile Me. So, I started testing it page by page. It was 6 pages long and I copied each page and pasted into a document and sent from gmail to Mobile Me. All the pages worked but Page 4. He had to get off the phone and talk to a supervisor and when he did, I tested Page 4 paragraph by paragraph and all worked except for one. It was one listing for a gay club in Berlin. I was never able to send it to my Mobile Me account. When he returned, he asked that I send him page 4 and I did. He got his at apple.com and said, "see, it works here." I said, OK, how about I sent to your @me.com account and he said he could not give that to me as it was his personal account. I said, "OK. so forward it to yourself." He did but guess what? It didn't work. He was shocked but I wasn't. I had already determined what the issue was. He went to another supervisor and he was gone for a long time and when he returned he said it must be some odd character from German in the page. I told him yes, but I tested that and the other pages had all the same characters. He was the supervisor of the first guy I talked to. I spent 2 hours with them. My issue was not resolved. So, in other words, Apple has a filter that not only reads emails but reads INSIDE attached documents. It does this so fast that one second (from gmail to Mobile Me) it reads it and determines that a document was not acceptable to be sent. Now, I didn't say it went to my junk folder. I said it was never received. In other words, to this day, 4 days ago, I have yet to receive any of the 20 emails I tested this with. The main supervisor came on and said there must be a glitch somehow. When I asked if Apple read my document, he said that it did not. But, he said that some thing in the document set off a trigger. In other words, does this not mean that Apple had the technology to read inside my document? Also, what happens, as I tested this, is that Apple not only reads the documents but it does so and decides to block it within one sec. Can you imagine the power behind this? I go to bed that night a bit worried that someone had the power to read inside my mail in less than one sec and I was a bit pissed that the technology was there and being used against me for a gay listing of sex clubs in Berlin. I woke up the next morning and went to check my mail. Guess what? There was a sign in Red Letters from Gmail that a suspicious attempt to read my email at Gmail was blocked. I have had this account at gmail for 10 years and not once did this ever occur. I do not to this day know why this happened to my Gmail account but I do know that someone from some group tried to read the mail in that account. As I keep passwords different, for every account, I wasn't too worried. But, I cannot imagine why anyone would care about a bar/club in Berlin so much that all this happened to me. I am also at a point where I have about decided to remove all my email accounts that are in the "cloud" and use my own email that is a pop account that no one can access without my computer. Yes, this did scare me. Yes, I know something fishy went on. Yes, I lost a lot of trust and faith in Apple that night.
