Gay Tel Aviv – Where Nothing Is Uncut! A Boytoy City Guide
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Africa
LOL Too funny Lookin! but, I'd pay triple for him. -
Nope, not using it at the hotel but the hotel I was at in Vegas last week had a full kitchen in it. I did make this recipe again this week and it was great. I doubled the ingredients and froze several containers for future use to just warm up in microwave. It really is a yummy recipe. I'll post more when I have time to test them.

I changed my avatar only as I didn't want to keep looking at the same guy over and over. I do this periodically. I didn't change the word newbie but I do know that it can be changed. I'll try to figure out how. I'll call myself "Oldie"

The Boys Of St. Vincent Here we have one of the most well-made films about an uncomfortable topic ever. Told in two parts, it goes to the heart of the blackness than can exist inside humanity. Its effect cannot be understated it leaves you both in awe of the acting, directing and filmmaking, while at the same time horrified and repulsed by what you see on the screen. That it was made in 1992 is astounding. Six years later, Todd Sololdz would make a far less explicit film called Happiness, covering roughly the same subject matter, and would be reviled for it. What makes this film able to do what it does and get away with it is that it is based on true events at the Mt. Cashel Orphanage in Newfoundland. The events had been written about throughout Canadian media, and the film was made to give the nation a sense of catharsis. If nothing else, the film is a great argument for ending celibacy in the priesthood. One of the running themes in the film is that repressing your sexuality will cause it to be expressed in ugly, damaging ways. I was afraid of sex, of what sex made me feel, Brother Peter Lavin (played by the same actor who portrays Conrad Greystone on Revenge says to his psychologist. That's why I entered the brotherhood, so I would not be able to act on it. If he'd been placed in a remote monastery, who knows what would have happened to him. But as it was, he was put in charge of St. Vincent's Orphanage - and what happens when you have a grown man repressing his sexuality while surrounded by young boys is, if nothing else, somewhat predictable. The first half of the film documents in great detail the abuse that Brother Lavin and three other monks heap at the boys in their care. The boys constantly try to run away; when they do, the police bring them back and as punishment, the monks beat them senseless before making them suck their cocks or buggering them. Eventually, though, a police officer does get involved; he interviews the children and gets sworn statements of the abuse that has been taking place. But, his captain refuses to press charges, saying he has been told to repress the case by officials in the Justice Department who want to avoid a scandal. Then, the church removes the three monks and sends them to other dioceses. New monks take their place, and the cycle of abuse begins again. The second half of the film takes place 15 years later: A new police captain has been going through old files and finds the sword statements of the boys. He instigates a real investigation, and Lavin and the other monks are quickly charged. By this point, Lavin is no longer a monk. Instead, he is an architect - and a married man with two young boys of his own. We now see the boys as adults, and it's far from pretty. As a result of their abuse, they are all severely damaged people. Some have become male prostitutes. Others have drug and alcohol problems. Some start bar fights. All are heterosexual, but have problems with sex. In fact, the one who was molested most often admits to his girlfriend that he is afraid of sex chilling, given Lavin's words to his shrink in an earlier scene. What transpires next is a great argument for our current rape shield laws: The defense attorneys have free range to interrogate the victims on the stand and bring every single mistake they've ever made in their lives against them. In fact, one of the victims kills himself the night after he testifies. Meanwhile, a separate investigation is made into the cover-up of the abuse but nothing comes of it. The local bishop, who simply moved the monks elsewhere instead of disciplining them or getting them treatment, simply says that he was told by church officials in Rome to do so. Given that the Vatican is its own country, there is no way for the Canadian government to force those officials to come to the trial to testify. The police chief, who ordered the investigation to be suppressed, claims that a prostate operation wiped out 20 years of his memory. His boss says he was told to suppress it by a deputy justice minister who has been dead for five years. At that point, the trail runs cold. Meanwhile, Lavin himself remains in deep denial over having done any wrongdoing. When his wife finally asks him how he feels about what he did to the boys - and what has happened to their lives since he was arrested - he responds, I feel like a martyr to those lying boys, and now a martyr to you, my supposedly loving wife. She then asks him if he has molested their own children, to which he responds, Why don't you ask them? Then, the film fades to black. What we have here is a film of damaged lives. The monks themselves had their souls twisted by a church that told them their sexual urges were a sin. If they had not been part of the church, who knows what would have happened to them. They might have simply become happy gay men. As it is, they became monsters; the children themselves are twisted and damaged beyond repair. Who is to say what their lives would have been like if the church had not placed them in the care of these monsters? So, at the end of the day, the film is not so much a tale of a few horrific people as it is an indictment of a religious institution that shames people with alternative sexualities to the point that they become soulless beasts, and then when confronted with the results, shrugs it off as just another sin that can be washed away in the confessional. There is an emptiness and emotional vacancy that haunts this movie. Knowing that this was not an isolated incident, and in fact happened in every country that the Catholic Church operates in, defines the concept of sin in a way that the Vatican would probably not be comfortable with.

Dale1 had posted a topic about Take Care. Several posters went off the subject and I tried to move those posts to the topic already started re: the porn stars. I think I did something wrong and can't find those 4 posts now. my apologies for this but when I find them, I'll move them to the right thread.

I thought he did an excellent job as well. He put gay rights in the speech for the first time for any President ever. That gives me great hope. He was also very obvious in his support for Latin voters as the stage was filled with them.

I really liked this movie as well. James Woods is amazing in everything and I have always loved Melanie Griffin. Did the young man do anything after this movie?

My Own Private Idaho: A Boytoy Review
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
It is OK for you to have your opinion. Even though you are wrong. LOL jk It was one of my first gay movies and I have a great fondness for it. I was also in love with River Phoenix which I did hear was gay by many friends. -

This is a general topic forum. I guess you got lost in finding it. If you think a veggie chili is not a gay meal, you haven't been hanging around with too many younger gay yuppies.

Article about Rio's Love Motels
TotallyOz replied to ihpguy's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Great article my friend. I have see the one hotel in the slide show but never stayed there. When I was 16 years old, I "escaped" from my family and told them I was staying with a friend. My two other friends did the same and we went to Nashville, Tenn for the weekend. We had a blast but we knew nothing of travel so we stayed in a hotel that had the brightest lights. We didn't know at the time but it was a love hotel and the bed was a massage bed. Jacuzzi was in the room. There was a place to get tied up but we didn't know what any of this was for. I was a bit naive to be honest. It was me and my best friend and my girlfriend. We all slept in the same bed. Of course, I cuddled with her but ended up getting fucked by him when she was asleep. LOL I guess the Love Hotels have a real place in my heart! -
Happy MLK Day! He was a great man and helped to move America in a direction toward equality for all. His words and his wisdom are still very valuable in the gay rights movement. All men are created equal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther_King,_Jr._Day I loved Google's drawing today.

A friend is going to Rio in March and gets to stay at the Sheraton because his family gets a nice discount. I have never stayed in this hotel and he asked me about it. Has anyone stayed here? What was your experience? The TripAdvisor reviews are all over the place.

"Ripper Street," the Victorian-era police procedural debuting on BBC America on Saturday, opens with chilling promise and on a decidedly modern note. It's 1889 in London's notorious East End and a man leads a group of middle class English citizens to the sites of the Jack the Ripper killings. Six months since the body of Mary Jane Kelly, the fifth victim, was found, and already murder tourism thrives in Whitechapel. It is interrupted, in this case, by the discovery of another woman butchered, which leads the members of local H division, including Det. Inspector Edmund Reid (Matthew Macfadyen), to fear that the Ripper has not died, emigrated or simply gone to ground as so many had hoped. Fending off the voracious press (some things really never change, do they?), Reid resists jumping to such headline-ready conclusions. With the reluctant aid of the suspiciously seedy U.S. Army surgeon/former Pinkerton agent/budding forensic examiner Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg), Reid quickly concludes that this bloody corpse is the work of another brutal murderer a revelation oddly presented as a relief and sets out to bring him to justice. To do this he and his tough and ready detective sergeant (Jerome Flynn) must delve deep into the dim and slop-strewn East End, with its picaresque warrens of corruption and decay. If this sounds slightly familiar, it most certainly is not only does "Ripper Street" faithfully follow BBC America's other period procedural "Copper" in form and function, it borrows scenes, music and even credit imagery so freely from Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" series that you expect Robert Downey Jr., or at least Stephen Fry, to make a cameo. Boy Toys, Escorts And Houseboys, Oh My! At BoyToy, we use a lot of terms to describe different types of sexual relationships between older guys and young gays. While many of you are familiar with these terms already, we know that many guys cum here who are new to the gay scene. Not everyone becomes strictly dickly when they are 18. Some of us didn't figure out that sausage was our thing until we were older. With that in mind, we decided to do a rundown on the three most common types of relationships we discuss boy toys, escorts and houseboys. While all are similar in that they involve trading the salami with an up and cummer, there are nuances to the relationships and it's important to know the distinction so that you know exactly what you are looking for from your sexperience. Boy Toys For many of us, boy toys are the ideal relationship. It's when we go out on dates with a younger guy who wants to profit from our experience. We take him out to dinner, go to the movies, and cuddle at home. While there is a financial dynamic in that we probably make more money than they do and therefore pay for drinks and meals and such, it's not an escort or houseboy experience. They don't work for us. Instead, we simply have great nights out and take them to places and events they probably couldn't afford to do on their own. If we were straight, they would be trophy wives or trophy girlfriends. Because we are happy homos, they are boy toys instead. We get the fun of playing with a hot young body, and they get to be with a guy who can take them to places more sophisticated than Burger King on a date. While there is a potential for actual romance here, it's generally understood that boy toys are fairly disposable. As they get older, we'll replace them with a newer model and they will move on to dating guys their own age. As the name would suggest, it's a fun, simple relationship where everyone is in it to have a gay old time. Male Escorts Male escorts are at the extreme other end of the spectrum. The relationship is purely financial. While we might take them out to dinner, we don't have to. Instead we can just have them meet us at a hotel room, get our rocks off, and discreetly hand them an envelope full of cash. Male escorts are generally one-night stands. We meet, we mate, and they go away. While we can, of course, hire them again, if we don't there are no hard feelings. You can be with one male escort on Friday and another on Saturday, and it's just business as usual. You can hire escorts for longer periods of time a weekend away or for an entire week on vacation, for example but that's the sexception that proves the rule. There is rarely any romantic aspect to the relationship, though you can pay them to act like your boyfriend for a few hours. Houseboys Houseboys occupy a land between that of a boy toy and a male escort. It is a financial arrangement, but also a domestic one - and feelings do often get involved. In a houseboy relationship, you give the young stud a salary to live in your house and take care of tidying up, changing the sheets, doing the shopping and more often than not, cooking dinner. There is, of course, the expectation that the houseboy will have sex with you when you want it but there is no expectation or obligation that you will be faithful to your houseboy. Also, you'll still be paying your houseboy his salary/allowance even if, for whatever reason, you two aren't fucking for a period of time. The closest example in the straight world is that of a housewife except a houseboy gets paid for his work, and you aren't tied to them for life. After a year or two, you can give them severance pay and replace them with a new houseboy. It goes without saying that when you are living with a cute young boy and having sex regularly, romantic aspects and feelings can sometimes get involved. Bu, it's not like dating a boy toy, because the room, board and salary are understood as the reason he is there. And, he is obligated to work for the creature comforts and roof over his head that you are providing. Many men who don't want to deal with the hassle of dating, but also don't want to risk having bad experiences with random escorts, choose the houseboy lifestyle because it combines the best of both worlds and minimizes the negatives of both experiences. cc boytoy.com 2013

I know many of you think I'll say Brazil. And, while I do love it there, my answer might surprise some of you. Barcelona. I love the city. I love the boys. I also like the prices right now. Great deals on apartments and easy for people to live and enjoy a good life with a very friendly gay life. Next it might be Porto Alegre, Brazil as it is not the big cities of Rio or Sao Paulo but still the boys are amazing and the rates are more reasonable than in the larger cities.

I just booked a flight to Sao Paulo on Delta and it was 2100 USD plus my certificates to upgrade to business class the entire trip. I was thrilled. I had called last week and got a similar rate but when I called yesterday, the rate was 5600. I called back and today and it was 2600. I called again 20 min later and got it to 2100. That is the lowest upgradeable fare I have had to Brazil. I am happy I kept up my points!

If you were not able to stay in Thailand for any reason or the laws changed as such to where you had to move or the unspeakable happened and the country was in utter turmoil and you had to move from Thailand, where would you go? Would you pick another place in Asia? Europe? Would you return home? What would be your next long term destination?

I thought the movie was interesting and I enjoyed seeing it but I don't think an award winning show.

I didn't see the British version but will try to find it. I do think the US version is amazing and has one of my favorite actors William H. Macy.
