  1. I had time today to sit down and chat with the lawyers who are representing the Free Speech Coalition. Perfect being at the right place at the right time. It was a great discussion and they told me the basis of the case as they are seeking an injunction to stop the law from taking effect. There were many points they went over but the interesting ones were that they were negotiating with the OSHA for new guidelines when all this started. They said the industry was already very strictly monitored and the new laws would require a public health inspector to be present at EVERY shooting in order to make sure the condoms were placed on appropriately etc. Needless to say, that will be costly. Also it was interesting that the group that got this pushed through spent over 6 million dollars. Amazing that a 3rd party group is so interested right? Guess what else that group has purposed? That every gay bar be required by law to give condoms to their customers. Another one, they want to close down the bathhouses and saunas in West Hollywood and if they can't get them closed, they want to have a monitor in place to make sure things are done safely. Lastly, I just happened to have access to 24 porn stars today. All of them were in the straight industry and none in gay films. But, I asked them how often they were tested for HIV. 3 of the said once per month. The other 19 said 2 times per month. It sounds to me like they are intelligent and cautious individuals. Their job does put them at more risk to get STD's than other jobs for sure but I think coal miners also have more risk for certain diseases that the majority of the population. Just an observation.
  2. I doubt that any of you really care about the facts of this case as your mind is already made up. But, I had time today to sit down and chat with the lawyers who are representing the Free Speech Coalition. Perfect being at the right place at the right time. And for those of you that thought I was nutty when I said this is just the tip of the iceberg, well guess what else that group has purposed? That every gay bar be required by law to give condoms to their customers. Another one, they want to close down the bathhouses and saunas in West Hollywood and if they can't get them closed, they want to have a monitor in place to make sure things are done safely. LOL So, I guess this group isn't really interested in private vs commercial encounters are they? At least it doesn't sound like it to me. Someone said in this thread, give them an inch and they will take a mile. humm... Lastly, I just happened to have access to 24 porn stars today. 3. FH, the porn industry is for fantasy. It is not an educational tool. Parents, schools and teachers should be education and sex education should be a part of every curriculum. And, the teachers should be the educators and not the porn stars. Porn stars are for entertainment and fantasy. They are not the ones that educate. And, it is NOT their responsibility.
  4. So sorry. I did not make myself clear. I think that anything a person does with themselves or another consenting adult is between the two of them. I believe prostitution should be legal, all drugs should be legal, assisted suicide should be legal and anything else one person wants to do with their body or with another consenting adult should be without government intervention.
  5. Reading is fundamental!
  6. So, we should only have these laws when commercial behavior is involved. Is that correct? OK. I understand now. So, lets regulate the gogo and beer bar industry to ensure they comply as well. How about if we require them to take a video cam with them for each "paid" encounter and to record the "event" and the present to the owner of their perspective bar to ensure they are compliant? I am sure we can trust them right? And, we should also require both client and "employee" to be tested every 4-6 weeks for all STD's and should anyone EVER test positive, we should shut down the entire industry. Are we all OK with this? I bet I know the answer. Of course, some of you will declare I am using faulty logic but if we all agree that private behavior should not be regulated but commercial behavior should be regulated, you should be OK with the above regulation. I know that none of you would ever engage in such a commercial transaction. Esp. in our beloved Thailand. After all, aren't we all there for the good food and cheap police protection.
  7. My doctor has suggested that I try a vegan diet. LOL Fucking hippie holistic doctor. So, I am curious has anyone ever tried the 21 day Vegan Cleanse?
  8. If I agree, can we also agree to tax the money boy industry in Thailand as the same high level? After all, more guys in Thailand are infected with HIV based on their sex with men than in the porn industry in USA. So, the next time anyone goes to a bar, the new off fee will include a 2,000 USD surcharge. Oops..bye bye 90 percent of single gay men who visit or live in Thailand. Also, lets tax the fast food restaurants for all obesity related health issues. After all, it is their fault and not the individual. Right? And, now can we also tax the gun industry for each and every handgun death each year? Love it. Also, to get more money, I want to tax every single person with HIV that has sex with a person without HIV. Hell, lets just go ahead and tax gay men for all sexually transmitted related issues. Those queers just fuck and fuck and fuck and a tax would really teach them. Plus, we know they have the extra spending money as they don't have families. I am kidding on the above for those that don't see that. Actually, porn companies are required by law to cover worker's compensation and have insurance related to a whole plethora of other things. So if a workers gets hurt on the job in any way, they have a claim. I wish the same were true for bar boys in Thailand.
  9. They don't agree. It was a small area in LA and it means that those companies if the law is enforced will simply move to another area like Long Beach or Palm Springs or San Francisco where they don't have those laws. It accomplishes very little in the end other than to highlight the law and move a billion dollar industry to another area.
  10. Of course, a great deal has been said and discussed here at the porn convention in Vegas. Several companies I know are looking to relocate as some think this is just the first step into closing out the industry in So Cal.
  11. Well, a voice that agrees with you at least. I realize that most of you disagree with me but I stand firm on belief that personal rights far outweigh any government intervention. I want the right to do with my body what I want. I want the ability to do anything with another adult that I want. I do not want the government to interfere with these things in any way. I have few if any exceptions for this. You will find bad people in the porn industry and you will find them in every other profession. You may bring up many examples of stories of people coerced to do something they prefer not to do for money. I just can't think of one example where this happens in Thailand. Can anyone? Can you? Think about it. Think. Humm. Humm. Bars? Bar boys? No, no, they love having sex with old men they don't find attractive. Wait, I have heard they love fat and old men. Really? You heard that? It must be true. Right. Right? NO It is not true. They don't enjoy it. They do it for the money. Anyone that doesn't believe that the chance for a better life (money) is involved in the equation is really in denial. The same in true in the porn industry. People do things for money. But, the ones I know and have talked to have always made their own choices. OK Michael, that is not fair you say. You are right. It may not be fair but it is true. I don't begrudge some guys for going to Thailand for the sex industry. It is what most go there for. I just don't like it when anyone tries to interfere with someone elses sexual desires with another adult. I hate it when someone who fucks bareback says that fucking a ladyboy is sick and perverted. Or, when someone that gets fucked by a ladyboy says that someone that eats pussy is perverted or when someone that hires escorts tries to judge someone else for dressing in drag and I could go on and one and on. What each of you do in the privacy of your bedroom with another adult is your business. What these guys in the porn company does is their business. It can be regulated by the local authorities but when that happens, don't think for one second that they will never come after you for what you do. Of course, all this is just my opinion and as my mother said, "opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one." I know this and I don't expect anyone to change their way of thinking based on my BS arguments. At the same time, you will not change mine based on yours. Good luck to the people in LA in getting this banned and I hope that the next thing they ban is prostitution. Wait. Sorry, that is already banned. But, IMHO, it should not be. I firmly believe that porn and the sex industry helps people to have stable mental conditions. If there were less oppression and more openness about sexuality there would be less sexual crimes. Again, just my opinion.
  12. A very interesting article here to read for those interested in the subject. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/06/health/unlikely-model-for-hiv-prevention-porn-industry.html?pagewanted=all And, the guy on the top photo is James Deen. I spent some time with him last night and today. A very sweet man. Here is a photo I just took a few hours ago in Vegas.
  13. I had too, but do you really think stopping videos in one local that deals with no condoms will see a cure for AIDS? It will not. And, for Vivid, I know the girls and guys in that company very well. They are HIV negative and test often. If that is your rationale for this, you are barking up the wrong tree. Now, if your rationale is that portraying this on video causes others to not use condoms when they have sex, all I can say is that I can't do half the things I see on videos and the other half I have no desire to do. But, I also can think for myself and judge what I want to do or not want to do with my partner. I don't need a video for teaching me anything. Anyone who is watching videos to teach them as oppose to entertain them, isn't really very smart. I do hope that gay rights are not taken away and I do agree with that this ordinance is not about the gays. However, it is about taking away someone's right to do what they want with their body on video. I could easily see the next law in this area as one that bans sale of any video with bareback sex in it. I can then easily see them banning any sex with a bear and a twink it is and then with any two gay guys. Give them an inch and they will take a mile! (and I am not referring to the NY inch)
  14. Being at the Adult Novelty Expo is Vegas today, I saw a dildo that made me pause. The makers said it was pretty controversial when they came out with. I can see why.
  15. I know the owner of Vivid and it is not only money he is concerned with. It is easy for them to pick up and move to another location as this "ordinance" is so very limited to that area of Cali. However, if you are only discussing what is in front of the camera, do you think that it is possible for those in charge to decide that gay sex is not acceptable and then pass an ordinance against that? I can tell you, that it is possible. If rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights are taken from us, it then opens up other rights to be the same. If you are OK with local municipalities making this law, are you OK with other areas stopping the production of all gay porn? It is done time and time again. My concern is the same as I had with NYC when the mayor started to clean up Times Square. IMHO, the things he did was unconstitutional but it made a big difference in the area. And, do you know what happened right after? He started to close down all the gay clubs in NYC as well. I remember this very vividly. When you allow any of these nuts to start dictating their morals to the population, you end up taking it up the ass yourself.
  16. I spent some time today chatting up this cute guy. I knew I had no chance with him but as he was cute, I thought I would try. Then, I got inside the convention hall and he had his own booth. Who knew it was James Deen. Hottie!
  17. Yes, I do doubt that. I thought he was talking about me to be honest. I love my dress up nights. But, don't get jealous Hitoallusa, I didn't wear my Jimmy Choo!
  18. Now, NCBored, I know you are new around here but I didn't see any mention of the other site. MERmen is the name that was given this site by someone. Nothing to do with the other site. Perhaps you woke up on the wrong side of the bed today? better yet, just hire a cute guy to sleep on that side and you won't have to worry about that side anymore.
  19. Well, why don't we just go ahead and outlaw sex without condoms? And, while we are at it, lets make blowjobs illegal too? When one right is encroached upon, others will then start to fall away. Vivid's founder does not want to see this happening. When two consenting adults decide, they wish to fuck and suck and do it with or without condoms or when they decide they wish to fist or bukkake or anything else they wish to do, I do not think the government has a place in that transaction. I know I am a great deal more liberal than most but IMHO the key is 2 consenting adults. Can't we just let them decide what is best for themselves? Yes, some make stupid mistakes, but we can't outlaw stupidity. You may decide that it is OK to have prohibitions on porn without condoms, but then when a prohibition against 2 men having sex on film is enacted, I bet you would be upset. I know I would.
  20. My Own Private Idaho My Own Private Idaho is a quirky independent film that occupies a strange space in film history. It remains an important, if flawed film that effectively chronicles a sort of coming of age, even if the outcome is more tragic than self-reflective. Where this film really shines is in documenting just how far the world of male escorts has come over the past 20 years. Released in 1991 - well before the Internet would transform the escort world - the rent boys at the heart of this story live on the streets, barely scraping by, getting $20 a blow job and offering a second date free if the john will simply slip them an extra 10-spot. The authenticity that director Gus Van Sant brings to the film cannot be questioned as several of the boys featured in the film were actual street rent boys at the time. In fact, the most moving and evocative scenes in the film are when the camera stops the plot to simply interview these boys and let them tell their heartbreaking stories. Of course, the real tragedy here is that if these guys had only been born 20 years later they would have been able to go to the library, set up their own online profiles, find clients willing to pay them a reasonable amount, and have their own apartments rather than live on the streets. To watch the film in 2013 and know that this is not how their world had to be is completely unsettling, in a good way (and a very good public service advertisement for legalized, or at least organized, prostitution). The film's place in the history of cinema is fascinating. In 1978, Michael Cimino started a wave of introspective and dark independent films with his release of The Deer Hunter. That film's success would spawn a wide body of edgy, earnest and serious independent cinema that would last for more than a decade. My Own Private Idaho is, perhaps, the last important and commercially successful of this cinematic wave. A year later Quentin Tarantino would release Reservoir Dogs, effectively putting a nail in the coffin of this genre of film. Ever since, the genre has been extroverted rather than introverted, self-aware, meta and ironic instead of serious and message-centered. But there was no way for Van Sant to know that as he was shooting My Own Private Idaho. He was riding the success of Drugstore Cowboy a prophetic film arguing that junkies would turn away from street drugs and simply get high on prescription pharmaceuticals. This has certainly come true, as today we live in a world where Adderal, Xanax, Ambien and Oxy have replaced cocaine, pot, downs and heroin as the drugs of choice for the Millennial Generation. Of course, Van Sant could not have predicted the Internet, Craigslist and escort sites when he made this film, so if it doesn't understand that things would get better for rent boys in the future, it wasn't his fault. He was documenting the male escort world as it was and how he saw it, and the film deserves lots of accolades for its brutal honesty about the physical, emotional and safety challenges these boys face. At the heart of My Own Private Idaho are Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix, looking as beautiful as they ever will. As the years have gone by it's easy to forget how stunning both boys were in their youth. They were, to coin a phrase, prime in their prime. In fact, you could probably have a good time simply watching the movie with the sound off and staring at their beautiful faces and bodies. The two actors play boyfriends of a sort and play off each other as outsiders in the male escort world. Neither seems to really belong there Keanu because he comes from a wealthy family, and River because he suffers narcolepsy that can cause him to literally fall asleep in the middle of sex. River is in love with Keanu, who unfortunately is not in love with him. That Keanu, as soon as he turns 21 and his trust fund matures, will walk away from River and the rent boy lifestyle is inevitable. That River is too in love to realize this is also inevitable, but also heartbreaking. Along the way they will have adventures robbing a group of escort muggers, flying to Italy, becoming stranded on a lonely highway in Idaho, etc. The scenes where it is only River and Keanu on screen show Van Sant at the top of his game. They are intimate, powerful and authentic. This is the first time that Reeves would attempt serious acting (one could argue that it is perhaps the only time) and, at times, he shows some acting chops. Unfortunately, the scenes that involve the pair interacting with the other rent boys and their Fagin-style leader, Bob, are nowhere near as effective and show that Van Sant still had some growing up to do as a director. They are forced to belt out mock Shakespearean dialogue that would be much more at home in a stage adaptation of this story than it is on screen. It distracts from the authenticity of the film and become grating very, very quickly. It also beggars belief that these hardened boys and men of the street don't see through Reeves's character and realize that he's just a rich kid pretending to be on the skids. In the real world, I suspect they would have hustled him, rather than let him be a hustler with them. That said, it was the convention of this genre of indy film to do quirky things to set themselves apart from the dreck the studios were churning out. If Cimino can put an hour-long wedding scene at the start of The Deer Hunter, in counterpoint to the much shorter wedding that kicks off The Godfather, it stands to reason that Van Sant thought it reasonable to put iambic pentameter into the mouths of these youths in counterpoint to the hip slang that John Hughes was using for his coming of age teen films. Van Sant would go on to do better work with Good Will Hunting and Milk. Reeves would go on to do more popular work in Speed and the Matrix, but as a transitional film for both of their careers My Own Private Idaho works in a quirky way. And, of course there are the beautiful boys at the center of the film and who hasn't put up with a young dude spouting pretentious bullshit simply because he was hot enough to get away with it? cc boytoy.com 2013
  21. For those that have not read the information on Lucky's recent trip, he has posted several amazing reviews. Be sure to check these treasures out! http://www.boytoy.com/forums/index.php?/forum/253-theater-art-and-literature/
  22. Perhaps some of you have your own photos you can add to these? Esp. sauna boy photos?
  23. I saw this many many years ago and loved it. I did not know they were still doing this but am happy it is still around. I love these kinds of shows and yes, even if only 90 min. I found it was well worth it when I went.
  24. I have friends in NYC that loved this play and said it was one of their favorites this year. Great review Lucky!
  25. Gay Prague Take A Tour! Tired of the increasingly expensive cost of Western Europe rent boys, boy toys and beverages as the dollar slides against the Euro? Then, my beautiful bears, terrific twinks and cravilicious cockaholics, it's time to look East and explore Prague. Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and, with the advent of low cost airlines, has quickly become one of the few that has no off season. You can dance the night away and get your gay on 12 months a year! The city has a rich history and is where Mozart's Don Giovanni was first performed. It retains a medieval city center, is an easy to navigate pedestrian city, and is the most gay-friendly city east of the former Iron Curtain. In fact, the country estimates that it gets over 600,000 gay and lesbian tourists a year, drawn by the cheap beer, good food, beautiful buildings, and young, hip nightlife scene. You'll rarely lack for things to do in Prague, day or night! So let Boy Toy give you the low down on how to go down in this ho-town! Gay Hotel Tours The Prague travel industry is actively courting gay tourists, and wants to do everything they can to ensure that the homos are happy when they write home about Prague. Because of this, an entire string of specifically gay hotels have sprouted up in different parts of the city, and are easy to find when you look to book online. These hotels are not only gay-friendly, but they will, for an extra fee, take you on guided tours of the cruising areas in town, the hottest gay bars and clubs, the most popular saunas, and even set you up with escorts who will come directly to your room and can simply be added to the cost of your hotel bill. You also have the option of taking traditional gay-only tours of non-sexual tourist sites during the day, which are sponsored by the hotels. All in all, Prague makes it very easy to have an exclusively gay vacation and get hot and horny whenever you want to! The Prague Gay Escort Scene Prague has one of the most active gay escort scenes in Europe. But, you generally won't find them through traditional escort services. Instead, the rent boys either work the gay bars and clubs at any given gay watering hole, assume that at least 10 percent of the patrons are working boys - or else work directly for the various gay hotels. Drakes, Temple and Escape are the most well know and popular of the bars that have working boys. They are good year round but you may have to be a bit more patient and wait around for the right guy to grace your presence that you would in some other cities. The best strip action is in Escape. You may also find some of them working the saunas but the chance of that happening is slim. No matter where you pick them up, expect them to cost roughly half of what you would pay in Western Europe. If you decide to go searching Prague on your own without the help of a hotel tour, you'll find most of the clubs/bars and saunas in the Old Town, Vinohrady and Zizkov sections of the city. If cruising is more your style, then you'll want to visit the Andel Shopping Center, where the bathrooms are known gay pick up spots; the Podoli Bath, where the changing rooms are hookup spots; and Seberak Lake, where the nude sunbathers often take a break in the bushes with each other; the train station where cruising always seem to be going on. Gay Events In Prague There are two main gay events in Prague: the Gay And Lesbian Film Festival Mezipatra, and Prague Gay Pride. The film festival has been held every November since 2001 and the first Prague Gay Pride took place in August 2011 and will continue to be held at that time of year into the future. Both bring a lot of gay tourists into town, so you'll want to reserve your hotel room at a gay hotel several months in advance to make sure you aren't stuck with straight frat boys at a normal hotel unless, of course, that's your thing, in which case you MUST check out our guide to seducing straight boys! What To Do When You're Not Getting Your Gay On Even if you are the most dedicated cocksucker in the world, you'll want to spend some time with your dick in your pants. Luckily, Prague has dozens of great tourist sites here are the highlights. Prague Castle. Listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records as the largest ancient castle in the world, it is not only beautiful but offers impressive views of the city from the top floors. It will make you feel like a queen! The city's Gothic Astronomical Clock is another interesting site sitting right next to the theater where Mozart originally launched several of his most important operas. If you have Jewish ancestry, you'll want to visit the Josefav district of Prague. This is the old Jewish ghetto, and features the oldest still standing synagogues in all of Europe. Writer Franz Kafka's house is also here, as is the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe. This part of town alone is worth an entire day's walking. Finally, the Infant Of Prague is perhaps the most famous statue of Christ in the world. You'll find it in the Church Of Our Lady Victorious, in the Lesser Town section of the city. Come To Prague And Let's Get Physical! Ok, that's our roundup for your next gaycation in Prague! Book your trip now the boy toys are waiting for you! cc boytoy.com 2012
