  1. I have not reached the age to need a assisted care facility yet. But, I do think about the future. While I do love the idea of a "Golden Girls" type of situation, I am not sure that will happen. I had to put my grandmother in a facility last year at a cost of over 10k per month. The prices in the USA are crazy. I read this article below today on Flyer Talk and wondered if there were places in Thailand, Brazil, PR or other places that others heard about? http://www.flyertalk...mes-abroad.html
  2. That is fantastic! Congrats!

  4. Nielson's recently came out with the top 20 most memorable TV moments. They are: 1. Sept. 11 tragedy (2001) 2. Hurricane Katrina (2005) 3. O.J. Simpson verdict (1995) 4. Challenger space shuttle disaster (1986) 5. Death of Osama bin Laden (2011) 6. O.J. Simpson white Bronco chase (1994) 7. Earthquake in Japan (2011) 8. Columbine High School shootings (1999) 9. BP oil spill (2010) 10. Princess Diana's funeral (1997) 11. Death of Whitney Houston (2012) 12. Capture and execution of Saddam Hussein (2006) 13. Barack Obama's acceptance speech (2008) 14. The Royal Wedding (2011) 15. Assassination of John F. Kennedy (1963) 16. Oklahoma City bombing (1995) 17. Bush/Gore election results (2000) 18. L.A. riots (1992) 19. Casey Anthony verdict (2011) 20. Funeral of John F. Kennedy (1963) Naturally, as I was in NYC on September 11, that would be my top as well. I would also add to that list the Challenger Explosion as I was in a school room at that moment and I will never forget it. Also, the TV episode that was not to be missed when I was a kid was the Who Shot JR season opener. I think everyone I knew was glued to the TV. Any others?
  5. Great shots! Looking forward to this one. I hope it is better than the last Spider Man!
  6. I love twinks and I love muscle guys. This guy has a perfect combination of the two. I don't think he is gay, but I love his facebook videos. Anyone else I should be following on Facebook? http://www.facebook.com/pages/danny-kaganovich
  7. Congrats. Did you loose all your content? Where did all the threads go?
  8. The Wall Street Journal charges and so does the New York Times. This week, I noticed that now the LA Times has also started to charge money for reading the website after you read 10 or so articles in a month. I love news and politics and so I finally gave in and subscribed to the New York Times. I may do the same for the LA Times. But, I sure wish they would do an all in package where I could get them all in a bundle. I hate paying for news but it seems like this trend is going to keep going forward.
  9. Current rumor is that Condi Rice may be at the top of the list.
  10. One thing I always hate in Thailand is being charged an additional 2.5 or 3.0 percent for using a credit / debit card as opposed to paying cash. If I read this settlement right, it may mean that USA merchants will have the opportunity to do this as well. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/14/business/mastercard-and-visa-settle-antitrust-suit.html?hp
  11. I like the show and I can't wait to see how it ends. I just hope that Brenda stays loyal to her husband!
  12. So many things going on in this thread that I don't know where to jump in. First, sorry I have been away for part of this thread. I have been traveling and it was a long week for me. Lurker, your comments are very appreciated and I want to thank you for all you do for the site. I will try to follow your example and post more myself. I have been away for 7 weeks on a working holiday but now getting settled back in and will be around here more often. MSGuy, change is hard on all but this one will be good! All: please don't bring fights from the "other" site over to this one. I don't give a rat's ass what goes on over there and I hate it when anyone references something there like we all should know what is happening. I don't know what goes on over there and I don't care what goes on over there. I do care about what goes on here. All are welcome here as long as they don't come with vendettas from far away places.
  13. LOL I loved the hospital scenes while they were talking to her and around her. They really are a fucked up group of people that you simply have to love.
  14. Dropbox just upgraded its plans to larger amounts and my 100G plan was move to 200G free of charge. You don't normally get twice the amount for the same product but this was a pleasant surprise. http://www.digitaltrends.com/web/dropbox-doubles-cloud-storage-for-pro/
  15. Well, I have known about AC for many years as most people have. If you don't see that he was bullied to make a statement about being gay, you have not read the news for several years. It is obvious to me that there was a constant push by the media and bloggers to get him to make a statement on this issue. You may not consider that bullying, but I do. His sexuality was no ones business and while I am very happy that he came out "officially: I don't think he or anyone else should be forced to do this by those who want him to be a role model (gays) and those that want to end his career (right wing nut jobs).
  16. I had a few discussions with friends about this and they all love Burma. They think it has great potential and they said they were treated with great kindness when they visited. They did say that the infrastructure in place has a long way to go and that it is not as easy to get around as Thailand but the people are fantastic.
  17. I have always enjoyed political discussions about Thailand and I loved her Heddas Hopper on Baht-Stop. I think you are wrong in that many don't share political interests in Thailand politics. That has never been the case with those I have met and talked with. Yes, I guess I prefer to talk about the bars and the scene there as I know that area. I am not as up to date on politics in Thailand as you and others and could never really contribute to your discussions on any board about this as I had little to contribute. However, you may have more readers and followers that you know and I always enjoyed your take on these issues.
  18. Sexy! I like them both.
  19. If you are like me and have trouble with keeping up with your ever changing remotes, try the Logitech Harmony One. It is an amazing product which I think I paid over 200 USD for. However, a friend just bought one for 109 at Radio Shack using coupon code SAVE20. This is a great little device and easy to use and set up! https://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11768289&prodFindSrc=cart
  20. I had a nice room with full breakfast for less than 125 a night at the Marriott. Yes, I know expensive for Thailand but I love the hotel. Lookin, you can get rooms in the gay area for around 50 USD a night. see: http://www.ambiancehotel.com/ http://www.caferoyale-pattaya.com/ http://www.copapattaya.com/ If you wish your own apartment, firecat stays at condos for around 50 USD a night I think. He loves it as total privacy and your own room near the big mall. He uses a service to book. Let me know if interested and I'll get info. Also, there are tons of cheap hotels for 25 USD a night. But, the ones listed above I know and would have no problem staying in any of them.
  21. The Christian group Exodus has stated that they CAN'T cure homosexuality! Holy Shit! (No pun intended) I can't believe this. After I have lived my life in sin and has sex with more guys that Tracy Lords, I was planning on retiring and finding a lady and settling down. Now, I hear they won't be able to cure me. I am shocked I tell you. Shocked. http://www.towleroad.com/2012/06/exodus-international-no-longer-trying-to-cure-gays-but-still-think-gays-are-sick.html However, they still think gays are sick. I don't know what they mean. I was with 2 twinks, a muscle boy and a set of twins this week in Bangkok and I didn't think it was sick at all. In fact, I think they cured any symptoms I may have had for lusting for a lady.
  22. Hoover, it had to star someone I wanted to have sex with. It was in my contract.
  23. My room was very quiet and peaceful. But, the pool was noisy as there were lots of kids running around. However, the BF has his son over on weekends so it was good that there were other kids for him to play with. I agree it is a much more family place now and that is pretty true of most places I have been on this trip in LOS.
  24. haha. I don't know much more. Went to Bangkok Pattaya a few times and they were unable to cure it so I have an appointment in USA when I return. The doctors at the hospital suggested I only eat hotel food and not eat fruits, seafood, etc on my trip. I went to Salt and Pepper every day as I totally trust them and their food. I also ate at my hotel and at McDonalds. Other than that, I didn't eat out anywhere. But, I was sick before I got to Pattaya and to Thailand. Let me just say, Indian food didn't really agree with me too much.
