  1. I am sure most of you are on facebook, twitter or some other social media site. If you are, you most likely see lots of images with photos and words and motivational sayings. I get them all the time. Some I just love. I hope that many of you will post some of your favorites here. Post as many as you like but try to limit to one or two per day. Here is mine for the day.
  2. James and Daniel are twins. What sets them apart is that one is white and one is black – and the differences don't end there, as Joanna Moorhead discovers http://www.guardian....P=FBCNETTXT9038 Great story above! Read it if you have time.
  3. It is a very good show. I love the plot and the characters. I also love watch Jane Fonda. While she has a very minor role, I still enjoy it.
  4. Was that not the gayest video ever? Love it! I watch the show as well. Mostly for the eye candy. But, admittedly, I love vampire and werewolf flicks!
  5. From what CNN said, it is 96% effective. If that number is correct, that is pretty fucking amazing!
  6. Wow. chilling video. Absolutely amazing.
  7. Massive amounts are being spent early on this political season. Obama has been spending early trying to define Romney and has been successful in it. Romney has been playing catch up. If Romney picks the right VP, I am prediction that Biden gets sick and bows out and Hillary jumps into the ticket.
  8. I have not had a land line in 15 years. I use Skype and Vonage for Internet communication and cell phones when overseas.
  9. Adults who do not have HIV but are at risk of getting the disease will now be able to take a drug to reduce their chance of getting infected. For the first time, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved a drug for this use on Monday. The drug is Truvada, an antiretroviral medication made by Gilead Sciences, Inc., which was already approved by the FDA in 2004 to help control HIV infection. Truvada is a combination of two HIV medications - emtricitabine (Emtriva) and tenofovir (Viread) - into one pill that is taken once a day. As a treatment for HIV, it is always used in combination with other HIV drugs. Recent studiesshowed pre-exposure prophylaxis or PrEP can reduce transmission of the virus significantly–up to 96% - when uninfected partners of people infected with HIV took Truvada. Dr. Debra Birnkrant, M.D., director of the Division of Antiviral Products, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the FDA stressed Truvada alone should not be used to prevent HIV infection. It should be used in combination with other safe sex practices. http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2012/07/16/fda-approves-truvada-for-prevention-of-hivaids/?hpt=hp_t2
  10. I have not reached the age to need a assisted care facility yet. But, I do think about the future. While I do love the idea of a "Golden Girls" type of situation, I am not sure that will happen. I had to put my grandmother in a facility last year at a cost of over 10k per month. The prices in the USA are crazy. I read this article below today on Flyer Talk and wondered if there were places in Thailand, Brazil, PR or other places that others heard about? http://www.flyertalk...mes-abroad.html
  11. That is fantastic! Congrats!

  13. Nielson's recently came out with the top 20 most memorable TV moments. They are: 1. Sept. 11 tragedy (2001) 2. Hurricane Katrina (2005) 3. O.J. Simpson verdict (1995) 4. Funeral of John F. Kennedy (1963) Naturally, as I was in NYC on September 11, that would be my top as well. I would also add to that list the Challenger Explosion as I was in a school room at that moment and I will never forget it. Also, the TV episode that was not to be missed when I was a kid was the Who Shot JR season opener. I think everyone I knew was glued to the TV. Any others?
  14. Great shots! Looking forward to this one. I hope it is better than the last Spider Man!
  15. I love twinks and I love muscle guys. This guy has a perfect combination of the two. I don't think he is gay, but I love his facebook videos. Anyone else I should be following on Facebook? http://www.facebook.com/pages/danny-kaganovich
  16. Congrats. Did you loose all your content? Where did all the threads go?
  17. The Wall Street Journal charges and so does the New York Times. This week, I noticed that now the LA Times has also started to charge money for reading the website after you read 10 or so articles in a month. I love news and politics and so I finally gave in and subscribed to the New York Times. I may do the same for the LA Times. But, I sure wish they would do an all in package where I could get them all in a bundle. I hate paying for news but it seems like this trend is going to keep going forward.
  18. Current rumor is that Condi Rice may be at the top of the list.
  19. One thing I always hate in Thailand is being charged an additional 2.5 or 3.0 percent for using a credit / debit card as opposed to paying cash. If I read this settlement right, it may mean that USA merchants will have the opportunity to do this as well. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/14/business/mastercard-and-visa-settle-antitrust-suit.html?hp
  20. I like the show and I can't wait to see how it ends. I just hope that Brenda stays loyal to her husband!
  21. So many things going on in this thread that I don't know where to jump in. First, sorry I have been away for part of this thread. I have been traveling and it was a long week for me. Lurker, your comments are very appreciated and I want to thank you for all you do for the site. I will try to follow your example and post more myself. I have been away for 7 weeks on a working holiday but now getting settled back in and will be around here more often. MSGuy, change is hard on all but this one will be good! All: please don't bring fights from the "other" site over to this one. I don't give a rat's ass what goes on over there and I hate it when anyone references something there like we all should know what is happening. I don't know what goes on over there and I don't care what goes on over there. I do care about what goes on here. All are welcome here as long as they don't come with vendettas from far away places.
  22. LOL I loved the hospital scenes while they were talking to her and around her. They really are a fucked up group of people that you simply have to love.
  23. Dropbox just upgraded its plans to larger amounts and my 100G plan was move to 200G free of charge. You don't normally get twice the amount for the same product but this was a pleasant surprise. http://www.digitaltrends.com/web/dropbox-doubles-cloud-storage-for-pro/
