Judith Crist one of America’s most widely read film critics for more than three decades and a provocative presence in millions of homes as a regular reviewer on the “Today” show, died Tuesday at her home in Manhattan. She was 90. Her death was confirmed by her son, Steven. Ms. Crist came to prominence when film was breaking with the conventions of the Hollywood studio era while experiencing a resurgence in popularity. She championed a new generation of American directors like Steven Spielberg and Woody Allen and new actors like Robert De Niro and Faye Dunaway. Her commentary had many homes: The New York Herald Tribune, where she was the first woman to be made a full-time critic for a major American newspaper; New York magazine, where she was the founding film critic; and TV Guide, which most defined her to readers. Her reviews appeared there for 22 years at a time when the magazine reached a peak readership of more than 20 million. She was the “Today” show’s first regular movie critic, a morning fixture on NBC from 1963 to 1973. And she wrote for Saturday Review, Gourmet and Ladies’ Home Journal. A Harris Poll of moviegoers in the 1960s cited her as their favorite critic. When TV Guide decided to dismiss her in 1983 to replace her column with a computerized movie summary, executives told her that they might beg her to return in six months. The magazine was deluged with letters and asked her back three weeks later. I use Chrome and I do like it. It is fast and easy. I still use Firefox as well and love it. And, I also use Safari. LOL I keep all three open at the same time and use them for different things. One for business, one for XXX and one for personal.

I do wonder why they don't make big improvements in the place. I like it there and find good guys there but I hate the cabines there! Why can't they put some money into this as it seems to be doing great business?

With a stellar cast and excellent writing, I really enjoyed Moonrise Kingdom. I had promised a friend that I would see it with them as they are in town for the weekend and I said, "up to you." This is what they picked and I am so glad they did. It is a great little movie and it had my attention from the very beginning and never lost it. If this shows up in the theater in Thailand, run to see it!

This was also the first time I had seen Scott in several years and he looks fabulous. Hot, sexy and sophisticated! Truly one of the sexiest guys in LA!

I have just started 50 Shades of Grey and really like it so far. Of course, I know I'll enjoy it as I normally like books that are a little sexy. I ordered some of Gore Vidal's books but not have not started them yet. It will probably be over the holidays before I have time to read them.

It was really great to catch up with people I have met and always enjoyed their company as well as a few I have wanted to meet for a long time. I truly had a great evening and felt so comfortable and at ease and thoroughly enjoyed the conversations! I did get home past my bedtime and will pay for it the AM but thanks to everyone who showed up last night. A special thanks to Townie for organizing this and making the arrangements for the evening.
