  1. Thank you for this. I have never seen it and now have it on my to do list.
  2. Believe it or not, I don't think there is a loser in my situation. It is more Win Win. He is a good guy. He is good to me and I am good to him. We are both adults and been together for almost 8 years. It is a long time and it always has its ups and downs. But, in the end, as long as we are both happy with the result then we are both winners. IMHO
  3. LOL I am not sure the word "love of my life" fits but he is fun and keeps me in balance. Hard to do at my size.
  4. Was in Super A boys again last night and had fun. Met a cute boy. I ordered him a Heineken. He mamasan said Leo and I said no, Heineken. She brought over a Leo. I said no. She said already opened. I said not my problem. They brought him a Heineken. He sat with me for a bit and I had fun chatting him up. I started to look at the bin and the ladyboy mamasan took it away before I could count it up. I knew it was 100 baht each so I gave a 1k note. She returned with 100 baht less than the bill. I asked and she said, "Oh, sorry" and went to get the other 100 baht. So, she did try to rip me off and seemed pissed I ordered the boy a Heineken instead of a Leo. Be careful in Super A not to let them rip you off! I'll still go back as I enjoy the bar but I'll never leave without checking to be sure I have my wallet with me and the right change.
  5. While Bangkok is a large city, the old adage stands true, "the world is a small place." About 8 years ago on one of my first visits to Bangkok I met a boy named Boy. He was working at the old Boys Bangkok. He was sweet and adorable and very kind. I liked him so much I took him to Pattaya with me for 2 months to help me get set up there. Over the next year he came to visit me several times. Things did not work out with us as he was just too sweet and helpful and I like a bit of a bad boy. Boy never went back to work on Soi Twilight at any bar. I lost his number and put out as many feelers as I could but no luck. I had not really thought of him in years. He was in his mid to late twenties when we met so now he would be in mid thirties. Last night, I was walking down a street in Bangkok in an area where I wasn't expecting to see anyone I have ever known and this massage boy approaches me and says hi. I didn't pay attention until I heard him call out my name. When I took a better look, it was Boy. He works in a regular massage place and has a 5-year-old daughter and is married. He is still just as sweet as ever. Naturally, I got a food massage and he was wonderful. After he left me he went to the Wat to study massage and has been doing it ever since. His wife works at the airport and he works in Bangkok. There are so many times in my life when I see people I don't ever expect to see again. Boy was a delight to see and it was great to catch up with him. He asked, "Is that bad boy still with you?" I said yes and he laughed. He knew back then that we didn't work out, as he was just too sweet. The massage was great and it was fantastic to see him again. Never think that finding an old flame is impossible after they have dropped off the face of the earth.
  6. I didn't take it as prying.
  7. Thanks. I think many can relate even if they don't think they can. Yes, oh yes! It is over 7 years now and we have never had any major fight or argument. It is the little stuff that gets my goat. I have been pretty tame so far. I don't expect to curtail my activities too much. I'm only in Bangkok for 5 months and I intend to enjoy it daily. But, I am normally a 3-4 times a week sauna guy but with him living with me, it may be down to once or twice a week.
  8. Being a southern boy and growing up in the deep south, I sometimes get a desire for some good southern food. It is hard to find outside of the south in USA. I grew up going to Mardis Gras every year since I was a toddler. Bourbon Street was always a stop and I still remember my youth of looking inside a bar and seeing fuck shows on stage. I collected beads and necklaces for years and years. I marched in several parades with my band. Recollections of good Cajun food are infused with these memories. A friend took me to this restaurant. It is great food and reasonable prices. I had Spinach Artichoke dip for appetizer and Red Beans and Rice with Italian Spice Sausage for the main course. It was very tasty and good. They have special nights and all you can eat plates from time to time. Tuesday is Mexican night and I want to try that one night. The restaurant is a bit hard to find off of Sukhumvit Soi 22 but if you turn onto the soi from Sukhumvit it is the first left. You will walk through a gate and walk to the end of the street. There is the hotel and restaurant. They have masks from New Orleans parades on the wall and the atmosphere is very Louisiana feel. It is not a 5 star restrurant but more of a local dive and hangout. Yet, if you like Cajun food, it is very tasty! The rates were a bit over 200 baht for main courses and some of the stuff 300 baht. But, all in all, I thought I got a great deal. The owner was there and said a big thank you as we were leaving. The wait staff was fast and attentive. I know we have a lot of readers from the south. Give this place a try when in Bangkok and want to feel like you are back home! 9. I got number 3 right but the rest I flunked. And, I have even read this before. That tells you something doesn't it?
  10. Having been apart from my beloved for many months after our relationship ended, I found myself in the City of Angels and lost without him. So, like usual, he sends me an SMS to ask if he could come to visit and I said yes. He said how long and I said, "Five months." He said OK. So, the up and down, back and forth of my favorite boy in Thailand is back on again. For better or worst. But, at least I know I completely caved in before he did and he has got my balls where he wants them. So, I guess that makes him the boss now. LOL All appointments and schedules made previously need to be confirmed with him after his arrival. I'll know more when he gives me permission to attend events and outings. jk But, isn't it amazing when you find someone that is perfect for you (or at least the best sex in one country) that you just agree to all their requests? Life is always interesting in LOS but all my friends who visit me say that I should give him a second chance. So, I agreed. That and I just missed waking up beside him.
  11. You are right on target with everything you say! Traffic is the biggest issue. Trying to get a taxi from Central or Paragon in the late afternoon to go to Sathorn or those areas is crazy. I find the Skytrain easy to take and no problem for me. The traffic on Sathorn is a real PITA. I am not sure why it is backed up so.
  12. I had a review pulled by TripAdvisor once as I wrote a very negative review. It was put up and when I went to check a few months later, it was gone. No e-mail or information was ever sent to me. I was not happy this was pulled without consultation.

    The World

I have a trip planned to Hong Kong in a few months and am excited to see the hotel but more excited to see the car. I was always a Liberace fan and this seems to have been made for him.
  14. I didn't find the noise level bad but it is the same as most places on that level. I have been able to chat and have normal conversations there very easily. I have a Japanese lady friend I had lunch with the other day and she is very soft spoken and I heard every word. But, I am able to tune out other sounds pretty easy.
  15. If you are out for a stroll at Central World and want something to eat that is tasty and inexpensive, try Pizza Pizza by Yanni on the 7th Floor of Central World next to the market and the movie theater. They have great pizza (four cheese is yummy) and their lasagna is also very good. They sever pretty fast and the price is reasonable at about 220 for entrees.
  16. Thailand seems to be the place I feel most comfortable. But, it is also the easiest to find nice places to live very inexpensively.
  17. I have wanted to visit Costa Rico for many years. I'd love to know more about other places in the country. Who else has been there? What did you think? I have a friend who once went there 5 times a year from USA until he moved to Thailand. That was 10 years ago and he knows little about the scene now.
  18. A very long but beautiful story. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/arizonaliving/articles/2011/05/01/20110501gay-dads.html click here to see the photos: http://www.azcentral.com/photo/News/Other/18759#phototop
  19. New York Rangers forward Sean Avery has given his support to the New Yorkers for Marriage Equality campaign with a 30-second video. Avery is said to be the first New York athlete to vocally support same-sex marriage. The news was first reported by the New York Times. In the Human Rights Campaign video, Avery, wearing a white shirt and glasses, says: "I'm Sean Avery and I'm a New Yorker for marriage equality. I treat everyone the way I expect to be treated and that applies to marriage." After showing two shots of him in his Rangers gear -- with the statements "New Yorkers support full marriage equality" and "Do you?" appearing across the screen -- Avery finishes the clip by saying: "Committed couples should be able to marry the person they love. Join me in supporting marriage equality." "Sean Avery knows what it means to be a leader -- on and off the ice," Brian Ellner, senior New York strategist for the Human Rights Campaign, a national gay-rights group, said in a released statement. "As the first professional athlete in the state to publicly support marriage equality, his voice is sure to resonate. Like a supermajority of New Yorkers, he believes in the freedom of all loving, committed couples to marry." 20. Well, I am a Lit major and I learned something today. Thanks. I will know have to reread this sometime. Growing up in Alabama, this was required reading for everyone in high school that can read. OK, where do you get he wrote this?
  21. LOL Maybe. But, it is action packed and if you liked the first 5, you will like this one. If you didn't see the first 5, well, where you have been?
  22. Super A was dark and a bit dismal but fun. I call this soi the sleazy soi. I guess you know I like that a bit. In Super A, there were at least 4 boys that I thought were very sexy and would have taken home. That is 4 more than I saw in the bars on Soi Twilight last time I was there. So, I didn't really notice the dimness. However, I did notice that a bell rings when a customer is approaching and they all jump on stage. When the drink arrives, the boys sit down and seem to have zero interest in getting back on stage. Several boys approached us to say hi. I had one boy over for a drink at 100 baht and I was happy with this price.
  23. It is really scary that this is possible. I can't believe this could happen.
  24. Expat: Really? You don't think it will be up for an Academy Award? LOL So far, world wide take: 324,653,000 USD Amazing IMHO You are right, not great acting but it was fun for me to watch!
