Are you expecting mass rallies starting this summer?

I was watching an interview with Sully, the guy who landed the plane in the Hudson last year. He said he would not recommend the job to his kids as the airlines keep cutting the salary and the stress level keeps going higher. I think he said that there were many pilots now that have to hold 2nd jobs to be a pilot. That is nuts. If I were a pilot, I'd also go where the money is.

I had been looking at an apartment in LOS and it is a serviced building. But, the electricity is 6 baht per kilowatt. Is this expensive? Normal? I don't need a place until the end of the year but if I found what I wanted, I'll reserve it. I just thought this was a bit high.

I met Ian McKellen when I was in undergraduate school. We were doing a one month theater tour of London and we saw him on two different nights doing 2 different lead roles days apart. He was amazing. He met with our group afterwards and chatted with us. He was charming and amazing. He went out drinking with us afterwards as he was friends with my professor who was leading the tour. He was openly gay. I was not. That night played a pivotal role in helping me come out several years later.

The USA is in a pickle right now. It is a mess here. I love the country but the country is so polarized that little will get done and no politicians have balls to do what is need to set us on the right path. The Republicans only care about abortion and not taxing the rich. The Democrats don't know their ass from a hole in the ground and only care about the next election. They never understood the power they had for 2 years and messed up any chance they had by being wussies. Personally, I wish we had a strong 3rd party. Who do I love? Neither party right now. I am so disappointed that I doubt I'll even take part in the next major election. That said, I'll probably cave in when the Republicans nominate some nut job like Donald Trump or Sarah Palin to their ticket.

Happy Holidays to all. I wish I was in LOS to celebrate with friends and boys. I love Songkran and it is my favorite holiday there. Stuck in Texas and instead of rain, there was a huge wildfire that went on for 24 hours yesterday. All I could think of was "do they have wildfires in Thailand?"

I agree with you on the Thais but IMHO, far worst are the foreigners. In Pattaya, especially the young Arabs and young Americans. They think they need to rent the 1100 cc motorcycle to fly down streets crowded with cars and whiz in and out of traffic. They think it is cool.
