I have been trying to catch up on all the Oscar nominations that were announced recently. One of the movies that I watched this week is called Waiting for Superman. It is a documentary about the collapse and problems associated with the American education system. It takes several students and follows them before, during, and after a lottery process to get into charter schools. Davis Guggenheim (AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) is the director. He received a nomination for best director. This was an amazing story. I love his other work and I knew that I would enjoy this one as well. I did. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I watched it two times. Coming from a family of educators, I'm sure that this movie will be the topic of conversation at many dinners over the coming year. Waiting For Superman is a must-see. http://www.waitingforsuperman.com/

Has anyone tested the Dragon Dictate program? I have been using it for a couple of days and I really enjoy it. In fact, over the past few days I have not typed any messages into the Male Escort Review forum. The program does have a learning curve. But it is pretty easy to get used to and it makes the Internet experience a little bit more fun. The newest version of the program is going to be $199. For a limited time you can get it for $99. http://smithmicro.com

I know of many guys who have a Prince Albert. I don't know of many men my age, or even younger, who like the Prince Albert's. I know I certainly would not want one for myself. It seems like it would be extremely painful. That being said, for those that are into piercings and tattoos it must be a tremendous turn on. I am one of the ones that love tattoos. And I also love piercings. But I like the piercings on the ear, the bellybutton, the nipple, the nose, the lip, and the tongue. Perhaps my distaste for the Prince Albert comes from I've never really been with a guy who had one.

While that is a good sign, the key to successful Google rankings is having keywords that are searched often at Google. For the keyword of gay escort we are number seven. Naturally, rentboy.com is number one. The reason rent boy is number one is the scandal they had last year with the boy who handled the baggage for the preacher. That gave them thousands of links and high-quality publications across the world. It was SEO gold. I don't think it will be possible to beat them in the main keywords for several years to come. Before the scandal happened, we were consistently number one and number two with their website. For the keyword of male escort, we are also number seven. With rent boy being number one. On the BING search engine we fare a little bit better being number two.

LOL. Well, I grew up in Alabama and was always an Auburn Tiger fan. All my family rooted for the Alabama Crimson Tide. I wanted to be different than my family. So, to be different, and to be able to bet on football, I told everyone that I was an Auburn Tiger fan. When I got ready to attend college, I visited the University of Alabama. I had several members of my family that were in attendance at the University of Alabama. And I had several good weekends of partying at the University of Alabama. The university was way too large for me. I knew that I would get lost in the mass of bodies, large classes, and parties. Several of my relatives that attended the University of Alabama had a hard time as well. They partied their entire freshman year and had to transfer their second year. So for the entire football season. I root for both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the University of Auburn Tigers. When it comes to game day between both teams, I always root for the Tigers. Two years ago the Alabama Crimson Tide was in the national championship game in California. My entire family flew out to see the game. They won't spend the money to travel to see me in Los Angeles or New York, but they will spend the money to fly to see the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship. I am not really sure if I should take this personally or not. Growing up in Alabama, you learned that football is king. There is nothing else to do on a Friday night. My high school of 400 students, have a football stadium that would hold 10,000. Nothing was as important to the school, the community, and even to some churches, than the football team. Unfortunately, my body was too fragile to play football. LOL. Although, I did play with the quarterback a few times!

I love urinals. In fact, if I ever buy another home, I'll place urinals in every bathroom. I am not sure why most American homes don't build them. It would save countless marriages and sibling fights. (No, I am not into Water Sports for those of you that were wondering.) http://www.popmatters.com/pm/feature/126662-the-urinal-a-brief-functional-and-aesthetic-history/

Lurker, thank you for the links to the blogs. It is always amazing to me the amount of content that is available on the Internet. When I was growing up the only way for me to access the Internet was through America Online. There is a monthly fee I believe of 9.95. And that only got to five our 10 hours. I use those five or 10 hours to download porn. You wouldn't believe the overage charges that I paid on a monthly basis. And this was not that long ago. It's amazing the amount of content that is now available on the Internet. If all of these amazing blogs have been available on the Internet when I first started browsing on the Internet, I am sure that my overage charges would have been astronomically higher. I love the boybriefs.com website.

I agree with you. I think next week the show will start taking off even faster and get even better. I have been one of the ones that really enjoyed this season so far. I think the judges are doing a good job. I do think they need someone like Simon. But, I do think this season has been easier for me to watch as they were traveling around trying to pick the ones I go to Hollywood. I agree with you here daddy. I do think Jennifer Lopez is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. I also think that Angelina Jolie can give her some good competition. I have always liked Jennifer Lopez's voice and in the movies. I have no doubt in my mind I'm going to enjoy her as a judge on American Idol this year. I think she has gotten off to a great start this year.

I have a few questions for you. Do you forward all of the old names over to the new name? What would be the benefit of starting a new name? I do believe that a domain name is very important in the success of the website. Although you will get many domain names that are unimportant to the success of the site that usually has to do with a great deal of marketing and takes a webmaster a great deal of time to build up the traffic. A good name will often often put you at the top of Google very fast. So I've always believed that a good domain name is the first thing to consider when opening up a new website. If you start off with a good domain name, that you know will rise high in the Google ranking, you will end up spending less money on Google ad words. I know people that spend thousands of not hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to get high up in the Google rankings. If the domain name is the name of the keyword that you are looking to advance in the Google rankings, you get out of the gate faster than anyone else. That being said I have been watching your blog for a long time. I like it. I think it looks nice and I think the flow is easy to read and very comfortable. I know that I always use my bookmarks to find new websites. When websites change the URL of the website often times they lose traffic. Part of this is because people don't update the bookmarks in their browser. Part of it also is that every time you change a domain name and you stop working on that domain name you lose your ranking in Google. You need to keep the rankings in Google going high, and you need to keep people coming back to the site. If you look at the original Hooboy website, you will see that the domain name was not a very good one. However, he was able to make a great deal of money off of the website because the traffic was there. Once he realized the value of having the right domain name he started by and other domain names. I mention this only to show that any URL can be a successful domain name. The right domain name, however, puts you ahead of everyone else in the race.

Thank you very much for that article. I really enjoyed reading the article. I went to school in Baltimore Maryland. At that time I was at a all-girls school (except for a few of us). The Naval Academy was always invited to our school for dances etc. I still remember the Navy boys getting off the bus. The United States Naval Academy at Annapolis is a wonderful institution. I spent a great time great deal of time at the Academy with some friends. I was always treated with the utmost of respect. Also in Annapolis Maryland is a school that I dreamed about after I finish my undergraduate degree. St. John's College is one of the great books colleges. If I had everything to do over again, I think I would've attended St. John's College. Although when I was 18 years old I don't think I would've been ready for such a difficult and challenging program. It wasn't until I was in my early 20s that I was actually ready to excel in a university program. Thanks again for pointing out this article, it brought back a lot of great memories.

I think I will take the Steelers as well. I'm expecting that this is going to be an amazing game. Although I am in Thailand, and the game is very early in the morning, I will be watching with a bunch of straight guys in a straight bar trying to feel like I'm a real man. One of the things that I always enjoy about the Super Bowl is the commercials. I hear that Go Daddy has a special commercial for us this year. I also hear there will be several other surprises. So while I'm not a sports nut, I do enjoy a good football game. Professional football is really not my thing. Give me a good Alabama Crimson Tide game any day of the week. Or, the Auburn Tigers.

I think I am with you on this as well. I watched the first episodes but when this last one came out, I got bored fast and turned it off. I rarely do that but I think this how has run its course for me.

For such an amazing place to visit, I have always spent less time and money in Singapore for this reason. While finding guys to hook up is NEVER a problem, the thought of getting in trouble for this is enough to keep me away. Singapore is an amazing modern city with a great flare. I hope that the mentality of the people will catch up to the architecture and atmosphere.

West Hollywood is the gayest city IMHO. Even the police cars have Rainbow flags. I think the survey took other things into consideration.

Totally agree with you! If you walk around the soi, you will find many Arab establishments. I spoke with one group one day and they said they would love for Sunee to become all Arab restaurants and bars. Boyztown was great. But, I agree that some changes need to be made. I don't think it would take much. I do think it would take a different mentality for the owners of these bars than has run them in the past. Business as usual will not draw the Sunee crowd over to their places. IMHO

There was an art gallery that did copy paintings on the 2nd floor of Royal Garden for many years. I have used them at least 20 times and have been happy with the results. I suggested a friend use the place recently as he needed to get some painting done while in LOS. He went there but it is no longer there. Does anyone know where this place went?

Continuing their current policy of mass checks for drugs, underage sex workers and other illegal activities, police troops closed the go-go gay and transvestite street off Beach Rd. Pattaya, finding many male and females intoxicated or possessing drugs. 3rd February 2011[PDN] At 21.00 Police General Nantawut Suwnalaorng, Police Station Pattaya, led a troop of over 100 men associated with Office of the Narcotics Control Board to close 13/4 Soi Pattaya, Moo 9 Nongphrue, Banglamung, Chonburi. Following the plan of crime and drug clearance, the officers investigated for any illegalities or drug abuse of the workers in the entertainment venue, which mostly consists of gay bars or tranvestite beer bars. The officers blocked the soi, closing it from 2nd Rd Pattaya, to its end at Pattaya Beach Rd. The soi is an entertainment venue made up of go-go bars and beer bars for homosexuals and the third sex. The police had 50 set goals for the investigation. Checking each bar

Retiring Outside the U.S. No Longer a Foreign Concept
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
I agree. That seems like rolling the dice with your life. I have seen firsthand the treatment that you get in Thailand if you don't have coverage or you don't have money. If you have one or the other, you will be fine and well taken care of. However, to go without either is nuts. IMHO -
Retiring in another country used to be a foreign concept to most Americans but it

Thank you to everyone who posted in this thread. There was an opportunity for me to buy a domain name called falang.com. I thought about it for a couple of days and decided that it wasn't going to be worth the price that I was going to pay for it. If it had been the correct spelling of the word with the R as opposed to the L, I probably would have purchased the name for a greater price. Names like this come up on auction all the time from people who let the names expire. I had a set price in mind that I was willing to pay for the domain name. The comments in this thread helped me to decide that I should not pay a high price for the domain name. Thank you.

There was a recent movie out about a samurai. I believe that the lead actor was from Korea. He was absolutely gorgeous. I believe I watched the movie four times just to get a look at his beautiful body.

The report that traveler Jim posted for so many years were always very beneficial to me when I was outside of Thailand. I always enjoyed opening up the website and seeing a traveler Jim post with the different venues that were hosting events. It was a way for me to keep in touch and to see the things that were going on a place that I love so much. I am on the e-mail list for the Pattaya Gay Report. I enjoy getting the e-mails but they are no longer the full information source that they once were. I know that the men that are responsible for these e-mails do this voluntarily and do not get paid. It is not a moneymaking venture. It is something they do because they love Thailand, and because they love the gay community in the Land of Smiles. I respect them for that. And I hope that they continue with the e-mail updates as well as the website. However, I do miss the old reports and the old format.

When I was in Cambodia on a recent visit I felt very comfortable and very welcomed. I was not in Siam reap. I was in Phnom Penh. I felt very comfortable going around the city as an openly gay man. I felt very comfortable going to the gay bars. I felt very comfortable going to the gay massage parlors. Basically, I felt very comfortable doing just about anything I wanted to do in Phnom Penh. I do have friends that have gone to Siam Reap before and have had NGO groups follow them around the city. They were not looking for, nor were they taking any young boys. But, they were seen going into a gay bar in the area and they had people that followed them the rest of their trip. When something like that happens it makes you wonder whether you're in the right location. I love visiting Cambodia. I love visiting Phnom Penh and Siam Reap. And I plan to go back many times in the future. But if they're going to do an active campaign that is going to attract gay people from all over the world they need to make sure that the NGOs in the area are not just indiscriminately following anyone who goes to a gay bar.

I think what you meant was the body mass index. When you said the boy mass index I got a little bit excited.Though I was picturing in my mind how many different Thai boys I was overweight. I have struggled with obesity my entire adult life. It's not something that comes easy for many of us to alleviate. I love exercising, riding bikes, jogging, Muay Thai boxing, and just about any other form of exercise out there. But I also love food. That is probably the biggest problem I have is that food is just often to delicious to put down. I don't eat a great deal of food but the food that I do eat is often not the best quality food. I try my best to eat all-natural things when I am in Thailand. But I find myself giving in to the 24 hours a day seven days a week McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken delivery services. Also find that the hamburger lady I go to near Soi Sunee is a very convenient, and very cheap daily habit.
