I am not sure. Perhaps control? I have been to Babylon several times and was hit on by very handsome Thai guys but never was interested in a dark room. I guess I much prefer the comfort of my own room most of the time. When in Brazil, I don't have much of a choice for safety reasons I would would take most of the guys to my room.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Tens of thousands of "red shirt" demonstrators marched in Thailand's capital on Sunday to demand the release of the movement's leaders in their first rally since the lifting of an eight-month state of emergency last month. The protest by about 30,000 people aimed to pressure the government to end what the red shirts say are unlawful detentions and suppression of dissent in the wake of deadly clashes between troops and demonstrators last year. The latest request for bail for the leaders, charged with terrorism, was denied on Tuesday and the march from two symbolic locations where 91 people were killed and more than 1,800 wounded showed the movement's strength had yet to wane. The mostly rural and urban working-class protesters gathered at Democracy Monument in Bangkok's old quarter before moving on foot and on motorcycles toward a downtown shopping district which they had occupied for seven weeks last April and May. Troops had forcibly dispersed the demonstrators on May 19, prompting a spree of arson attacks and rioting that marked the country's worst violence in decades. More than 1,000 police were deployed to maintain security at Sunday's rally. The protesters planned to light candles and release thousands of balloons in memory of those killed during the clashes. The "red shirts" blame the government and the army for the deaths, which they say have not been properly investigated. The rally took place at the Ratchaprasong intersection outside Southeast Asia's second-biggest shopping mall, Central World, owned by Central Pattana. It was one of several malls and luxury hotels shuttered for weeks and was one of more than 30 commercial buildings set ablaze during last year's riot. http://ca.reuters.com/article/topNews/idCATRE7081RY20110109

I'll admit that I am not really into saunas unless they are full of moneyboys. The ones I go to in Brazil are filled with them and a great deal of fun. My first trip ever to a sauna was in NYC many many years ago. I enjoyed it as a learning experience but didn't return as it was just not something I wanted to do again.

LOL It was a great post with amazing information that I didn't know. I admit that I know little of the history of China or Asia for that matter and this post got me interested in learning more. Thank you FH!

I had a great afternoon at Hero. Hero is always the best for me in Bangkok But, the number of boys were no where near recent visits. The mamasan said that they were packed the day before but few boys showed up when I was there. The mamasans here do tell the truth. They are reliable and the boys deliver. The massages are great and the guys are handsome. I didn't really like the selection today but I choose one new guy for one massage and a regular boy for another. The first guy was 32 and the other was in his late 20's. Hero has more older guys and there are few (if any) twinks there. The rooms are reasonable and the expected tips are as well. I think the room was about 500 baht and the tips were 1k. I did eat at the restaurant and the food is very inexpensive as well. Hero is always a fun way to spend the afternoon. Well, the location is fantastic. There is no better place to sit and have drinks and watch the boys go by on this soi. I ordered the beef stroganoff. To say it was mediocre is an understatement. I should know better than to get a beef dish in an inexpensive place in Thailand. It was not a good dish. I then ordered a desert and it was a similar experience to the main dish. While I did not enjoy either dish, I did enjoy the view. The place has the perfect place to sit and watch. It is a people watching heaven.

Went to Dream Boys and had a great time. The boys on stage are fantastic. They have a wide variety of guys and over 100 available. The show at the bar is always great and he owner puts money into putting on a good show. Drinks here are 300 baht for the first drink and 260 for the second. IMHO, that is too high but it seems to rake the customers in. If you spend a night at Dream Boys, you won't be able to tell that tourism is down.

A punter meets a young escort in a bar. They talk; they connect; they end up leaving together.. They get back to his place, And as he shows him around his apartment He notices that one wall of the bedroom is Completely filled with soft, sweet, cuddly teddy bears. There are three shelves in the bedroom, With hundreds and hundreds of cute, Cuddly teddy bears carefully placed In rows, covering the entire wall! It was obvious that he had taken Quite some time to lovingly arrange them And the boy was immediately touched By the amount of thought he had Put into organizing the display. There were small bears all along The bottom shelf, Medium-sized bears covering the Length of the middle shelf, And huge, enormous bears running All the way along the top shelf. He found it strange for an Obviously masculine guy To have such a large collection of Teddy Bears, He is quite impressed by his collection, a rich client. But doesn't mention this to him. They share a bottle of wine and Continue talking and, After awhile, the boy finds himself thinking, 'Oh my God! Maybe, this guy could be the one! Maybe he could be the client to set me up for life?' He turns to him and kisses him Lightly on the lips He responds warmly. They continue to kiss, the passion builds, And he romantically lifts him in His arms and carries him into his bedroom Where they rip off each other's clothes and make hot, steamy love. He is so overwhelmed that he responds with more passion, More creativity, more heat than he has ever known. After an intense, explosive night Of raw passion with this sensitive guy, They are lying there together in the afterglow. The boy rolls over, gently strokes his chest and asks coyly, 'Well, how was it?' The guy gently smiles at him, Strokes his cheek, Looks deeply into his eyes, And says: 'Help yourself to any prize from the middle shelf'

Traveling around the world a lot makes finding good BBQ IMPOSSIBLE. I am a southern boy and I love my BBQ. But, there is no place like Memphis, TN. IMHO

Sad end. Plus, hard that it is so publicized.

JC Taxi 087-449-4815 chairoyal_999@hotmail.com I use them often to get a full van and it is about 1200-1500 baht. They go from Bangkok to Pattaya or vice versa for 1300. They have new and clean cars. The drivers are nice but not perfect English. However, they always know where they are going.

I saw this magazine and thought you did a very nice job! Wishing you great success in this business! It looks like you are off to a great start!

Fantastic. Wow, that is a great deal of money. Keep up the great work with the fund-raising!
-
Yes, it is. It is a dump, lousy service, loud rooms. I hate it! Next time, try a hotel a bit further from the airport. They all have shuttles as well.

Boys are same rate for short time as MANY years before. The bar prices have gone up. Why? Well, there are so many Asian tourists (Sigapore and Hong Kong) that don't mind spending that money to see a show. It is cheap to them. For those of us that live here, it is not. But, it is still less than a drink at Splash in NYC!

The prices for the drinks in Bangkok keep going up. Went last night to two bars and the drink costs were 300 baht. That is now almost 10 USD. Absolutely nuts IMHO. I have never been sure how these places can get away with that here but they do. I stay in Pattaya the majority of time I am in Thailand and the drink prices are at least half of that.

New Yorker staff writer and Looming Tower author Lawrence Wright is writing what his agent calls "the most profound reckoning to date" with Scientology, told through the eyes of director and apostate Paul Haggis. This should be good. Haggis spent 35 years as a Scientologist before angrily and publicly ditching the cult in 2009 after he became convinced that leader David Miscavige is a violent nut. He hasn't spoken publicly about Scientology since, but a "blown" celebrity (to use the Scientological term for leaving the fold) like Haggis is Scientology's worst possible nightmare—it can smear and threaten rank-and-file detractors all it wants, but when one of its former leading lights is making the charges, it's harder to strike back. http://gawker.com/5725832/the-scientology-expose-weve-been-waiting-for

The letter was very moving. Thank you for sharing. It is not something that can read without great thought and contemplation. At times it was hard for me to read.

Great speech. It was nice he now feels so comfortable in his world that he is able to thank those he really loves and cares about. The world has changed a great deal since Doogie Houser hasn't it?

Expat, I hadn't thought of that to be honest but you are right. It makes perfect sense that this was their plan all along for the MacAir. I have never considered one UNTIL now. And, like you, I am a APPLE ONLY household. (except for the new Nokia Phone I just bought as it has a 12MP camera).

Getting a Mini Sim or Internt Plan in Brazil
TotallyOz replied to TotallyOz's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Thanks ihpguy. By a mini modem, do you mean one that needs a USB for access? -
I stayed at the Crown Plaza hotel recently and it is lovely. It is the old Pan Pacific Hotel and it is less than 5 minute walk to the gay gogo bar area and to Silom 4. The hotel is on Rama 4 Road and easy access to the Sky Train. They have a VIP floor that is great with lots of amenities. I have always stayed at the Intercontinental or Four Seasons and recently the Marriott Executive. The Crown Plaza is great for LOCATION. You don't need Tuk Tuks or Taxis. It is easy to get everywhere and I'm glad I found this place!

Tonight's dessert is Banana Cake with Strawberry Icing. Head to YaYa tonight for a great after dinner dessert and then have the Banana Cake before you take your other dessert back home!

Much like its ITunes Store, Apple has now officially launched the App store that you can download all kinds of great apps for your computer. For me, instant download is much more important than having a CD case that I throw away anyway. In order to see the App store in your dock, go to Apple Icon and Update. It will download a new update that requires you to restart your computer. When it is restarted, a new icon then appears! It has lots of Apps and I download 3 already. It is instant download and the account is attached to your ITunes store account. Way to go Apple! Again!
