  1. I didn't know you had access to my bank accounts. Truth is the economy has devastated me and I need your help. I assure you that if you put in the 5M needed to open the bar I'll pay you back with all the money left over. After-all, we would need only 138,000 baht per month after rent and all expenses just to cover the money you put in. I am sure this is possible. If you have doubts, let me just say, I promise it will be a great success! I agree with everything you said Z909. Except the last statement. In Sunee, there is not much competition. There use to be and you are right, it made for better bars IMHO. I am saddened to know you are not going to open your own airline. I was looking forward to some cute Thai boys as stewards. Damn, I guess I'll have to settle for Singapore Airlines.
  2. Shocking I tell you! Shocking! Keith Olbermann was MSNBC's most popular personality and single-handedly led its transformation to an outspoken, left-leaning cable news network in prime time. Despite that, he often seemed to be walking on a tightrope with his job. Friday night, it snapped. Olbermann returned from one last commercial break on "Countdown" to tell viewers it was his last broadcast, and read a James Thurber short story in a three-minute exit statement. Simultaneously, MSNBC e-mailed a statement that "MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract." The network thanked him and said, "we wish him well in his future endeavors." Neither MSNBC President Phil Griffin, Olbermann nor his manager responded to requests to explain an exit so abrupt that Olbermann's face was still being featured on an MSNBC promotional ad 30 minutes after he had said goodbye. Olbermann was nearly fired in November, but instead was suspended two days without pay for violating an NBC News policy by donating to three political campaigns, including the congressional campaign of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. He returned and apologized to his fans, but not the network. For the full story: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/nation/7392738.html
  3. I thought that was clear to most reading this. Who are you trying to help? Who was confused?
  4. I am not involved in Ocean 1 and I gain nothing from its success or failure. But, before this great venture is built, I'd love to see the infrastructure in Pattaya improved to handle such a massive building. Better yet, how about before 100 more View Talay buildings are built is it possible to see the ocean cleaner? or the roads improved?
  5. LOL Mark7711. I was not referring to your bar. As you know, I rarely go in the bar. When I have gone in, I have been OK with the music. If not, I would have left. But, as to your assumption that I have the Pattaya Blues, you are mistaken. That is not something new to you. But, don't assume anything on me. I don't assume things on you. I didn't mention you or your bar so I don't know why you got your panties in a wad. On the same note, if you read over my posts on this and other sites, I have done nothing but compliment your bar and the way it is run. However, if you want some advice, I'm happy to share with you. There are several areas that could be improved. But, if you get this upset when I mention "a bar" I would hate to see your reaction if I said something negative about your bar. As far as opening a bar in Pattaya, I have ZERO desire to do that and if any friend of mine was going to do that, I'd advise against it. I have also written posts in the past critical of a restaurant. That doesn't mean that I want to open up one of those to show how it is done either. Tonight, I went to the movie and I enjoyed the show but I thought the script should have been a bit more detailed. You also won't see me jumping on the plane to go to Hollywood to produce or direct a movie. In other words, if I wanted to do something with a bar in Pattaya, I would do it but just because I am not opening a bar doesn't mean I don't have the right to my opinion. Like my mother always said, "opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one." So, feel free to take my opinion on loud music or dismiss it. I don't really care one way or the other. I'm just another asshole trying to tell someone how to run their business (or that is what you may think.) But, I really do want Pattaya to be a better destination for gays. I want Sunee to shine in that area. Don't get upset with a supporter of your bar and the area you do business because you get upset or paranoid that someone is talking about you or your bar. Pattaya is a fun city. Some bars are well run and others are run like crap (I used crap as not to offend you by using the word shit). Heaven forbid that the "f" word is used by anyone reading this thread or frequenting gogo bars in Pattaya. I am sure all of those that go to the bars are there for the "entertainment" only and never would use the "f" word in conversation or in any other way. Right? When bar owners decide not to listen to what customers want, it is then that they will see their business drop. My money is my fucking business and I'll spend it where I want to spend it. I'll also decide if I want to spend it in a place that has loud music or if I'll avoid the place like the plague. I am one of the people that don't mind wasting a shit load of money in a bar. But, I'll do it in a place that appreciates it and that is comfortable to sit and chat with someone. Like you, if it sounds like my panties are in a wad, I apologize. But, jumping on someone who has complimented you over and over and brought customers into your bar is a bit over the top for me. So, I'll just say thank you for your comments and I wish you and your bar great success. And, that I do truly mean. Yes, it would. Perhaps I will. Can I borrow 3 million baht to buy a 3 year lease and then another 2 million to renovate it? I promise I'll pay you back!
  6. I was in a gogo bar that I spent at least 7k baht every month and when I walked in last night and the music was OK so I entered and bought a drink. I enjoyed the guys on stage for a bit. Then all of the sudden, the music started blaring so loud that one could not hear someone next to them. I politely asked the waiter to turn it down. No luck. I then asked the mamasan. No luck. I got my bill and left. I told the owner on the way out how loud it was and most falangs don't like it that loud. It seemed to go inside one ear and out the other. The attitude for most gogo bars is they don't give a fuck. It is high season and they are going to get customers and they won't cater to a group of 5 or 6 even if they are regulars year round. During low season, the begging to come in for just one drink will return. But, high season carries a certain "I'll do what ever the fuck I want" attitude. Why can no one with any business savvy open a gogo bar in Sunee Plaza and make it?
  7. Who is watching this season of American Idol? I am. I like Jennifer Lopez on the show and the chemistry between the judges seems much better so far than in past seasons. I have not seen any fantastic talent jumping out at me but I hope that I will soon!
  8. What would be the difference in the scene in question here and that of Harry Potter's Equs performance?
  9. I read the articles you listed and I had to laugh. The main scene in question was one where a boy runs down the street naked. I didn't see anything sexual in that at all and I think crazy to give into the censors. That being said, I would not want the producers to risk jail time over this. I am sure if they did, the ratings would soar. May I ask someone that knows: Does MTV doing this on Cable have more leeyway than say ABC, CBS or NBC?
  10. Thank you Lucky for the kind words. They are very much appreciated. I would also like to give a shout out to TampaYankee as none of this would be possible without him. He is the backbone of the site. He and I have worked together on this site since the very beginning and we rarely have disagreements. We seem to compliment each other and bring out the best in the other one. I am sure many successful sites have the same flow. I have said for years that I would not have done this site without TY and it is true. He is my ROCK! Much like Deej is Daddy’s rock. When you do a project with someone, you always need to choose carefully and find someone whose integrity is unmatched. I did that when I found TY and it was the best decision I ever made. I have often wondered what the escort world would be like today if Hooboy were still alive and I am sure it would be much different environment. He was preparing to leave his hosting partnership and jump into bed with a well-known escort site. I am not sure how this would have panned out for him but I am sure it would have been exciting to watch. MER is a site that was created with a great deal of love and time and effort. When someone enjoys it and participates here, it really does make it all worth it. Thank you Lucky for the kind words!
  11. When I first started visiting Pattaya, I was always entertained with great shows and full crowds. It was not often that I was in Throb/Splash that there wasn't a full crowd. I have been in the Boyztown area for several nights this week as I had a friend visiting from USA and he wanted to see the gogo boys there and he always enjoyed the shows. However, every show I saw was a bore. No enthusiasm. No sexy guys. No creativity. What happened to all the great shows in this area?
  12. I'll pick the team that has Taylor on the sideline.
  13. I think the quote you were referring to was about the company who built the View Talay I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII on the Jomtien Beach. I think (never a good thing) that we are using this tread to talk about 2 different things. The overall theme is Real Estate and there is one line of thought about Ocean 1 and there is another theme that is talking about View Talay. I brought up the View Talay on the beach as they are building right in front of their own properties. I think this is outrageous. And, as I live in VT6, I have no doubt that once they sell all the condos here, they will try to build right in front of it.
  14. Having lived here for a while, I do believe they pick on the gay areas disproportionally to the girl bar areas. I would say 90 percent of the raids take place in gay areas while the gay areas make up less than 3 percent of the city venues.
  15. And anyone who buys into a place that is not at least half built is a moron. Sorry, but this is the truth. I would not be interested in putting money into anything in any building in LOS that is not in the works. And, by in the works, I mean I can see progress. I have nothing against Ocean 1 and I would consider it as an future home but not until I see it shooting up over the ocean. To do otherwise, would be foolish. I realize that this may put me at odds with those that get in early to make money. But, I am not looking to make money and flip anything I am looking for a place to call home. The closest thing I have found is View Talay 6 in Central Pattaya. But, they still have room in front of this by the water and with the shady history of that company, I would not want to buy a nice corner unit and then find out they were going to build another one of their buildings right in front. Do I think that is possible? Yes I do. The only other property I was ever interested in was the one in Jomtien that they may (most doubt it) have the top 14 floors knocked off. Was it an illegal build? I don't know but I'll be dammed if I would put money into any of these places with the uncertainty. It is like the Wild West of condos here in Pattaya. I don't like those kinds of deals. So, I prefer to sit my ass at home and rent until Thailand establishes enough laws to protect those that invest and learn to actually enforce the laws they have.
  16. I was expecting this: And got this:
  17. I have had similar experiences but the boys said they only had to pay 300 baht each time to avoid the pee test. So, as usual things can always be handled by a little money. I know MANY boys that have been to jail over yaba and everytime they come out reformed. Last night I was sitting in Nice Boys with a boy when the raids started. He has been telling me that the jail cured him of his problem and no more was he using. When the manager said the police were coming he got very sad. I asked him what was going on and he said he was worried about getting in trouble again. I asked when the last time he used Yaba, he said long time. He asked how long Yaya stay in pee pee. It told him I thought a month or two. He said, he may have a problem as he tried 2 weeks ago. I gave him some money and he quickly put on some clothes and left Sunee. Yaba is a hard drug habit to kick. I struggle daily with my addiction to Diet Coke and I know how hard it is to drink less. I can't imagine something as strong as the Yaba craving. I don't know the answer. I hate Yaba. But, it seem almost impossible to weed out of one's mind once they partake in the hidden fruit.
  18. Thanks. I wish something would work but randomly testing everyone and sending those away who can't afford it won't work. I don't know the solution to this either. But, I do wonder how many other areas of Pattaya were hit this hard. Will Sunee be a regular target? Or, will they also go after the straight bar areas who pay more tea bag money? My main gripe has always been I think Sunee is unfairly singled out. Perhaps I am wrong in this assumption but it is still there.
  19. LOL I think it was all the 20baht notes in my pocket. I did enjoy dinner with you as well! I agree the boys here are younger and thinner. IMHO, it is twink heaven! I have been referring to them as boys for years as I consider anyone under my age a boy. Aces, that had me laughing for an hour. Thank you!
  20. In a show of force, police from several departments swarmed into Sunee Plaza tonight. They had officers at every gogo bar and beer bar I saw. I did a quick sweep of the Plaza and counted at least 120 officers. I don't know how many were actually there but they were checking for ID's and doing pee tests. I don't know the final outcome of what happened but it was a fast and furious show of strength. IMHO, a real waste of money and effort.
  21. We have not put a link to this area on the top menu bar. This will make it easy for all to see!
  22. I met up with Lucky recently as well. He does get around doesn't he? I enjoyed the conversation and though he was fun to spend time with. It is always interesting to me to meet people that I have pictured in my mind for years. Often they are nothing like what you expect and often you end up really liking the person behind the name you have been so familiar with.
