I spend a couple of months a year in Hua Hin, it’s my favourite long stay destination. The gay scene is tiny but the apps are active. Because it’s a large Thai town not dependent on foreign tourists, it’s much more authentic than places like Pattaya, Patong or Chaweng. It doesn’t get a lot of Russian or Chinese tourists. Local food options are endless, it has a great night market plus two more weekend evening food markets, a day market, a superb long beach for walking, malls for shopping and great hotels. It’s spread out over quite a long distance on the Phetkasem highway, so picking the right spot to stay is key.

    First Impressions
This was my first time in Argentina, and I came in with an open mind. Immigration at Ezeiza took about 45 minutes, and the agents weren’t exactly friendly—a tone I’d notice again during my stay, as hospitality in general felt less service-oriented than in other places I’ve been. Still, Buenos Aires had an undeniable energy, and while I wasn’t drawn to most guys I saw, a few definitely caught my attention.
    Where I Stayed
I booked the DoubleTree. It felt expensive for what it was—an older property that could use some renovations, and staff that weren’t particularly warm. On the plus side, the bed and linens were comfortable, so I slept well, which matters most on a busy trip.
    Money & Weather
The weather was chilly but pleasant—not too cold. What wasn’t so pleasant was trying to get money: no ATM would work for me. I had to Western Union myself money twice. The casas de cambio were very strict, only taking perfect $100 USD bills, otherwise the rate was terrible. Western Union ended up being the best option, even if inconvenient.
    Food & Restaurants
Luckily, I had a Cuban friend (who used to live in Buenos Aires) show me around. Two standout steak restaurants were Parrilla Peña and Santos Manjares—both excellent. My first attempt was at an Italian-style steakhouse where I mistakenly ordered a bife de chorizo thinking it was filet. It was actually more like a strip steak and came out tough. Lesson learned: order the lomo de bife (tenderloin) instead—much better cut and very tender.
    Nightlife & Gay Scene
The gay scene had a fun variety. My boyfriend and I checked out a few bars that were more like sex clubs with drinks—okay, but nothing to write home about. One ongoing theme: way too many bottoms, and the tops were like roosters in a henhouse.
We hit Zoom Bar, Boys Bar, and Contramano (which felt like a throwback to 80s cruising culture). Our last night we went to Glam Disco for their MA.CHO night, which reminded me a little of DJ Station in Bangkok—energetic, crowded, and good music.
My boyfriend went solo to Full Sauna one night—he said it was packed with about 500 people. It’s an old place that could use some remodeling, but he had fun anyway.
    Highlight: Hard Rock Cafe #90
A personal milestone—this trip included my 90th Hard Rock Cafe visit worldwide at the Puerto Madero location. The staff there treated me like a star which  made the night unforgettable. Management covered the food and drinks for the three of us, we took pictures with the entire staff, and they even gave me a signed HRC shirt. It was hands down the highlight of my time in Buenos Aires.
    Other Notes
I checked Skokka out, a site with escorts—most guys were asking $100–150 USD. Knowing I had Rio coming up next, I passed. If I didn’t have Rio on the horizon, I might’ve considered, but it wasn’t worth it this time.
    Overall
Buenos Aires was a mix of highs and lows: chilly but nice weather, frustrating money logistics, solid steak dinners, and nightlife that ranged from nostalgic to fun. While I wouldn’t call it the most welcoming city I’ve visited, the highlight at Hard Rock Cafe and a few nights out definitely made the trip memorable. And my boyfriend—being a top—certainly had no problem finding his share of fun. 😉

Next stop was Iguazu Falls, no sex, but was available on Skokka and Grindr...definitely more a tourists stop for us with AMAZING water falls and Hard Rocks # 91 and 92 🤷‍♂️

4th trip this year. Yes, I can hear the groans and silent cursing of many forum members.
6 days 5 nights. Thursday to Tuesday. Extended weekend. I decided to take a trip because favourite forum members happened to be in Bangkok at same time.
Purposely kept trip a surprise from my regular guy at Freshboys. I concocted an elaborate plan go surprise him because I wanted to see his reaction.
The plan was other forum members go into Freshboys first. I will wait downstairs. They will get him to sit with them. They will then blindfold him. After getting signal from them, I will go inside, sit close to him, hold his hands, say his name and see his surprised face when he takes off the blindfold. Then we will hug and kiss. And everyone around us will be happy for us.
    Well, that was the plan.
Who knew that at relatively early time in the night (10pm), my guy would be seated and drinking with a guy with bottle of whisky!!!!!!

I'm new to this so please bear with me. I'm also typing on my phone (which I'm not used to when making reviews) so there might be some grammatical errors. Thank you for understanding.
I already planned to visit Jey Spa and History of Massages before arriving, but Klover was unexpectedly added to my list. I also wanted to try S'Sense but I skipped it because the masseur I chose was either fully booked or was having his day off.

    Jey Spa
It was already late in the evening when I messaged their Line, and I asked who were available. It was hard to choose as I wanted to try most of them. It took me a while to choose and finally decided to try Alex. I booked a 90-minute massage.
I arrived Jey Spa and saw Blue and Vee outside. I feel like I regretted my decision because they were both hot in person! Way better than the photos! They were already leaving the place. I then headed inside and saw Alex. Okay, I didn't regret it! He's cute!
After paying, Alex led me to the room and I showered. He was already on his underwear and told me to lie down. The bed was quite stiff but his palms were really soft, so I didn't mind the little discomfort.
The first half of the massage was great with a few teases. He started massaging my legs and would swipe his hands between my butt cheeks which made me hard. For the other half, Alex surprised me with his big tool. It was huge, it was thick! He is also good with his tongue, especially when he licked my ears and neck. We did various positions, kissed passionately, and he really liked it rough. There was also a mirror in the room which made the moment steamier. We were both sweating and I told him I wanted to release already so he ate my nipples like a wild animal. I won't go into detail what else happened but I was really satisfied.
We showered together afterwards and I gave him the tip.
    To be continued...

I'm an ass man myself. I've rimmed hundreds of bar boys. Everyone loves a big dick, but it's not my first priority. If I see a bar boy with hairy thighs or a treasure trail, they'll be ruled out as they've probably got a hairy ass.  This is a problem in bars like BBB where they tend to be on stage fully dressed. As others have said, only a couple of boys over the years have returned the favor.

I once offed a stunningly beautiful bar boy in Pattaya. He was engaging, spoke English well, and was a real pleasure to be with. In bed, I parted his soft hairless cheeks to discover the worst case of anal warts I've ever seen. It was like a vinyard in high summer down there. A crushing disappointment, and an instant turn off. I saw him several days later and he complained he never had repeat customers. I do hope he got the medical treatment he sorely needed.

cheaper and still comfortable options in Jomtien Complex is The Venue and Zing Resort, both in complex itself.
Getting from Boyztown to Jomtien is no problem day or night, Bolt, motorsai or baht bus , all available.
If you want to stay in Boyztown area I suggest Classrooms above ABomb boy bar or Copa in Boyztown proper.
No issue with guests in all hotels mentioned in all posts of this thread so far, speaking from personal experience.

I remember chatting with some Japanese and Taiwanese guys around ten years ago. They were in their own groups of 2 or 3 and the conversation developed around nightlife. I asked what they liked most about Bangkok. The universal opinion was that all planned in their separate groups to go for massages, then to a gogo bar and finally to a disco like DJ Station. I rather innocently asked what type of boys they liked to take off from the bars. None, was the answer. They only went to see the shows. None of them had ever offed a guy! Going to a disco to end the evenings was the priority.
Given that this was the relatively new market starting to invade the gay scene in Thailand, it made me just a litte concerned about the future. Bars with boys for offs would obviously survive with the western tourists who still visited in some numbers and other individual Asians. But if a majority of Asians were not in the market for offs, I wondered how the bars would survive in the longer term. I still wonder!

I was in A-bomb a few months ago and my experience was the same. Only 3 customers for the short and not impressing show, maybe 5 boys who all quickly ran out of the bar and disappeared when the show ended. Drinks 350 baht I think it was. I am not in a hurry to return.
It was a good bar 10 years ago.

Some years ago a middle-aged Indian straight couple, both very overweight, wandered into A-Bomb one evening. They didn't sit or order a drink, but had a long discussion with the bar owner. After several minutes a guy from the bar was summoned by the manager, the Indian man handed some cash to the owner, and the worker and couple disappeared out the door. Not a word was said between the couple and the Thai lad - no interaction at all. I always wondered what service the lad had been committed to provide, because he didn't seem to have any say in the matter.

you mean time of day, time of week of time of year ?
as for day noting going on during daylight but after dusk you mat start circulating as boys will be heading for work and eating, alone or with their friends before that. Bars are at busiest  in show times i.e. 10-12 ( show start hours vary from bar to bar ), then bars are slowly emptying but rarely guys are heading home straight s and may be lingering , eating and drinking  or just standing somewhere  hoping for last minute deal  , I'd say midnight to 2 am are cruisiest hours .
as for week , weekends are busiest which ,means  more boys and more customers , better selection but also more competition for their charms.
mid week is slower and chances your  dream guy won't be snatched early are much higher but also he may be taking his day off when you visit his bar.
as for time of year, to low season the same criteria like for mid week apply with added bonus of lower hotel prices. sometimes guy are kind of desperate for business which may mean better service.
For high season selection is better , prices higher , boys may be rushy but there's no danger of you being only one customer in bar with all eyes on you.
Bottom line  is , whenever you will go , fun is guaranteed so don't overthink it

I woke up in a mild panic, thinking I’d slept through my alarm—but nope, it was only 8:45 p.m. Crisis averted. Still plenty of time to get ready before heading out to Surawong.
First order of business: a well-deserved foot massage. A little treat to get me in the right mood for the night. It’s one of those simple pleasures that just never gets old. Relaxing, quiet, cheap. Bangkok doing what Bangkok does best.
After that, I made my way to Dragon and Koi. It was already past ten, and from the outside, the place looked pretty dead—just a couple of customers inside. Still, I figured why not? Let’s check it out anyway.
As soon as I sat down and ordered, one of the hosts came over like clockwork. You know the drill—“Where you from?”, “How long are you in Bangkok?”—the usual icebreakers. But this guy was different. His name was Pi, and he could actually hold a conversation. I was genuinely enjoying our chat, so I offered to buy him drinks.
Turns out, Pi is from Myanmar. He used to be a science and math teacher back home and has a Physics degree (which, honestly, blew my mind a little). But because of everything going on politically, he left the country. He doesn’t want to be part of the current regime and ended up in Bangkok, trying to start over. He’s learning Thai and hoping to teach again—either here or when things get better back home. It was a heavy story, but he carried himself with such positivity. I really admired that. We ended up talking about all sorts of things—he showed me pictures from Myanmar’s version of Songkran, and I could see how proud he was. I actually had a great time, and when I left, I made a mental note: I’m coming back here for sure.
On the way back, I passed by Atlas around midnight, but it looked kind of dead. So I pulled a U-turn and headed to Hotmale instead. Few customers, which was a relief—I never love being the only one with 10 boys on stage staring you down like you're the last chicken wing at a party.
Hotmale had definitely changed since last year. New faces, new performances, and even a couple of drag lip-sync acts thrown in. The red jogging pants were gone (RIP), replaced by white shorts, and in one act, black underwear. No complaints here.
I didn’t waste time and invited someone from the stage—James. And guess what? He’s also from Myanmar. I swear I don’t plan this, but I always end up with Burmese guys without realizing it. They’re just… really good-looking, okay?
When I asked about long time, James kind of danced around the answer, giving me some vague excuse. I was this close to sending him back, but then I looked at his face again and thought—eh, maybe a short quiet night in with good company isn’t such a bad idea. I already had two consecutive long time offs during this trip so maybe time for a break.
So  a few minutes later we were in a Grab taxi heading back to my hotel.

The trip kicked off with two nights in Tokyo, and let’s just say it was planned with a certain kind of experience in mind. I decided to treat myself to a couple of high-quality overnight sessions through Saboten Escorts (https://mens-salon-saboten.com/en/staff/ ) And since I figured I’d be spending most of my nights at their location, I cheekily skipped the hotel and thought I’d rough it by using a train station locker for my stuff. It sounded practical on paper and honestly, kind of adventurous too.
That said, reality hit when I realised I’d need to provide a local address on the arrival card. Concerned it might raise some red flags, I played it safe and booked a cheap hostel at the last minute. It worked out well—nothing fancy, but it did the job, and I still ended up saving quite a bit while keeping things simple and efficient.
    Kenji:

    And here's Taiga:

For both nights, I booked time with Kenji and Taiga, and wow—I lucked out. My sessions ended up being booked in a hotel (Hotel Queen Annex), which might’ve been because the shop itself was fully booked. Whatever the reason, I was grateful. The hotel was spacious and comfortable and both Kenji and Taiga were incredibly warm and eager to please, even with the language barrier. What made the experience even better was the casual time spent outside the room. They were game for dinner and drinks, which made everything feel more relaxed and less transactional.
Honestly, it was the perfect combo of physical fun and chill hangout vibes. I’d totally do it again, but two nights feels like the sweet spot—enough to indulge without going overboard.
After Tokyo, it was straight to Bangkok. I’ll admit—I was a bit nervous that two intense nights in Japan would burn me out before even hitting Thailand. But the moment I stepped off the plane in Bangkok, I felt this surge of energy. It’s that unexplainable buzz you get just being in this city. Immigration was a breeze—no line at all. I got processed and stamped in literally under two minutes. The baggage carousel, however, wasn’t quite as efficient—it took about 15 to 20 minutes before any bags showed up. Not a big deal though; I used the time to get a local SIM card and pull out some baht from the ATM. By the time I got back, my luggage was already waiting for me.
On the way to my hotel via a pre-booked shuttle, I took in the sights and was happy to see things feeling almost back to normal. The driver confirmed that tourism had been a bit slower than usual—probably due to the recent earthquake—but everyone’s optimistic that Songkran will bring a much-needed spike in visitors. Fingers crossed!
This time around, I chose to stay outside of Silom, in the Narathiwas area. It’s a quieter, more residential part of Bangkok—not walking distance from a train station, but it has its perks. The area has everything I need within a few minutes’ walk: a 7-11, some okay-ish restaurants, cafes, and even a laundromat. After the buzz and sensory overload of Tokyo, I actually appreciated the slightly slower pace.
Once I got to my room, I had that usual Day 3 jet lag creeping in. I was really tempted to just crash, especially after the last two nights of near-zero sleep. The bed looked way too inviting. I gave in and let myself have a proper nap, but not before setting an alarm for 9 PM. Jet lag or not, there’s no way I was going to sleep through my first night in Bangkok!

Great report. You doing very well for a newbie.
Glad to hear Arena did not disappoint you, they rarely do,  if at all. Satisfaction guaranteed there if you ask me.
Sorry to hear about Tawan guys chasing you out by being pushy. Sadly , it looks  it's how they chose to operate under new management and you not only one being chased away by their antics. It used to be friendliest bar by far.
You mentioned you think barkers (promoters) at Moonlight overlooked you  because way you were dressed . Highly unlikely though, nothing wrong with black t-shirt and shorts. Give a chance to Banana Club in soi 4 as well as Jupiter deeper in in the same soi.
Don't forget about Dreamboys on the 2nd floor opposite of HotMale and Moonlight which is favorite bar of undersigned, he, he.
Mahanakhon skywalk is the must, mornings are usually less crowded. While there make sure to check toilet  on the same floor elevators down are - quite possible best toilet view in the entire world !
As per losing what you typed, those accidents happen. Try to write report somewhere and only then copy  and paste there. You may wish to make more posts but shorter
( say one  or two days goings per post ).
Make sure you have fun day and night, there's no trip to Thailand like first one

    Day 2.5
To resist the urge of showing up in the bar early, I tried to distract myself by focusing on work and when that proved to be futile, decided to switch to the apps.
Grindr got a reasonable buffet of guys with varying rates quoted with the most common ranging from 1500 to 2000. This can be argued as reasonable if you account for savings from not having to pay entrance, drinks and off fee. But where is the fun in that? What caught my fancy was a good drizzling of gorgeous African guys. This reminded me of how much I miss and want to go back to Brazil but plane fare remains laughably high from where I came from (even my SA friends are unable to visit home).
I exchanged message with one of them who said he's from Ghana. He quoted 4000 and I responded with a non committal reply as I have plans to be out and about that night. We traded WhatsApp details just in case.
When i can no longer contain my excitement, I decided to taxi towards Surawong and treat myself to a foot massage. At least I can enjoy people watching while someone got firm hold of my feet preventing me from marching straight to the bars!
After the massage, I decided to head to Tawan. The nice beret wearing Uncle hastily ushered me inside while trying to explain that it's a "BDSM boy show" I responded with a wink and  he smiled. The interior did not change since I visited last year. I noticed though that there's a set of stairs leading to a second floor/platform/stage. Not sure if it's new or I didn't notice it previously as I was sitting quite far inside away from the stage last time.
One thing I appreciate with Tawan is the fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The guys roam around socialising with guests. I even saw one guest with his hands inside the guy's short for like forever. No judgement but I hope he gets an off or a generous tip!
Maybe I'm getting old but I swear Tawan's clientele especially the Asians are getting younger and younger. My gaze was low-key fixated to a couple of cute twunk until I reminded myself my intention of being here.
From my peripheral vision I saw a Tawan guy sat beside me but I tried to play it cool. He then introduced himself as Tun (?) and a couple of minutes later, when he starts getting comfy and cheeky, his hand found its way under my shirt giving me massage and whatnots. We kept on chatting during the show reminiscing how the old site across the street was better and how Tawan is now mainly a "show bar" and how rarely they get boy drinks or offed now. I just shrugged my shoulder saying that maybe its low season and hopefully things will be better for him in a few months. He said most guys in the bar goes for around 3500 to 4000 with a few going as low as 3000. I nodded and just gave him a smile.
I was really enjoying my time with him when my phone starts beeping. I stepped out and it was the Ghanian guy who suddenly had a change of heart and lowered his rate to 2500. You gotta love lean season! With that information, I tipped my Tawan guy and bid Surawong good night.
I was a bit paranoid meeting with this Ghanian guy because I'm in an air bnb outside the Silom area and I'm not sure how the guards will react when I bring a guy to my unit. My fear turned out to be unfounded as we even got a smile and a salute from the one of the security guys when we entered. You gotta love Thailand!
In the apartment, we wasted no time and things escalated and got steamy quite quickly. The session was so intense and tender at the same time. He looks much better in person and well built. I could just look at him the whole day. However, there's still that Brasilian or specifically a Carioca "factor" missing from the experience. I can't explain it.
We had a good chat after and I was getting wary that the post-play chat is taking quite a while he might be thinking of staying the night? It's a personal policy that I don't let people I met first time via app to stay overnight - only those working in the bars or GP Sauna in Brazil once I have done my due diligence.
So I pretended and said that I would like to go out and eat and asked him what his plans are. I think he got my cue and said that he'll be making his way home. I paid as agreed plus a reasonable tip. He's too gorgeous not to be given a tip to be honest.
After sending him on his way, I went back to my room and gave myself a high five for a productive day two!

My body clock decided to wake me up at 5am. Not ideal but I decided to make use of the time to go to 7-11 and fill the fridge with provisions for me and my future boy du jour. Received a notification that my two work meetings were cancelled which means I suddenly have the full day to myself without anything planned.
Realised that it will be the best timing to finally try Jay Fai's cooking.  Turned out to be a good decision as I came to know later that they closed down for like two weeks the day after.
There's already a short queue when I arrived. Had a pleasant chat with another travelling lone wolf while waiting for the place to open. Decided that we'll share and split the bill so we can order more. We were so committed to stay in the queue that we had coffee delivered via grabfood while waiting! Overall, the food was worth the wait. It is on the pricier side though - average one gogo bar entry per order and the crab omelette which was so heavenly - equivalent to one boy massage tip not included.
With my stomach full, I can now craft today's game plan. I checked out S'sense and immediately shortlisted three. Given their availability, I booked a cutie named Knott for a two hour session in the afternoon.
S'sense turned out to be a contrast with my experience in Arena. While both enjoyable, S'sense gives out a more spa like vibe compared to Arena's more rough and Spartan atmosphere.

Prior to starting, Knott asked what extra I will avail. From the line message, there are minimum tips for extras you will require. I was surprised at first but looking back, I realised talking about it upfront made things flow smoothly. Of course I chose the body to body extra 900 minimum tip.
And Knott turned out to be a gem! His massage skills is top notch and you can judge by his long massage strokes that he knows his stuff.  The way he used his elbows, arms, palm and knuckles was so skillful I started to relax and actually enjoy the session. He was so attentive as well. He asked me if I was cold - however I was so lazy to request for the vent to be turned the other way so I just said I'm ok. When he touched my skin, he chuckled and said "No you lie, you cold!" and adjusted the air-conditioning.
The extras were so good as well. He's a well built guy so the extras was more than enjoyable. He's very generous with his body and initiated kissing amongst other things. When we both finished, there's still half an hour left so we got cleaned up and he continued the massage. I don't know why but I felt a bit shy when he kissed me on the forehead to signal the end of the massage. Needless to say he received more than the minimum tip from me!
I stepped out of S'sense feeling rejuvenated and my jetlag melted. Made my way back to the apartment planning what the night will look like.

some spas (Jey, Googuy, Arena, Sabaidee VClub ) can be our temporary salvation and some bars may turn helping hand to Tawan boys as well. We are waiting for reports of first sightings of them somewhere.
