Pre covid I used to travel to Thailand in either May/June/July and found the weather was good for me (I was used to it) and one advantage of traveling then was less crowds in a lot of places. My next trip may well be next May with current plans to go overboard (4 guys if possible) in a massage place on my birthday😑

The train is a good idea however it can also depend on the time of day or night as well, I find it annoying when people get on packed trains at rush hour and they have to try and squeeze their luggage in as well. Which is why I don't take the train from the airport, the time my flight gets in and I get through immigration and customs the trains are packed full, I guess it would be different if I got in around midday. Sure some people only take carry on with them when they fly but most don't.

Their website is still up but when I click on Reservations it comes up as invalid request and they aren't answering emails, just wondering if it's still open for business or temporarily closed or just closed down? I've not seen that but have seen some going in for attendance at registration for the army conscription, they can be exempt from service if they have transformed but have to appear at the registration with the medical certificates to prove it, some real stunners show up.

If you want to take in some Thai culture check out Siam Niramit in Bangkok, if it's open you can book from any of the tour operators or travel agents in Bangkok, full ticket usually has transport and banquet meal as well as the show. Well worth it if it's still open. I know this one can be a tourist trap but I also like Asiatique, bit of a market and some real nice restaurants there.

You can try the 2 Kings bars on Patpong 1 and also Black Pagoda on Patpong 2, also over Sukhumvit way there is Nana Plaza (there were a few ladyboy bars there at one time, never know he may be curious to see them. Soi Cowboy would be better for first timer though), Soi Cowboy from what I've heard is doing well again and plenty of action. Bar staff I've spoken to in the past have mentioned the resons they won't go with some people and the two major reasons were cheapness (as mentioned above multiple clients for the price of one) and hygene, there are some seriously bad body odours (and real bad breath) out there and I can't blame them from not wanting to experience it. Hell, it's bad enough on the BTS at times let alone having to spend time with the bad odour, from experience there have been times I got off the BTS when the odours were so bad. For some I think it's their diet that causes it but some others I think it simply a case of not using soap.

That's good, now I wish they would update their schedules and fares from Perth to Bangkok beyond the 3 months at a time they do now. I would love to check fares and book a trip for next year but the schedules for the Perth route on their website are only updated every 3 months and the next update is November but I want to check March onward. Singapore airlines may come into play if they don't.
