We spent a few days in Hoi An and checked out two spas there, Gay Male Spa and Rooster Spa. We had booked at Gay Male Spa based on the photos (AI?) we saw on their Facebook page and let me tell you, the therapists who met us there looked nothing like those photos. One of them was quite overweight. The other would have done in a pinch but we decided the vibe was off and left. We then went to Rooster and the receptionist was very nice and spoke great English. Border hop time again. We decided to give Thailand a miss and went for a three month say in DaNang. Getting the visa was easy, online application £20 fee and your details, address flight passport etc etc. Arrived in four days by email. We have rented an apartment on My Khe beach front and the first thing that caught us out was the construstion noise next door, it's been a month of hammer drilling which is now over thank goodness. 8am to 5pm. A friend invited me to potentially visit Vietnam for a few weeks early next year. Know a little about it but not much, and heard it's only getting more and more popular as destination. I arrived just after dark and stayed in the area near the Notre Dame look-alike cathedral. I liked the evening vibes, people eating and walking about outside in the pleasant winter temperatures. I contacted them one Friday evening but they were fully booked. They said come tomorrow before 2 pm and you can choose your masseur. Arrived next day around 2 pm (grab moto) and at the entrance was presented ipad pics of 3 guys. I liked 2 (one muscular and one model type). I went for the muscular type; I saw the model guy as well, equally good. Clothes stay in the lockers situated on the ground gloor (there is also a sauna service). Got 50+ offers at first 3 hours after arrival. About 50% are masseurs with asking price 30$ "for everything". Rest are students who "want to practice my English".
