  1. Upon re-reading the posts, the op abidismaili is not clear on tourist visa (which will cost him in the range of 30 Euro per entry, even if it's just 2 hours) or visa exempt entry (free). Furthermore, he speaks of customs when he means immigration. abidismaili, you should specify the length(s) of time you want to stay in Thailand so others can advise which visa (or visa exempt) suits you best.
  2. I had a few cases where I had to negotiate the opening angle of the door with the boy before we could get to business.
  3. I recommend you have a backup plan. It would surprise me if both boys were there at the time of your booking.
  4. delete
  5. And how did you deal with that? And excuse my curiosity, how much do the boys ask for and how much do you tip?
  6. And let's not forget massage places in Silom and Sukhumvit are used to Farang customers and someone will speak English. Whereas in further away, there might be nobody who speaks English and taxi driver might not know where exactly it is. With BTS/MRT/ARL and Saen Saep Canal Boat you can bypass traffic jams, but you need experience. With bus at least the meter is not ticking while you are in traffic jam.
  7. There are openly operating gay saunas, however they work on a membership basis, I had to apply for membership first before I could enter (took only a few minutes but costs membership fee in addition to entry fee). That place had promising looking boys, but music and flashing lights were horrible, I won't be back (details on my blog), the most expensive and least enjoyable sauna experience. That 2 h will cost about 30 Euro (or whatever the Thai embassy in your home country charges per entry for a tourist visa), or extension 1900 Baht (?), all quite expensive. I don't know if it's possible to request a visa exempt entry (free) when you hold a valid visa. Would save you 30 Euro / 1900 Baht or in that range.
  8. Metered price would be around 100 Baht (more with traffic jam). In my experience, all standing taxis try to overcharge. With me it was usually double the estimated meter price, trying 4 or 6 times is new to me, you must look very rich or inexperienced. I was hoping the 600 Bath minimum tip includes HE already, which would make it a good deal. A typical case of applying Western logic to Thailand. Epic fail. Happened to me as well.
  9. There was one more venue that didn't allow customers to have a free look first: the short-lived Fuse/Bangkok Bounce/Club88 in basement of Wall Street Tower. I tried once, and someone else reported same experience here. I skipped. I don't buy a pig in a poke. If a bar does not allow you to have a look first, there must be a catch. Low number of boys or bar full (that must be very rare) and only poor seats available?
  10. Great report! Sorry about the hotel problem, first time I read about over booking hotels. This is the standard procedure for all bars except Tawan (I haven't been to Tawan for years, I learn of their changed policy only from your report). And I'm glad it is! Many times did I have to walk out of a bar because there was nothing worth spending time and money, type-wise and number-wise. I have personnally witnessed boys stuff tissue into their underwear to make the bulge look bigger (have yet to witness a prospective customer put his hand in for a grope and pull out the tissue), but would be a new low of value-for-money and new high of overcharging, deceiving and fooling customers.
  11. I happened to be in Nakon Sawan for Chinese New Year celebrations (full week of celbrations), which was nice. No problem getting hotel, few other Farang. (I did not celebrate at all on 8th in Bangkok, but went to festival on 10th in Nakon Sawan.)
  12. My thoughts about this place (pool on ground floor under X-Size) that I shared elsewhere: http://sawatdeenetwork.com/forum/boys-hard-nuts-crack-t36436-15.html
  13. Roi Et has some spectacular temples, I have been in 2013 on two trips. Judging by your pictures, you covered most of them. (The one in yellow cloth is Na Dun in mearby Maha Sarakham province.)
  14. You would first have to consider which kind of visa that allows to retire is available for which country.
  15. No way! They go as far as changing under a towel in gay saunas and covering their genitals on nude days in saunas. Once you get into a dark room, all free to grope, suck, fuck, but that's not my style. A friend would like to sunbathe in the nude, and he did so on the top of his hotel's roof. He got multiple complaints (by people who go there to hand clothes for drying) and had to stop.
  16. I don't discuss details of sexual activities either, but if the boys plays games, makes drama, pouts, is lazy I would kick him out with partial payment. I have never been threatened with a knife. But a weapon or experience in fighting or being drunk/drugged can compensate for my physical superiority (I'm taller and heavier than most Thai boys). If in doubt I would rather pay than getting into an altercation. There is a problem related to that: taking my wallet out to pay puts me into a vulnerable position: I'm distracted and have something in my hand, the boy knows where my money is and could kick me in the balls to get my wallet!
  17. I had a look at the selection of boys (pictures in the links provided for various massage places), nothing convincing. For me, selecting from a picture does not work, only walking past a shop with boys sitting outside. There were rumors about offing the BBoys on sawatdeenetwork, tip in the range of 10 kBaht. The BBoys or similar often do breakdancing show on walking street, you can watch for free, or give tip when they collect at the end.
  18. I was in a hurry so I didn't write full sentences which led to misunderstanding, here long form: The case abang1961 reports is not prostitution. Hence it's natural to take it at your pace, and if you lose interest in your date not to have sex. But the op hired a prostitute where both sides agreed on service and payment. Disagree. If boy does not perform as agreed, lower the tip. Paying in full sets a poor example and makes the boys spoiled brats, arrogant assholes and creates a sense of entitlement. I guess I am physically superior to most boys (and surely to the twinks I off) so I could throw them out if I have to do so. Others might not have this advantage and prefer to pay instead of risking an altercation.
  19. Abang1961 is without money, there it's quite natural to take it a your pace, and no activity if you lose interest. The op writes about hiring a moneyboy, completely different. I can't follow. Dream Boys (Bangkok or Pattaya?), short time off and short time room (i.e. not your place), that's clear. "payment (s) agreed and paid" Paid before the act? I did make a partial payment in advance once, only to end up almost robbed (an no sex). Every person I told the story said you don't pay prostitutes in advance, nowhere in the world, no time in history. "decided to let him go as far as he wanted then upped and left." What does that mean, especially upped? "the look on his face suggested that he was hoping for a different response from me." What response do you think he expected?
  20. I had a spectacular change in performance with one boy (first encounter was so good I took him again on next trip to Pattaya, second encounter sleeping all day and night in my room and reluctant to do anything sexual). I give second chances (after poor performance in bed), but threatening is a no-no. I never had an experience like one in the op, closest was a boy from Soi Twilight about 4 years ago who demanded 2000 for ST and didn't move, had to shove him out with 1600.
  21. There are buses as well between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. I have taken the overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai about 5 times (and back, except one return by bus). It's no fun, I can't sleep well with the shaking of the train. And you have to plan for delays of 1 or 2 hours. With flights on average not much more expensive, and travel time much shorter, and generally no delays, it's a no-brainer: take the plane! I continue to take the train because I like train travel, carry a pocket knife (don't want to check in luggage on plane due to higher costs and having to wait for luggage). In well over 10.000 km of train travel in Thailand, I have seen only a few errant cockroaches on trains.
  22. Shameless Mack, a blogger about South-East Asian gay venues and especially massage place, who suddenly went offline and nobody knows what happened to him. Only fragments of his work remain, I collected them and put them here: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2013/10/shameless-mack-fragment-found.html
  23. I travel a lot, and when Thai boys message me and ask "What are you doing now" / "Where are you", the follow up is inevitably "Who are with". I do not understand the importance of traveling alone or with someone, although I notice that Thai boys rarely go somewhere alone, I even saw two boys at a hairdresser, one got a haircut, the other was just accompanying his friend.
  24. For me it's the opposite: when I don't have time to play the online (slow communication, finding place and time to meet - actually place should be my room and time now, but how long until the boy is here?), then I go to bars and massages. Even if I don't find someone, it's more entertaining than texting. Try saunas. I don't know of any websites, and discos are more 20-30 year olds. Smartphones now have programs to process phones, and they are widely used by the Thais. But often you can see that the face does not look natural, it has been processed ("beautified").
  25. The 3 boys returning home might just be a coincidence. As far as I know, many of these boys are here on tourist visa or visa exemption and have to go home regularly. Where and how did you meet the Myanmar boy who cannot go further than Chiang Rai? There is little or no information about Chiang Rai and Mae Sai on the gay Thailand forums. Details about sightseeing (off the beaten track, I have been to White Temple and Black house near Chiang Rai in Feb 2014) and gay activities would be welcome, as I am tentatively planning a trip Phrae-Nan-Chiang Rai-border to Myanmar for the next months.
