But the beauty of Asia is that there are so many great looking guys almost everywhere. I occasionally swoon when I see many Japanese guys. As for Koreans, I see very few now but those I do are like a different race from 30 and more years ago. Some of the boys are now drop dead gorgeous!

You find lots of sexy guys in the under-25 crowds nowadays in the bigger cities like: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzen, etc. Mostly coming from a middle or upper-class families. As for Koreans, I've never been too much into them, probably because I'm not very attracted to wider faces, so I've always felt that I was more successful than I wanted to when traveling in there.😁. I know that because of the big influence the Korean entertainment industry has, they are considered a bit of the Asian etalon of beauty right now from other countries. My Taiwanese friends always show surprise (and I know deep inside also pride) when I tell them that I consider Taiwanese much more good-looking than Koreans.

Totally agree, and I have always found this since China started really opening up in the mid-1990s. I have written before about the Destination Club in Beijing and how stunning the guys I usuually find there. I have good friends who are a gay couple in Shanghai (together for more than 25 years) and some of the guys they invite when we all go out for dinner are very sexy with beautiful features!

I wasn't talking about availability of bottoms in Taiwan but that I think Thai ass is better. Well, I have a much more limited exposure to Japan and Japanese, especially when compared to Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam or Singapore. Have only been there 3 times. did some of the gay venues (like saunas and clubs) recommended by online guides, though I think those are just the foreign-friendly venues so definitely haven't had the chance to mingle with the true local gay crowd. It's true that smooth body is not always a given with Japanese ( same as with Filipinos), so I guess that takes some points off in my book, but as we both said there is definitely not a shortage of stunning hot guys in Japan and especially Tokyo.

That's one of the negative things about gay Japan. There are hundreds (literally) of gay bars and many saunas and hattenba where foreigners are definitely not welcome. Of course, things are different if you go with a Japanese. I was once taken by Japanese friends to a tiny bar in the trendy Shibuya area. There were about ten seats around a U-shaped bar and perhaps 6 tables for two. What i found interesting was that I was warmly welcomed only because of my gay couple companions were regulars. Had I been on my own, it would have been made clear in several ways that I should find a another bar. Another interesting feature was that after I had been introduced, the mamasan asked me quietly if I was top or bottom. I found this strange, but he quickly seated me at the bar. The reason was that he'd made sure I was placed next to Japanese guys who were bottoms!
