If memory serves, I've read some 3 years ago that in Bali there's a gay sex scene similar to the one in Thailand.

Is that true?

Search here offers no detailed or updated info.

Would appreciate insights.

I was there once for a short time and have plans for October. If by the scene , you mean GoGo Bars , Massage Parlors etc, it is not even close.

However lots of boys on Hornet who want to make money at similar prices to Thailand and the bonus being most speak good English.

Indonesian boys are smooth and hot.

Indonesian boys have larger dicks than other Asians.  This is certainly true with regards to Thais.

I wouldn't say the scene in Bali is lime Thailand, but they have hot guys that can be licked up nonetheless if you play things right. 

There are gay clubs as well but the scene isn't in your face like it is in Thailand 

There used to be gay (clothing optional) resort in Bali last year but it was raided and also a semi BH (M.A.N. Resort in Seminyak) I was told that this place is owned by Jakarta based minister and german partner so it's unlikely to be raided.

With Indonesia being a predominantly Muslim country, is there a risk going into the gay bars that you might be arrested?

I don't think so. At least not in Bali when I was there a year ago.

I was there two years ago, there were a few escort guys on Grindr.  Bali also has many massage places for men.

Bali is VERY gay friendly.  Gogo boys dance on the bars in speedos in Seminyak.  Many gay tourists also.  You would not know you were in a Muslim country.

I am planing in visiting Bali during November this year, all going well. just a quick question, how strict are hotels in allowing clients bring escorts/gogo boys back to their hotel rooms. 

Not strict, never had any problems, but the thing to do in Bali is rent a villa (look up on airbnb), most come with own private pool and give you privacy.  Recommend staying in Seminyak. it's where the gay life is and full of nice restaurants and beach.

Seminyak is the place to stay.  a was there a few years ago, there was also a gay beach, but just a beach with some older tourists....

Thanks for your suggestions guys, it seems Seminyak is the place to stay . I am looking forward to visiting Bali pandemic permitting.
