Barcelona hotels (and Airbnbs) have become very expensive post-Covid. Unfortunately.

Agree and may I add with inflexible booking. My favourite hotel now is non refundable in any circumstances.

Thx a lot!

Forgot to mention. All those hotels I mentioned are a walking distance from Thermas. From the Axel can be a good 10 min from Leonardo or Two Axel is almost across the street.

Yes

I already marked them on the map.

Prblm: the closer they r to Thermas, the farther they r from main attractions to the northwest. There IS more to brcln than 3 afternoon hours of sexcapades.....   (-:

Glad to hear that!

Both of us r wrong. My main cluster is to the NE.

But the direction isnt the issue. I mentioned attractions bcs  for me proximity to Thermas isnt the only factor in choosing a hotel.

So nothing at all is NW of Thermas.

Earlier in this thread, I wrote that "a stay at an Axel hotel probably works best for those visitors who are too shy or afraid to venture very often to other parts of the city -- or even other parts of the Eixample."

Distance is relative. No matter where one stays 🫥, 🤷🏻‍♂️Sitges is going to be just as far as Madrid, Valencia, Andalucia, Galicia, and Gran Canaria. 😎 Besides, Eixample is pretty close to the main attractions for a first-timer. You know, those postcard or Instagram "I was here" pictures.

All of the main tourist attractions are within a few metro stops or a few minutes in a cab from Thermas. I've walked between Thermas and the Ramblas in about 35 minutes. A little exercise will get your blood pumping from the fun to follow.

Where do u guys stay when visiting?

How do u get to the sauna? Metro? Uber?

Thx (-:

I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental and walked to the sauna. It's a healthy 25 minute straight walk. But you can also take the metro.

I was in Barcelona last summer and I stayed at two locations: Hotel Via Augusta and Hotel Catalonia Eixample 1864.

Via Augusta was close to a metro stop and easy to get to Thermas, and was centrally located. Also had free breakfast which was nice.

Catalonia Eixample was closer to the touristy parts and an easy walk to Paseig de Gracia and short taxi ride everywhere else.

How was your stay at Axel Two? Thinking about my next trip to Spain and if it's worth staying near there.

I liked it a lot very nice and cozy room, metro is in the corner and the most important It was very close to Thermas on foot!
