Land in Silom Soi 4 for Sale

If that is indeed the price, surely it must mean tearing town and erecting one or more high-rise buildings. But the soi is too narrow for any single building over 8 stories. I suspect it has to be for the entire soi and the house at the end so that the soi can be eliminated with just one really big high-rise.

Soi 4 is still for sale on that site. I'd expect the land in this prime location to quickly sell to a developer who could build yet another modern shopping mall (as if there weren't enough of those in Bangkok...). But it's been on the market for four months... I don't know anything about realistic prices in Bangkok, but perhaps the asking price is a bit high, which is why it hasn't sold yet? Let's hope the soi remains the gay hotspot it is for a while longer. I still miss Soi Twilight when I'm in Bangkok, so what if Soi 4 disappears too?

we and scene survived disappearance of soi twilight, and no doubt we and scene will survive that too.

Listing price may be indeed prohibitive signalling that land is for sale but only if right price will come and there's no rush  for a deal.

there are unconfirmed rumors that one of sons is gay and had a tunnel digged out  straight from Jupiter basement to theirs

Could he even be one of the go-go boys? :lolu:

Seriously, with Bangkok 1 open and the new development on the corner of Silom/Convent with @vinapu's second favourite Michelin 7-star restaurant also open, I really wonder if there is sufficient demand for yet more malls, offices, even apartments in that area. In any case, if the land has been up for sale for several months, I imagine potential developers will surely need to get some form of advance planning permission for an acquisition in that area before concluding a deal and putting money down. Can you imagine the blockage on Silom with an endless procession of cement and other construction trucks?
