That's nearly double the cost of a river view room at the Mandarin Oriental! Mind you that hotel is showing its age and the rooms are only half the size of the Capella or less. But given that Bangkok has 200 5-star and deluxe hotels (making it just one hotel short of being the leader of that specialist group), where do all their patrons come from having to pay those prices, I wonder? Paris has only 116 5-star hostelries and London 162! Quote

My problem in Bangkok is to make to Foodland before 9 am in order to have discounted breakfast at 84 baht instead of extortionate 93 baht they are charging after 9. emiel1981, Keithambrose, FunFifties and 1 other 4 Quote

hank75 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I have stayed here too and it is indeed a beautiful property. Some rooms have a better balcony orientation than others. My dream is to be afford the river front pool villas. I have experienced the neighbouring Four Seasons too and while far more gay friendly, the rooms simply cannot compare and have no balcony. Property is also too large and maze-like. The pool is better than Capella though. Olddaddy 1 Quote

paulsf Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Many of the riverfront hotels are sold out already for New Years. I was lucky to get an Airbnb on the river across from Icon Siam. Looking forward to the fireworks. vinapu 1 Quote
