Popular Post floridarob Posted Friday at 03:15 PM Popular Post Posted Friday at 03:15 PM One of the reasons I hate going to funerals.... I like to remember people how I knew them. Not everyone ages "gracefully" and keep in mind that "aging gracefully" is just a nice way of saying you're slowly looking worse 🥺 TMax, BjornAgain, unicorn and 2 others 5 Quote
jimmie50 Posted Friday at 09:06 PM Posted Friday at 09:06 PM Personally I skip over such articles. Don't need to be reminded that I am getting older and we all age differently. Just a simple fact of life and death. Stopped going to funeral home visitations years ago. Most of my family chose cremation, as is my plan as well, with no visitation and no service. Would prefer to remember friends and family from photos over their lifetime. Ruthrieston and floridarob 2 Quote
Members Suckrates Posted Friday at 09:18 PM Members Posted Friday at 09:18 PM I kinda LIKE seeing the articles and photos of AGING celebrities..... It reminds me that I am NOT the only one thats deteriorating ..... I recoil every time I look in a mirror and notice something "NEW" about my aging face or body..... But then again, at 75, changes should be expected, but they are hard to accept when you remember what you used to look like. But seeing that "celebrities are just like us" when it comes to againg, even IF they have had some work done, that hands and neck give it all away..... Even when I see current pics of FABIO...... a hunk and hearthrob of the past, I go "DAMN", he looks as bad as ME !" 😢 unicorn and jimmie50 2 Quote
PeterRS Posted Saturday at 02:20 AM Posted Saturday at 02:20 AM No I think it is a stupid idea! As others have written, we all age and we age in different ways. Some have had plastic surgery and may not look as old as they are. Others have had the same surgery and look worse! Ageing is an issue for families, friends and neighbours - not cheap pot shots taken on internet sites. jimmie50, Ruthrieston and vinapu 3 Quote

My mother instructed us to keep casket closed and asked they one of us just check if that's her inside. ( we had neighbors who almost buried wrong person, also dead at least as their father, funeral home mixed up identical coffins). Ruthrieston 1 Quote

Go for the distinguished older gentleman look like Pierce Brosnan, for instance. Fabio's 66 and trying to cling on to a look that suited him 30 years ago only ages him, in my humble opinion. Moreover, having sharp, chiselled features and a square jaw may look good on a man when he's younger but they don't tend to age well for eg the late Robert Redford (may he rest in peace). The march of time tend to be kinder on people with softer features. Ruthrieston, vinapu, unicorn and 2 others 5 Quote

Members unicorn Posted 13 hours ago Author Members Posted 13 hours ago I was also reminded of the before and after photos as I looked at the photo my husband has of me on his dresser. It's of me in my mid 20s. When he shows it to friends, the photo often gets over-the-top reactions like "Oh, my God!", as if I'd turned into some kind of ogre. 😄 😁Well, there are few who survived into their 60s still looking as hot as in their 20s. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are the only two I can think of, off-hand... Quote

Yes, he is "chiseled", but its an "Aged" chisel, unlike the chisel you would see on a 20 something boy. Looking at him, it looks like everything is a bit "droopy" which comes naturally with AGE..... Bottom line, if you are really discerning, you CANT hide AGE..... You just do the best you can.... Myself, I opt for "duct tape". Quote

Myself, I opt for "duct tape". Obviously, he's not in his 20s. But I'd pay for sex with him (based on his looks alone). I can say that for extremely few sexagenarians. Sexy at sixty is rare. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those rarities! 😉 Quote
