12is12 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Is this 'just' a host bar, or potentially more? BTW, what's the meaning/origin of "space hair"? Quote

It used to be a hair salon during the day and then turned into a bar at night. It was called the Space Hair Salon and Bar, if I recall correctly. Quote

Sure there are girls among the customers at Space Hair but I did not notice they are lavishing as much attention on them as 'straight' guys at Jupiter in Bangkok are on girls in that bar. Quote

I think Javier, the owner, has drummed into the guys that they are working in a gay bar and so they must pay more attention to the guys and flirt with them. I also think that some of the guys are gay - some are just too handsome to be straight - but none ever comes across as openly gay, apart from Javier's partner. BTW, Javier has a university degree in art and we had a very interesting conversation about Valaquez's painting 'Las Meninas'. He was able to talk about it in great detail. Quote

I remember particularly well a barber shop with a massive basement (spanning the basements of several adjacent shops) which was a complete bathhouse + massage services. Quote
