12is12 Posted yesterday at 10:02 AM Posted yesterday at 10:02 AM Is this 'just' a host bar, or potentially more? BTW, what's the meaning/origin of "space hair"? Quote

It used to be a hair salon during the day and then turned into a bar at night. It was called the Space Hair Salon and Bar, if I recall correctly. Quote

Sure there are girls among the customers at Space Hair but I did not notice they are lavishing as much attention on them as 'straight' guys at Jupiter in Bangkok are on girls in that bar. Quote

I think Javier, the owner, has drummed into the guys that they are working in a gay bar and so they must pay more attention to the guys and flirt with them. I also think that some of the guys are gay - some are just too handsome to be straight - but none ever comes across as openly gay, apart from Javier's partner. BTW, Javier has a university degree in art and we had a very interesting conversation about Valaquez's painting 'Las Meninas'. He was able to talk about it in great detail. Quote

I remember particularly well a barber shop with a massive basement (spanning the basements of several adjacent shops) which was a complete bathhouse + massage services. Quote
Harrystiilees Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Yeah there are a few gay guys working there but I think the majority are straight. I think Pheak (Javis partner) knows what brings in the punters. They are all under strict rules not to go home with any customers though. Quote
Harrystiilees Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Boe kindly showed me some pics from years ago on his phone. He had to really scroll back through many photos to get to the ones he wanted. Lol my eyes were peeled. But mostly photos of him and a woman who was clearly his long term partner. Quote
