It used to be a hair salon during the day and then turned into a bar at night.

It was called the Space Hair Salon and Bar, if I recall correctly.

I think Javier,the owner, has drummed into the guys that they are working in a gay bar and so they must pay more attention to the guys and flirt with them.

I also think that some of the guys are gay - some are just too handsome to be straight - but none ever comes across as openly gay, apart from Javier's partner.

BTW, Javier has a university degree in art and we had a very interesting conversation about Valaquez's painting 'Las Meninas'. He was able to talk about it in great detail.

I've also seen this phenomenon in several cities in China. I remember particularly well a barber shop with a massive basement (spanning the basements of several adjacent shops) which was a complete bathhouse + massage services.

Yeah there are a few gay guys working there but I think the majority are straight. I think Pheak (Javis partner) knows what brings in the punters. They are all under strict rules not to go home with any customers though.

Yes and I know one who was let go for such an infraction. But sun shines sometimes even in deep of the night as outside of their shift , like most  workers everywhere,  are free to do their laundry , visit library or do whatever takes their fancy .

When I was there about 3 weeks ago, Monday or Tuesday, I engaged with the cutest muscle guy of all 5, who, according to gay secret service, is the straightest. Somehow he approched me first.

Indeed, he had strong straight vibes, I felt it. Did not want to squeeze him too much, still bought coctails etc.

He said he is gay, but thats wishful thinking.
