Starving actor?

I've followed this actor, on whom I have a little crush, for a while, and I got this rather cryptic e-mail from him:

"Writing to you all to let you know that due to the health of my father declining, my mother and stepfathers divorce causing massive issues in finances, my car breaking down on me, my immense debt due to supporting my family financially and finally, my rapidly declining health which has caused me to "pass out" randomly (guess I'm stressed?) .. I have to ask for support to afford rent this month. I have been doing all kinds of side jobs, gigs, streams, selling personal belongings etc. to make it, but I.. don't have it this time. I can see myself failing to make this happen and so I wanted to reach out and ask for help and support if you have the means. I don't have much to offer you (other than my sincerest gratitude), I'm sure I can do a livestream to thank you, send each of you homemade cookies in the mail with a written, personalized letter (if you're okay with brown sugar, cinnamon, choc. chip cookies), mail you polaroid's... but I'm at my limit of what I can do. The number is above a thousand, but I would be grateful to even raise $5. Anything to help me find a step to stand up and continue forward...".

If I can trust the internet, he lives quite near me (in Burbank). I'm thinking of handing him over $100 cash if he'll have coffee with me. He also works as a magician, and I suppose I could hire him for entertainment at my next pool party (June 13 or 14). To make it clear: I would shoot myself before I'd ever cheat on my husband, and am not interested in an intimate encounter--just to meet him. Sound reasonable?

If he is having trouble with rent, he might enjoy the money for rent and the coffee (and possible snack) as well.

Yes, you've already made us painfully aware of that in your posts regarding GofundMe pages.....

Shouldn't you be reading medical journals and updating your knowledge and skills instead of running after "needy" urchins always looking for handouts ?.

And it always strikes me that you want to help ONLY ''pretty" people.....   Is your generosity conditional on aesthetic" ?     I missed that in Jesus' teachings 😏

Was it in the NEW Testament ?

As you know, since you've read my posts, most of my charity goes to groups which help the unfortunate. Quite the contrary, if I end up helping him, he'll be the first "pretty" man I've helped. And as you also should know from my prior posts, I'm as gay and as atheist as they come. Since the Romans kept records of whom they crucified, and there is no record of him in Roman writings until well after his purported death, I find it unlikely that Jesus ever even existed, much less that he's still around. 

Also, I can't say I'm fully convinced he's the one supporting his parents. If he were to decline my offer for coffee, that would increase my suspicions that he's just making an easy buck off of his popularity.

I understand  people are falling on hard times but  there are millions and millions of people in the world  supporting their families by every mean without even having fraction of opportunities  that guy and his parents had in life living where they are. Help him if you inclined to, coffee or not  but I, for one find that kind of pleading audacious.

I agree with you completely. I wouldn't consider this a charitable donation, but rather helping someone who's willing to meet a fan. Bonus points if I could get to know him better. I almost met Jason Caceres at a neighbor's party, but I was at a conference at the time. My husband told me he was there (he knows I'm a fan of the real JC 😁).

Why do I think this story, with certain alterations, reminds me of masses of missives received and posted from Thai boys to the foreigners they met once, perhaps twice, and who told the boys they loved them? 

I do not know the situation in the USA but in the UK 90% of actors are out of work at any one time. It is a very precarious profession  - uness I suppose he is a porn star. Is he?

Why ask questions here when you already know what you plan to do? Otherwise you would not have made the post!
