brall3 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago After 8 years I returned to Pattaya for a two week visit. Thanks to this forum and its members I was aware of the few changes to Boytown, for example the termination of the BBB boy line up and parade just prior to the opening of the club; sweet memories. A very big change to BBB is that it appears the club now caters more to Chinese female customers than to gay guys. As I sat outside the bar watching the various activities, I noticed that the guys outside BBB were very aggressive in pursuing Chinese people walking through the area to go to the club, whereas they frequently ignored non-Asian guys walking through the area. I decided to attend the first show. As I entered the club, I was happily greeted by workers whom I knew from years ago. Indeed it was a delight that they remembered me and to see many of them still working there after so many years have passed. As I looked around the club, it was readily apparent that the majority of the customers were Chinese, Chinese females. The first part of the show consisted of a stage full of guys completely dressed and all eyeing and vying for the attention of the female customers. The performers of the following semi-erotic shows also focused their attention on the Chinese females. When the various acts were over, the guys quickly left the stage and headed to the male gay customers asking them for a tip!!! I declined to tip any of them and why should I. Throughout the shows and other stage activities the guys practically ignored the male gay clients but yet were eager to approach them for a tip; a tip for what? As a few guys approached me, I shook my head indicating "no" and pointed to the female Chinese customers. I was ignored the entire time I was there and now they want money in the form of a tip from me? "no way Jose". Later I asked the mamasan to invite a guy over for a drink and conversation, as I was interested in taking him off. The guy was not very friendly, a bit cold and did not respond to any of my touches to his hand and leg. As he quickly finished his drink, he said: "1.000 to bar for off and 5,000 for me, short time"; no previous discussion nor anything. Any interest I had in him quickly disappeared. The whole ordeal lasted about three minutes (ha-ha). I left the club the way I entered - alone. Later that week, a couple of mamasans told me that the boys working at the club prefer to be with girls instead of with men. It seems that the owners of BBB have purchased or leased the old Royal hotel/restaurant. About 1:30 the workers at BBB start transferring various items from BBB to the old Royal hotel. Around 2:00 everyone, workers and customers, go from BBB to the new location. Looking through the glass I saw the guys from BBB lined up on the stage. As I sat at the outside patio of the Ambiance hotel, I saw several couples, a boy from BBB and a Chinese female, go to the reception area of the closed hotel and later disappear. The mamasans said they went to rooms. The nights I sat outside watching the various events, I never saw a BBB guy and a gay guy go to a room at the Royal. Actually, I never saw a "single" male customer go to the continuing show at the closed Royal hotel. One visit to BBB was enough for me. tm_nyc and bkkmfj2648 2 Quote
bkkmfj2648 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago @brall3 and this my friend is probably the eventual death knell of Boyztown. Truly sad, because back in the day, I LOVED the 9pm sexy red carpet parade march of the nude torso BoyzBoyzBoyz models out on the street, where if you did not already get an outside bar seat by 8:30pm you were not going to have an up close and personal view of the sexy guys. The phenomena currently occuring to Boyztown is similar to when the anchor store leaves a once popular shopping mall. Without a good anchor (attraction) the foot traffic decreases and the remaining stores (bars) struggle to stay profitable. Furthermore, for the annual Pattaya gay pride events - Boyztown's support and participation is often absent. This is sad considering the long history of Boyztown. Quote
