Popular Post brall3 Posted yesterday at 11:10 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 11:10 AM After 8 years I returned to Pattaya for a two week visit. Thanks to this forum and its members I was aware of the few changes to Boytown, for example the termination of the BBB boy line up and parade just prior to the opening of the club; sweet memories. A very big change to BBB is that it appears the club now caters more to Chinese female customers than to gay guys. As I sat outside the bar watching the various activities, I noticed that the guys outside BBB were very aggressive in pursuing Chinese people walking through the area to go to the club, whereas they frequently ignored non-Asian guys walking through the area. I decided to attend the first show. As I entered the club, I was happily greeted by workers whom I knew from years ago. Indeed it was a delight that they remembered me and to see many of them still working there after so many years have passed. As I looked around the club, it was readily apparent that the majority of the customers were Chinese, Chinese females. The first part of the show consisted of a stage full of guys completely dressed and all eyeing and vying for the attention of the female customers. The performers of the following semi-erotic shows also focused their attention on the Chinese females. When the various acts were over, the guys quickly left the stage and headed to the male gay customers asking them for a tip!!! I declined to tip any of them and why should I. Throughout the shows and other stage activities the guys practically ignored the male gay clients but yet were eager to approach them for a tip; a tip for what? As a few guys approached me, I shook my head indicating "no" and pointed to the female Chinese customers. I was ignored the entire time I was there and now they want money in the form of a tip from me? "no way Jose". Later I asked the mamasan to invite a guy over for a drink and conversation, as I was interested in taking him off. The guy was not very friendly, a bit cold and did not respond to any of my touches to his hand and leg. As he quickly finished his drink, he said: "1.000 to bar for off and 5,000 for me, short time"; no previous discussion nor anything. Any interest I had in him quickly disappeared. The whole ordeal lasted about three minutes (ha-ha). I left the club the way I entered - alone. Later that week, a couple of mamasans told me that the boys working at the club prefer to be with girls instead of with men. It seems that the owners of BBB have purchased or leased the old Royal hotel/restaurant. About 1:30 the workers at BBB start transferring various items from BBB to the old Royal hotel. Around 2:00 everyone, workers and customers, go from BBB to the new location. Looking through the glass I saw the guys from BBB lined up on the stage. As I sat at the outside patio of the Ambiance hotel, I saw several couples, a boy from BBB and a Chinese female, go to the reception area of the closed hotel and later disappear. The mamasans said they went to rooms. The nights I sat outside watching the various events, I never saw a BBB guy and a gay guy go to a room at the Royal. Actually, I never saw a "single" male customer go to the continuing show at the closed Royal hotel. One visit to BBB was enough for me. Londoner, daydreamer, bkkmfj2648 and 7 others 5 5 Quote
bkkmfj2648 Posted yesterday at 11:32 AM Posted yesterday at 11:32 AM @brall3 and this my friend is probably the eventual death knell of Boyztown. Truly sad, because back in the day, I LOVED the 9pm sexy red carpet parade march of the nude torso BoyzBoyzBoyz models out on the street, where if you did not already get an outside bar seat by 8:30pm you were not going to have an up close and personal view of the sexy guys. The phenomena currently occuring to Boyztown is similar to when the anchor store leaves a once popular shopping mall. Without a good anchor (attraction) the foot traffic decreases and the remaining stores (bars) struggle to stay profitable. Furthermore, for the annual Pattaya gay pride events - Boyztown's support and participation is often absent. This is sad considering the long history of Boyztown. Travellerdave Posted yesterday at 01:33 PM Posted yesterday at 01:33 PM (edited) @Bralle ive read your report on BBB in Boyztown with interest and note your disappointment on how this stalwart of gay orientated entertainment has transitioned the business towards catering for Chinese female groups. My reaction was the same remembering the venue when it was orientated towards attracting Western gay men, like myself, whose interest was being entertained by Asian boys. I had the same experience as you during my autumn 2025 trip when I visited BBB during my first evening. Needless to same i didn’t visit again and quickly transferred my custom to the Jomtien Complex and it’s gay bars with boys and an almost complete absence of females Edited yesterday at 01:45 PM by Travellerdave Addition Ian here, TMax and Vessey 2 1 Quote

Sounds like he wasn't interested in going with you thus the high price As a matter of interest how much is a "boy drink" there? Quote

Travelingguy Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I find this very interesting. I have to wonder about the economics of the bar depending on female customers offing the guys in these Thai bars. It’s my impression that the overwhelming majority of customers of paid sexual encounters (gay and straight) are men. I suppose there could be a niche that might be sustainable for female customers, but I do wonder if they would generate the volume needed to make ends meet. The boys might prefer the Chinese female customers for many reasons, but a successful business comes down to bringing in enough money to keep the business operating. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Does anyone know of successful Gogo bars in Bangkok or Pattaya where only the women off the guys? Ian here 1 Quote
Popular Post macaroni21 Posted 21 hours ago Popular Post Posted 21 hours ago Between the sheer volume of female customers and the number of drinks they buy (Including boy drinks), there is enough revenue for the bar to be minting money. The bar does not have to rely on off fees. So even if offing hardly occurs, it's irrelevant. As for the boys, once again, the girls tip -- though reports are mixed as to how well or poorly they tip -- but perhaps through sheer volume of customers alone, the boys make enough. They don't need to be off'd, unless it's for the pleasure of cunt. There are successful "Magic Mike" type establishments around the world. They make money without "going all the way". One thing we must never do is to assume that women behave like men. They do not. In this area of sex, straight men and gay men are far more alike, and worlds apart from women (gay or straight). Women like the flirt; the fantasy of a minute's romance. If the boys deliver that (not sure these boys do, though), females will tip thousands of baht. Men think that flirting is a waste of time and money. If the cock is not satisfied, nothing else substitutes. Another observation worth making: females go to these bars in social groups; they rarely go alone (except Japan, but there's another dynamic there, something to do with absent husbands). For them, the entertainment's chief value is to cement the social bond between hens. Vocalisation (screaming) and getting drunk together is part of the social bonding. Men more often go singly than in groups. The value is in the hunt. Silence and stealth are part of the game. -- Re Japan, see https://shamelessmacktwo.travel.blog/2024/04/18/host-bars-that-arent-for-us/ bkkmfj2648, Olddaddy, tm_nyc and 3 others 6 Quote

Haven’t you heard of the increasing number of host bars in Bangkok? Quite a few of the best looking gay for pay bar workers have moved on to those. That testifies to the volume of women who pay heavily to drink with a handsome guy. Additionally they are mostly locals, so that’s just the Thai female demographic, not even counting the Chinese. Then there’s Fake Club and another newer club whose name starts with A but escapes me right now. The business model of the male go go where gay customers pay cover and buy one beer to choose someone dancing on stage for sex is dying out. There hasn’t been a new, successful male go go in years. Grindr plays a role too. Quote
Londoner Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago A few years back there were three boy-bars catering for women in Pattaya. All, I believe, were in Third Road. My partner's cousin was mamasan in one of them. He showed me photos of the guys there; stunning! The bars catered for bar-girls with cash to spare, wives/ partners of non-performing falangs and of those who were working abroad. Prices much the same as we pay. From what I could ascertain, they were very much local businesses rather than for tourists . Word of mouth custom, I assume. BBB was the first bar I recall where women visitors were often to be seen. It didn't surprise me. In those days (1996-2002 , my "punter" period), most of the hundred plus guys on parade (yes, a hundred plus) seemed to be straight. Not my cup of tea, though I remember a couple of very enjoyable assignations. bkkmfj2648 1 Quote
