The tourist said the transvestite refused to return his money and stole his wristwatch. From Pattaya Mail Pattaya officials cleaned up the neglected police tourist-service center opposite the Royal Garden Plaza on beach road. City Councilman Nikom Sangkaew, who also heads the Pattaya Police Volunteers Association, joined Pol. Lt. Thongin Panyanam and other officers in changing burned-out lightbulbs around the service center and sprucing up the police box. From Pattaya News Thailand’s first ever BBQ & music festival, “Meatfest,” will arrive in Pattaya this weekend. Featuring BBQ competitions, live bands, food stalls, and competitions, Meatfest will take place at Jaybees Bar in Chonburi from October 29th to 30th. The gates will be opened from 1 pm before the buster sausage eating and chilli wings eating competitions kick start at 2 pm and 3.30 pm, respectively.

From Pattaya Mail More than 400 police officers and soldiers were dispatched across Pattaya in a show of force on the eve of the long holiday weekend. New Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Srithong sent the 449 officers on their way to serve and protect at Bali Hai Pier Oct. 12. Among the contingent of officers were police from Pattaya and Provincial Police Region 2, the 14th Military Circle, Banglamung District, Internal Security Operations Command, Narcotics Control Office Region 2, Marine Police and police volunteers. From Pattaya Mail Many parts of Pattaya and Jomtien were inundated on Monday after three hours of heavy rains caused by the monsoon. The east side of the city railroads braced high level of floods. Vehicles were blocked off by the officials to prevent disasters on the railroads, and Pattaya third roads. Soi Buakhao, Soi Yensabai in south Pattaya and Soi Khao Talo were among the locations suffered at least two feet of water height. The water is receding in the afternoon. Nonetheless, the weather is unpredictable since the monsoon is still covering the eastern provinces and the causing high tides in Pattaya bay.

From Coconuts Bangkok Miami’s infamously rowdy hip-hop festival Rolling Loud is rolling into Pattaya next year during Songkran. Organizers announced this evening that the festival will fill three days in April at Pattaya’s Legend Siam amusement park. Although there was no lineup announced, organizers said the festival would feature 66 artists on two stages. From the Thaiger Last night, Samui Cruise hosted a launch party in Koh Samui after its test run for a new cruise ferry route between Koh Samui and Pattaya. The service is expected to launch later in the month though exact departure dates have not been set. The boat journey takes 0ver 12 hours in each direction and is planned to depart at 5pm from Pattaya and Samui, arriving at the destination port by 8am. From Pattaya News A massive explosion obliterated several Thai restaurants and a building in the center of Pattaya and seriously injured one Laotian worker. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. The explosion shook parts of Pattaya at 5.50 a.m. early this morning, August 30th.
