Devilish Eats is now my favorite restaurant in Thailand. Their food is amazing and the service is excellent. I found them on Food Panda and ordered from them 40 times before trekking to the restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. For Thanksgiving, they cooked an entire turkey for our group and all the fixings included. For Christmas, the owner decorated up the way my southern aunts decorate and even the utensils had a stocking holder. However, it is not just the attention to detail that makes me like the place. The food is absolutely delightful. I love every part of the menu but my favorite is their gourmet burger. It has a homemade cranberry chutn…

Covid changed things and one thing that is good is that there are now massage services that deliver guys to your door. I normally get them for 3k all inclusive and that is an OK rate if I don't want to travel. Specifically, Homespa, 24m, 15m, and Intra all do delivery. Kman and KK are hit and miss depending on the guys. Does anyone else know if places that delivery consistently?

Unless you want to date them, it's probably good practice to keep arm's length from unknown amorous labyboys. From The Thaiger A ladyboy was arrested for stealing 10,700 baht from an Israeli tourist on Sukhumvit Soi 4 in Bangkok. A 63 year old man of Israeli nationality travelled to Lumpini Police Station late on Monday night to report that a ladyboy stole 10,700 baht from his pocket as she hugged him. The victim managed to snap a quick photo of the thief which he showed to the police. Soon enough, police found a ladyboy with the same appearance as the photo standing alone in Sukhumvit Soi 4 in Bangkok’s Khlong Teoi district. Police opened her LYN bran…

From Coconuts Bangkok The glory that was Pantip Plaza, circa 2008. Photo: Sergey/CC BY-SA 2.0 Zig-zagging up and down escalators to compare prices on hard drives and video cards while weaving past hawkers chanting “sexy movie, you buy.” Shopping for hardware, pirated software, and VCDs at Pantip Plaza was once a Bangkok rite of passage. That era formally ended two years ago, and now the former IT mall on Phetchaburi Road’s next chapter is reopening as a “wholesale food department store” called AEC Food Wholesale Pratunam. Pantip Plaza (really Pantip Pratunam, as there are also Pantips in Ngamwongwan, Bang Kapi and Chiang Mai) had been dead for ab…

This shop is located on Sutthisan Winitchai Rd., about a 20-minute walk from Saphan Kwai BTS. I discovered it too late in my last trip to give it a try but have been following it on social media. It posted some new staff photos yesterday and I'm inclined to move it to near the top of my next trip's itinerary. https://www.facebook.com/bthousebkk/

From The Nation Bangkok opened its newest park on Monday, aiming to serve as an exercise space for over 800,000 people in the city’s central business district. The catchily named National Sports Development Fund-Sports Authority of Thailand (NSDF-SAT) Park links three city parks – Benchakitti, Benchakitti Forest and Lumphini – to provide a green jogging and exercise route through the city centre. The park/route uses 5 rai (0.8 hectares) of the three parks, plus the so-called “green mile” elevated walkway that links Benchakitti and Lumphini parks. It’s located on the road next to the Tobacco Authority of Thailand in Khlong Toei distric…

The Thaiger published an article about 10 "secret hidden bars" in Bangkok today. Although most are in the upscale areas of Sukhumvit, a few are in waking distance of Silom. One of them (Smalls) in Suan Plu was recommended to me over five years ago and I've enjoyed the music, refreshments and atmosphere ever since. Address: 186, 3-4 Suan Phlu 1 Alley, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok 10120 Opening hours: Tuesday, closed Wednesday – Monday: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM Venture to Suan Phlu Soi 1 to uncover Smalls Bar, an eclectic, three-story venue housed in a restored 1960s shophouse. To find this hidden treasure, look for the inconspicuous black door with a …

From Coconuts Bangkok The guys of GCircuit are coming back with a splash for four party-packed days of Songkran. Billed as one of the world’s hottest events on the gay circuit, the festival this year celebrates its 17th anniversary – and return from a long, dry hiatus – under a sci-fi theme of The Big Bang from April 13 to 16. “There’s a transformative stage, basically a stage that transforms! Holograms and kinetic giant LEDs! And high-budget produced shows and costumes, one of them being a tribute to the queens we love and the queens who love us!” GCircuit founder Tom Tan told Coconuts. And Tan promised a whopping six parties in those four days:…

From Coconuts Bangkok The fight against Thailand’s draconian booze laws continues next month when a community of brewers gathers for what’s billed as Thailand’s “biggest craft beer event ever.” The inaugural Beer People Festival will run March 11 and 12 – inside The Street Ratchada shopping mall, where more than 200 labels will be shown off by brewers from throughout the country. Among the 400 expected flavors are barrel-aged mango papaya salad, tom yum soup, coconut and coffee stout, and more. not exactly a newbie to the Bangkok bar scene but it’s been a long time … I gather the off-fee can be around 500B but I’m wondering what’s the normal going rate for both a short time and an over-night with a young man these days. And yes I’m a believer in providing more when the results are worth while.

One Bangkok (pictured in an artist;'s rendering above) is being worked on around the clock at the intersection of Rama 4 and Wireless Rd. (opposite Lumpini Park).
