  1. Chicago to Louisville, where the flight was heading, is less than 5 hours by car. Again, I am not really defending the airlines here, but the, "I can't be bumped because I'm a doctor" line is bullshit.
  2. As much of a PR disaster as this is for United Airlines, I would like to make a few points that are often left out of discussion: 1) The flight was a United Express flight, not a regular United Airlines flight. United Express is United's brand name for short-haul regional flights, and those flights are subcontracted to individually-owned regional airlines. In this case, the flight was being operated by Republic Airlines, who employs the flight crew and manages logistics. 2) In accordance with typical airline procedures, the crew first offered to pay cash in exchange for volunteers to give up their seats. Unfortunately, after offering $800, they announced that if it was not taken, passengers would be chosen randomly by the computer to be bumped. It should have tried offering more before going the random route in my opinion. 3) When the computer came up with the man's seat number, he refused to get off on the basis that he was a doctor. Now, a lot has been made over the theory that the man was chosen because he was Asian. I personally think there is nothing to that theory, but it is interesting that the man, while decrying supposed racial discrimination, was asking for class discrimination. His argument was he should not be bumped because he has an important job. Therefore, someone with a less important job should be bumped. I would not have appreciated being chosen because a doctor was deemed more important than me to get bumped. 4) The man was not removed by airport or airline staff but by Chicago police officers. The airlines reserve the right to eject any passenger they want. They are under no legal or contractual obligation to fly ticket holders anywhere. When a passenger has been chosen to be bumped and refuses to go, what do you do? At that point it's trespassing. And if a trespasser refuses to go willingly, he or she runs the risk of being forcibly ejected, which happened in this case. United is obviously suffering terrible PR fallout from this incident, but I do think the story could do with a little more nuance than what I have seen discussed in a lot of social media spaces.
  3. I try. I've mentioned in previous threads but you may not be aware that the PBM site was what inspired my initial visit to Thailand in my mid-20s, and during my earliest visits tracking down some of the models that I'd been particularly infatuated with was a major focus at that time.
  4. Because it was a post I fired off in the middle of the night after an evening of drinks and other intoxicants with friends and the following morning found myself in a different mindset. Some longing and loneliness was probably also partially to blame for the original post.
  5. Ironically, this thread was headed down the rabbit hole before you resurrected it ;-) I assume now it will resume its descent. Thankfully.
  6. No, again, the thread was primarily about soliciting other people's experiences, though I had originally promised to tell a story of my own. And, as I also already said, "decided against it." I have known him several years, and the story of how we met is somewhat unusual, but I've decided to keep it to myself for now.
  7. The fisting was incidental. I mentioned his work in PBM for the aforementioned reasons and linked to the site. Quoting the descriptions was probably a rhetorical flourish too far but not much out of line by the threads standards. And, again, my intention was to gauge if others had encounters with him. Every single photo on this website might be of a guy who now regrets it and wishes it didn't exist. Others may have no feeling about it one way or the other and still others might be exhibitionists who enjoy that there are photos of themselves floating around. None of us have anyway of knowing one way or the other without direct communication with the subject.
  8. I decided against it. Although, one day I might work up the courage to share it. For what it's worth, I've known him several years and we remain in contact. If you're trying to imply that I am lying or that you don't believe me, I'm fine with that.
  9. 1. PBM is/was a niche pornographic site aimed precisely at the type of people interested in this forum. 2. There was once a long involved thread identifying the models in a "where are they now" type fashion. 3. Other members have discussed encounters they have had with models from pornographic sites. 4. I quoted the video descriptions from the site and gave warning that they contained coarse language, as is typical for such sites. 5. Members have shared personal photos and graphic details of sexual encounters they have had with guys. I think if there is a "line," it's already been crossed many times by many members. That said, my intent was plainly stated. I had fond memories of our time together and was curious if other members had similar experiences. And as far as your beef goes with some xtube user, what does that have to do with me? I shared nothing but what's available with 2 seconds of Googling and credited the original.
  10. Well, admittedly, I was drunk when I wrote that. But I'm fine with it being "distasteful." I mean, come on, read the typical trip report.
  11. I am not talking about the farang issue. I am talking about the general attitude many Thais have towards members of other ethnic groups and gave examples of the Burmese and the Khmer. As for the rest of your statement, I don't see how it has anything to do with what I, or anyone else, has written here.
  12. Most countries are "racist" by western standards. Forget farang, the typical Thai is likely to have quite negative feelings towards neighboring Burmese and Khmer. Siam was renamed Thailand in the 1940s in a blatant move of ethno-nationalism. One of the reasons that Thailand does not function well as a nation-state is because its borders enclose competing nationalities. Northeast Isan is much more culturally and linguistically aligned with Laos than it is with the rest of Thailand.
  13. He was featured on PBM as "Not." http://www.privateboymovie.com/asian/?tag=not (NSFW....obviously) Here are some descriptions... "Not got his clothes of in a hurry and it did not take long before he showed his deepthroat skills on the cameraman. So that lead to Not getting fucked hard, and got a thick glass toy pushed in and out of his elastic hole. He obvious had allot of experience taking big cocks and sextoys up his smooth ass, but never a fist. So here for his first time he takes a hand all the way up his butt, and he loved it! See it all in members area now." "Not is well know to be able to take it all and he loves white cock. Here he don’t hesitate getting his clothes of, smearing that sexy body in with baby oil. That cock got rock hard and it did not take long before the cameraman latex gloved hands were all over him, and inside him. See cute Not deep throathing white cock, get fucked and even get fisted deep! When he finally were allowed to cum he had to eat it all before rewarded with a load from the cameraman all over his smooth wide fucked slutty ass." Before I give my personal experience, I'd love to hear from anyone else who had the extreme pleasure of meeting Leo/Not from by pure chance...
  14. But are "your scam stories" really a request for scams you're "aware of?" Obviously fraud is present and prevalent everywhere on the globe. It's part of the human condition. But not everyone is uniformly scammed. Doesn't individual naivete and, yes sorry, even stupidity play some role in it? When I was growing up, the used car salesman was pretty much the living embodiment of the fast-talking bullshit artist. But then you realize...well, obviously these techniques work or they'd stop using them. I've never been sold a lemon, but I know people who have. Is luck really the only difference there or are some people, for a variety of factors, more open to being scammed than others? For what it's worth, I'm also a hugely skeptical person (of everything from religion and ghosts to space aliens and alternative medicine). Perhaps a more closed, skeptical disposition is protective against scams compared to a more open, trusting one. I have no answer to any of these questions, by the way. Just putting it out there as food for thought.
  15. Hate to pile on here, but to my knowledge I've never been "scammed" in my 10 years of living between the US and Thailand. In fact, oftentimes when I read stories about scams involving Thai guys, I feel like I'm peaking into a world I am totally unfamiliar with. Now it's entirely possible that this has just been pure luck. But I also can't help but feel that so long as you keep your head on straight and exercise some common sense, you will generally be in a good position.
  16. It seems like taxi drivers not wanting to use the meter happened a lot more frequently 10 years ago than it does now. Back when I did the whole Soi Twilight scene regularly, I used to always walk down to the corner of Suriwong, cross over Rama IV road, and get one of the numerous taxis parked on the street. Never had any hassle over the meter.
  17. As some may know from previous posts, I was first inspired to visit Thailand from the white top/asian bottom themed porn site privateboymovie. One of the earliest vids I saw from that site (and one of my favorites) was the one featuring ‘Ice.’ For those interested in his work for that site, you can view previews and descriptions at this link: http://www.privateboymovie.com/asian/?tag=ice Here is how he is introduced on the site: “Ice is yet another true bottom boy who love to get pounded hard in his ass. After stripping for the cameraman he gets his cock deep down his throat. But it easy to see that this guy take the true pleasure of getting the cock deep inside his ass, and hard ! Moaning and grunting while the cameraman fucked him in several positions, leaving that ass wide open. Finally after Ice cumming while fucked, he take the Cameraman’s load of cum in his mouth and he love it.” Yeah, not the classiest thing I’ve ever read, but it is a porn site after all. I have to admit, after viewing the video, I was mesmerized. Ice was exactly my type—a slim Asian twink with a deliciously shaped bubble butt. I knew at the time that most of the models featured on the site were currently working in BKK and Pattaya, and Ice was one of a handful I had hoped to discover in real life. Luckily, with a little amateur sleuthing, it did not take me long to discover he was working at a bar in Sunee, though I can no longer recall which one. Still 19 at the time, we returned to my room, viewed his PBM video together, and essentially reenacted it scene-for-scene. [Yeah, yeah…a little pervy, but I was 26 at the time, freshly out of a long-term relationship, and looking to be a little decadent and self-indulgent]. It was probably one of the most stimulating sexual encounters of my life up until that time and probably would still make the Top 10 if such a quantitative ranking was even possible. Since then, Ice and I have maintained regular contact both when I am in the states and while in Thailand, and I have met up with him on at least one occasion on nearly every trip I have ever made to Pattaya (probably somewhere around 20 times over the years). And so to this lovely guy, who truly helped to educate a neophyte sex tourist, I present this tribute. Most of these pics are from the modeling he has done for PBM. The first set are originals from when he was 19, and the other set are from just a couple of years ago (now in his late 20’s). The last bunch are a few personal snapshots (shared with permission).
  18. Really not trying to sound like an ass or play forum police, but is this really a "gay Thailand" question?
  19. My pick is Sathorn road anywhere between Rama IV and the Surasak BTS.
  20. I hate to sound like a cynic but don't you think the "loving" part is much of a stretch? After all, partnering up with someone for purely subjective reasons is a relatively new phenomenon in human history. Most marriages are arranged or conducted out of material necessity because only recently have humans been able to escape the Malthusian trap in widespread numbers. I think so called "cultural differences" are quite overstated. We're all still human beings after all. The primary difference is material well being. If Thailand had the standard of living of, say, Denmark, there would be a much less dynamic commercial sex industry. Sure a relationship between an older foreigner and a younger Thai can work, as relationships of material self-interest have worked for millennia. But to say it is built on some kind of mutual interest, love, intimacy, and respect, I have a hard time buying. But then again, behind every cynic is a romantic...a wounded one.
  21. Too lazy to read the other responses, but if it hasn't been mentioned yet, "Classic Boys" is the gold standard in Bangkok for thinks. It's been their reputation for at least 10 years. Never heard of any specific establishment in Pattaya featuring "twinks," but in my personal experience, Sunee Plaza has tended to feature more thinks than Boystown. Full disclosure: I haven't been involved in the bar scene to any significant degree for at least the last four years. I can imagine why newcomers would be attracted to it, and I would probably still recommend for newcomers to start there. But increasingly, I am recommending that they evolve from there as quickly as possible. Internet-based apps like GayRomeo, Grindr, and Jack'd are simply a much better option. No off fees, no pushy mamasans, and no pressure to buy overpriced, watered down drinks. As a newcomer, your top priority should be refining your communication skills (e.g. understanding what "Thinglish" is all about) and being able to more effectively communicate your intentions and desires. Always be willing to spend more money as a newcomer than you would as a regular; it will help ensure a fun, drama-free time while simultaneously being a big learning experience. My last piece of advice is to remember the cliche adage: "you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." Sayings become cliche for a reason, after all.
  22. That was actually my reaction to your initial post; I didn't understand it. Which "posters do not really understand Thai Boys" based on the comments in this thread? I don't disagree with the overall sentiment, I just didn't think I had seen any evidence of it in this particular thread.
  23. @Firecat69, when you were 20, how many 60 year olds were you attracted to? Of course every human being deserves to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their occupation but there's a reason commercial sex workers tend to be in their 20s and not their 40s. People are generally attracted to youth and vigor. It's also why when gay men begin to get older, they often have to resort to paid sexual encounters.
  24. What does that have to do with anything? We are judged by how we look at any given moment, not how we looked many years prior.
  25. Well, arianism will widely surprised and virtually stamped out during the medieval period. It did not really resurface as a doctrine with any force until after the Reformation.
