Happy belated birthday. I'll actually miss you in BKK. Only coming in on 1 may to pick up my Thai boyfriend and travel to Bali via SIN. We'll be in SIN 3 may afternoon to 5 may midday.

My boyfriend tells me that they extend to the next weekend in Pattaya, so chances are one gets wet there up until 17th/18th. Bangkok should be safe before 13th and after 15th.

Bangkok Air is a good choice. I've flown with them a few times in the last couple of years. They've been Skytrax Best Regional Airline 6 or 7 times in the last decade or so. They call themselves "Boutique Airline" and it shows in their service that they want to be diferent from other carriers. And of course I prefer BKK over DMK when flying from Bangkok

Lek and Mon would be the boys I'd go for. But as I'm happy with my BF of 2 years, I probably won't.

I was lurking and reading quite a bit before my first visit to LOS in 2013. Having been back several times since I now feel knowledgable enough to take part in the discussions as well.

Depends on what "decent" means to you. I personally wouldn't want to stay in one of the three hotels located diretly in Boyztown. You can't get to sleep there without earplugs before Boyztown closes down for the night. Look at "Twoguys Guesthouse" on Soi Yensabai (or their neighbour Kingfisher) if you look for something clean and cheap. They are around the Corner from the Austrian/German consulate and 5 minutes walk from Sunee Plaza. More upmarket is the Barraquda on 2nd road, across the road from a Marriott, in case you want to splurge on your room. Both are Walking distance to Boyztown.
