  1. I was in London last weekend It was my first ever visit... Amazing as I have been in and out of Heathrow loads of times on my travels to and from LOS! As an Irish man I have never found any inclination to visit... But a rice queen friend who is living there persuaded me to come over for a long weekend... I have to admit I was astounded with London Great City, Great night life, And Great... Asians! Have never seen so many gorgeous Asian guys in one place ever (LOS or S'pore or Oz) The amount of Thais in london is incredible I was so impressed I'm going agian on June 29th for Pride weekend On my last trip I stayed in The Ibis Euston at £165 for a 3 night (fri-mon) stay - Definately one of the best deals going... pity its booked out for my next trip Ibis Euston right next to Euston station, so very handy, with food Court, M&S etc And only around 20 Min walk from GAY, GAY Late etc GAY Late seems to be the new "in" place for Asian guys to visit after Kudos, The Village etc closes, Be aware that you'll have to queue for ages to get in.... I'm sure ur BF will have a ball there!
  2. I too am here for Songkran... and having a great time so far... We're off to Bangsaen now to join the songkran festivities there for the afternoon...
  3. Cadbury's Chocolate! Of the UK/Ireland variety... Made with a glass and a half of dairy cream milk etc. Not that waxy, sugar cane stuff they import from Oz and Indonesia!
  4. Well Done Yarden! I hope he enjoys the trip.... Make sure you keep him away from Dublins gay bars - or he could be running away (with ME :-P) Just Kidding - where and when is the wedding on? I'm sure ur Bf will be very popular with all the Aunts etc! If you need any holiday advice for Ireland let me know!
  5. Hi Luvthai Can you advise the approx costs of the carting on Threppasit? Is it paid per hour or for a longer session? How much do they charge per person? I'd love to bring a gang of freinds there on my next trip at Songkran! Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi YArden I spent 1.5 years trying to get a visa for my Thai BF to get a visitor visa to Ireland... It has been well documented elsewhere over teh years But we eventually got it. Last July we also successfully obtained his second VV, this time the application took only 9 days! The most important things in this and all visa applications to Ireland are: - a reason to go home at the end of the visa... These should include: -Good Job (non bar work) -Letter from reputable school - if they are a student -Family Ties in Thailand (eg. elderly parents but no wife or Kids - as they will hold this against them - perhaps they are going to Ireland to earn money to support them) -Previous Travel History to other countries -Non Brand-new passport -Land and/or property in thailand - No large deposits into their bank account - in last 6 months -Matching itinerary for all proposed travel Everything should be translated and stamped where appropriate In addition you will also need to supply: -Proof of having previously met you (photos etc) -Invitation Letter from you -Letter from you to Consulate -Your Bank Details for last 6 months -Application form and fees Note that in the case of Ireland its the Sponsors bank accounts that they look for - not the applicants (this is the opposite of most countries) Also note that the consulate in Bkk has not got the right to issue visas and must refer all applications on to the embassy in KL. There is no interview involved in the process. In my opinion, the UK visa is generally easier to obtain then an Irish visa as the Irish visa is very subjective. With a UK visa ur BF gets to talk to the person who is granting them the visa, and providing his story checks out and the paperwork is in order he will get the visa. With an irish visa, u never get to see or even contact the visa officer directly, and even if the paperwork is 100% correct they often still refuse the visa as the final decision is down the the opinion of the visa officer(and the humour they are in!) Unfortunately the 1st time applicants are usually referred to The Dept of Justice in Dublin which can take 8 weeks to processs, so make sure his flight itinerary is for at least 2 months ahead of the application date... if not it will be refused by the time they get around to reviewing the application. In your case seeing as he already has 2 x UK VVs he might not get referred to Dublin. If your BF is from Issan you might find that
  7. I bought a litre of Johnny Black in Bkk airport Duty free 2 weeks ago... Brought it on Board My flight and flew to Paris no problems... In CDG before boarding my flight to Dublin my bottle was confiscated - according to the French security staff one may only fly on an inter-EU flight with Duty free purchased in the EU... So beware next time on your flights home... I'm sure the nasty piece of work who stole my whiskey is enjoying it!
  8. Have you ever noticed how a boy suddenly becomes more appealing once he is sitting (or after being offed) by a farang? I have often stared in wonderment as I see a boy (who I had seen earlier in the night in some bar) entering BBB or LCR on the arm of a farang... Suddenly that ugly duckling has turned into a swan! (Or maybe that
  9. Like Pete1969 i could not survive without several phone calls a day to thailand. Usually call Morning afternoon and evening. Most of the time just to say "hi" but others can be 50-60 mis in length I use Voipstunt to call thailand (www.voipstunt.com Dodgy sounding name but great service)
  10. I doubt ES deliberately took the whole site offline... Could it also be that he is so incommunicado that he never received the bill/warning notices from his hosting company? We previously had issues with the old URL when ES let that lapse, however I have looked up the Whois information on the domain and it is still valid until: Expiration date: 16 Oct 2006 22:24:17
