  1. yes i have looked at most of the sites that list and details these places, but often find more candid and informative views by putting the question out to less filtered venues such as this one.... but thanks.
  2. So, not to be the Board Bore, but, again... five years away and now that I am back I am re-inventing a wheel or two. Can someone suggest a massage place for me? It looks like some of the ones I used to go to are no longer around and I simply cannot decode what I am finding out there in cyberspace. I live in Charoen Krung area, would prefer a least stressful bit of travel, but as we all know good things are worth a trip... (Should I be supplying any other details???) Thanks again, everyone!
  3. Hey guys... Good to be back in BKK after an absence of some four years... I am, of course, putting together a trip report with what are, to me at least, some interesting observations from a different lens (why are there the same massage boys on Soi Twilight as when I left last time?),but that will come with the easing of persistent jet lag discomfort (long trip from New York...) For the moment, a Babylon question, though... I have a friend arriving from Manila in a few days and he is eager to try some more open settings for play. As I recall, there is a sort of dungeon-y area at Babylon but when I was there (yesterday) I could not find it, which makes me think that not all areas are open at all times ... I was there for day time poolside relaxation. Can anyone help me/us out here? BTW.... Not to dilute my own topic, but let me throw in a side query... When I went back to my old fave, the now rather sad Super A, I was really annoyed by the pressure to buy drinks for people I had no interest in. How can one politely decline such unwanted pressure? Thanks - and good to be back!
  4. May I jump into this thread and ask about a good place to stay in CM for a brief (3-4 night) visit? I have not been up there in years and feel a bit lost on the topic!
  5. Just an FYI to all interested... Several days after my issues with Tui's website and unanswered emails, I received today some extremely apologetic and helpful emails - as I have always enjoyed my stay at Tui's I will return there and share my experience with my fellow board-persons, as I understand the status of Tui's has been the subject of some discussion. Thanks, again, to everyone!
  6. thanks for this guys - really impressed by Agate and it seems to have a better location in that it is more walkable to the beach - true?? must say that i miss tui's location and am quite concerned about their failure to respond to me... knowing tui himself rather well, i hope it is not a sign that they are in trouble!
  7. Hey all... I have been a loyal customer of Tui's Place for many years but for some reason I cannot use their on-line booking system and they do not answer my direct inquiries.... (I am still in the USA and this is for mid-August) So maybe it's time to "move on"! Could anyone recommend a place to stay in the Jomtien area? My needs are simple - perhaps - something nice-ish, but not TOO noisy.... Really appreciate it....
  8. I particularly welcome the OP's observation that: SUPER A, GOLDEN COCK AND NATURE BOYS -- These holes in the wall deserve our support because they represent an alternative to the standard fare. I hope they can hold out. After far too much time on Soi Twilight, these places came to be my favorites spots to relax, to meet some guys, to have some good conversation, and they will be the first places I hit upon my return next month (August). We gotta show these places some love, for real!
  9. Time to "vote with your feet"...
  10. I promise to do so.... But be warned, I am cut from some pretty classic academic cloth - so be prepared to warn me if i wax too prolific!
  11. i believe good service deserves good reward, hehe
  12. Super helpful advice, guys. I do the sex club and party scene in NYC often enough to understand the sometime awkward dynamic and also know that Thailand carries its own layer of complications on top. We are FAR from shy though and perhaps can provide the spark to ignite some fire, hehe. Yet the notion of hiring is fun too. Perhaps I will off a guy on my own first and pop the question of a second hire for me and my friend. Of course I will report back!
  13. Hey guys, thanks for reading this... So here is my situation. I will be in BKK for a few months (starting in August) and my Filipino fuck-bud will be joining me for a week or so. We have known one another for many years, and he recently visited me in NYC where we discovered we love 3ways and group play... I am very much top, he is VERY much bottom. FWIW: i am still fit thai-speaking white guy of a certain age, he is 30 years old. So, we would like to continue our pursuit of fun in BKK/Pattaya... Either commercial or non-commercial play would be awesome. Some ideas: Thinking of putting up a gayromeo profile for the two us... Thinking of trying to get some fun going at Babylon... Wondering: would this work by going to a bar and offing a guy for us? Is this something possible? Should I perhaps off a guy one-on-one first and then make the suggestion for a later hire? Interested to hear some feedback....!
  14. I stayed for a month at an airbnb property at the very end of sathorn near the saphan thaksin subway stop and could not have been more pleased.... it is a great area, a bit away from the nightlife section so a real thai community that has developed there has been allowed to flourish uninterrupted also some amazing eating options along charoen krung road! happy to try to find more details upon request!
  15. wow that is valuable information - an important part of my pattaya routine has always been stumbling out of Tui's onto the beach and hanging out there as long as i can would you say that is no longer an option? thanks!
  16. When I was a "newbie", I restricted my activities to the places that newbies tend to go - but over the years I developed a good Thai language speaking/listening ability and a greater connection to the country - I actually did my academic field work in Bangkok... I have been fortunate to be taken under several wings.... both farang and Thai... who helped me to consdierably broaden my horizons and go off the beaten track. so.... while i do enjoy being a spectator on soi twilight, it is very much as an ethnographic thing... even though i have become "known" on the soi, i rarely play the customer role there. (more likely to make a bud there and go out to a night of isaan music...) but i do like the small bars around Super A, and i do like the saunas less commonly frequented by the Babylon crowd. i will be there for at least the month of (rainy) August - and looking for some very cool adventures! btw: has anyone recently been to (my bud's) Tui Guesthouse in Pattaya? How is that place holding up? love to all of you from NYC....
  17. Greetings from New York City, guys! I used to be in Bangkok every year for professional (and other) reasons every year for many years, including some very extended stays. Finally going to be able to have some quality time back in Thailand after about all these years away - will base myself in BKK and spend most of my time there (but by no means all...) I know this may be an overly broad question, but... should I be expecting things to have changed much? (I imagine they have...) My typical routine used to be daytime at the gym and pool at babylon... early eve drinks on one of the terraces on Soi Twilight... ending the eve with visits to the small bars around Super A/Nature Boy, and so on... Still a viable plan???? Thanks! All suggestions sincerely welcome!
  18. Now that Corey is gone, no reason for me to tune in... at all...
