May I respectfully suggest that you take your observation with them instead of here where we are already well acquainted with your extensive experience with safety in São Paulo.  Anyway, what are you doing in a review of a place that you know like the back of your hand?  Don’t you have any important things to do?

What a strange and inappropriate post you just made.

Your post is more absurd than that fake Sao Paulo review I discussed.

For your information, I read many things.

I happened to come across that false review of Sao Paulo posted in a respected travel cite.   I was amazed at how inaccurate it is with its false claim of Sao Paulo being safe while it is not safe.

I commented in this forum to warn others in case they see that same incorrect review of Sao Paulo and believe it.

After my alert, you alleged that the review was intended to be fiction - which is not correct.

Now you wrote that I should not read reviews about places I know well - - - - You asked - "Don't I have more important things to do"

    Yes, I do.

One of those important things to do is to acknowledge that you are an internet troll.

How disappointing - You had some interesting posts to this forum in the past.   I cannot imagine what motivated you to write your bizarre response as you did.

  2. I am not in Brazil as I write this.  This information is based on a phone call I had yesterday from a Brazilian friend I have known many years who lives in Sao Paulo.   He goes to Lagoa often.

    First - number one -

Rodolfo has been upset about the lease on Lagoa expiring and having to move the sauna to a different location (it costs money).

As a result, Rodolfo has been eating a lot out of frustration and has gained almost fifteen kilos since the new facility negotiations began.  My friend said Rodolfo now walks around the sauna with a big belly and had to buy new trousers that would fit him.  When I last saw Rodolfo a little more than one month ago, he did not have a big belly.

    Second - number two -

There is finally an agreement reached on a new facility for Lagoa - Therefore, for those who thought Lagoa would go out of business, stop thinking about it - it is not going to happen.

    Third - number three -

There will an announcement made soon advising clients and garotos about the move and the location address which appears to be set for sometime in October.  A confirmation (advertisement) will be sent to verify the actual move date and location.

After the move takes place, those who know Rodolfo, please tell him to lay off the ice cream and cookies - the weight he gained is not becoming on him according to my friend who reported this information to me yesterday.

That is done in fiction all the time.  Take for example, Gorky Park which is a 1981 crime novel written by American author Martin Cruz Smith. In spite of its chilling verisimilitude, he has actually never been to the site of his detective story.

Take a look at the site that sponsored that article - www.travelmagma.com

It is a respected travel site that advises travelers and/or suggests places for travelers to visit.

    Click on this link:

http://www.travelmagma.com/ then click on "ABOUT US" and watch their video.

That link takes you to a site that offers travel information and suggestions about many places in the world.

Obviously, when it comes to the review and suggestions about Sao Paulo, they goofed - big time.

The information was not intended to be fiction based on the link provided that shows the services offered by the site.

That cite makes money (commissions) for travel shown on its site.

Based on a read of the Sao Paulo article, it is clear that the author has never been to Sao Paulo to falsely conclude assumptions about the city being safe.

Or, if that person really visited Sao Paulo and believes the city is safe, the person is delusional or had an armored travel escort while visiting.

Thanks for that information.  I think this is the first time I am hearing about a bus.  And the tip regarding the local airports is golden.

You're right there's a lot of information on this board but finding what you need here is like searching in a jar of nickels 4 specific Nichols...

Thanks for the information it will come in handy. Now for something completely different, I realized I have to learn the language a little. I was talkin with a guy there and I agreed that I like fetish and he sent me a link of himself pissing in a guys mouth...  That showed me I need to have some understanding of what is being said hahaha

    Hi Bucky,

I am glad that some of my information is useful for you.

Regarding the bus from Rio to Sao Paulo or vice versa you can google that and you will find the schedules and rates and places to catch the bus.

If you decide to use the domestic airports, when you check flight schedules, make sure you enter the airport codes for domestic.  For example, Sao Paulo is GRU for internations but CGH for congonhas domestic, the downtown airport.  Likewise, for Rio the downtown airport is SDU not GIG for the international airports.

You should probably wait until you arrive in Brazil before you decide on the bus or the airplane between the two cities.  The bus is fun the first time and the restaurant is nice.  Using the airports is a hassle.  It is a trade off what you feel like doing to get between the cities.

The garotos told me about the bus.  I thought it was a bad idea until I went with one on the bus and I was pleasantly surprised.

Remember, the garotos are frequently traveling between Rio and Sao Paulo to make money in the saunas.  It is nothing unusual to see a garoto in Sao Paulo that you met in Rio and vice versa.   Many travel on the bus to save money but mainly to save time.  Also, they can sleep on the bus while on the one hour flight, it is not practical to attempt to sleep.

As to your learning the language, you surely don't think you are going to learn enough about the language to be able to communicate complicated subjects to garotos you meet.  Rather, I assume you have a small phone that includes a computer translator.  If so, and when you find a garoto (assuming in the sauna) that you like and you feel is compatible, you can enter your request in the translator and show it to the garoto.  The worst thing the garoto can do is say no.  Or, he can say yes or point you to someone who is willing to go along with your desire.

Again, have a great time and be prepared to sprint quickly through the Bush air terminal in Houston.

    EDIT -

See this regarding the bus service between Rio and Sao Paulo:

    https://www.busbud.com/en/bus-schedules-results/75cm8y/6gyf4c?outbound_date=2019-08-30&adults=1

The company I used was 1001 - they have the seats that are plush and become flat, if you like.

The link discusses seats that recline etc.

As a matter of fact I am taking this trip now before Trump builds the wall. Once the wall goes up how are the planes going to get out?

Originally I planned to only visit Rio di Janeiro. But after I booked my ticket and talked to a guy on PlanetRomeo I've decided to spend two to three days in Sao Paulo.

I got a deal with United airways and they only have one connecting flight in Texas. The flight cost me $1,100 but it was not the average $1,300 or more that most major airlines we're asking for.

Trump will find a way to stop aircraft unless they lock him in a looney bin first.

I think you are wise visiting both cities, Rio and Sao Paulo.  I know both cities well.

You can find a lot of travel information about each of those cities on this forum that should make your trip easier.  If you have any question that is not already posted and answered, let me know.

You chose United Airlines.  I use them often.  They are reliable and mostly on time.  The airport in Texas (Houston) where you will connect from your domestic flight to the Brazil flight is huge.  Allow at least fifteen minutes to get to various gates unless you are a runner.  The airport is enormous and has many terminals.

After you arrive in Brazil and when you decide to travel from either Rio or Sao Paulo to the other city, you can take a "domestic" flight.  That means you leave from the downtown airports of either city rather than the far out international airports.

This saves you money and time.  The domestic airports are down town.  Uber or taxis are cheaper than if you landed at the international airports.

Alternatively, there is a very nice bus service that goes between Rio and SP that takes usually about five hours, considering the traffic.  The bus is cheap and has excellent comfortable seats.  The seats are huge and can be adjusted down flat in case you care to sleep.  The bus is like business class on an airplane if you want an idea of what you get is you take a bus.  There is a restroom on the bus.

Taking a bus might seem like a lot of time however, if you factor in the time needed to arrive at the airports the bus is not that much more time.  It is certainly an unusual experience that allows you to see a bit of Brazil between the two cities.

About half way between the two cities, the bus stops at a very nice roadway restaurant so that passengers can get a meal, if wanted.  Or, passengers can stay on the bus and sleep.  Only about 45 minutes is allowed for the restaurant stop.

    That is it for now.

    Have fun in Brazil.

Are you back from your trip to Brazil? If so I would love to know the details of your time there. I'm also a well-traveled visitor to Thailand going on my first trip to Brazil in October and I would love to know the experiences of another first timer.

Bucky, you have been away a long time.

Good to see you posting again.

I thought you disappeared because Trump got you to stay away.

    Have fun in Brazil.

You mentioned only "Brazil" in your post.  Brazil is a big place.  Do you intend to visit Sao Paulo and Rio or other places?

Brazil is huge and a different experience will be gained in different cities.

In Rio, I'm pretty much able to stick to the saunas, but in Sampa both the saunas are worse IMHO and the internet escorts hotter (I really like the hairier Mediterranean-type guys that are common on the escort sites in SP) and I have to say I have had pretty good experiences with the internet escorts (some really passionate)

In Sao Paulo, if you prefer to avoid using the saunas for meeting with garotos, there are many hourly hotels that you can use

These hourly hotels charge anywhere from R$20 to R$35 per hour.

They require identification from the garoto before accessing the room.  The identification is held by the receptionist until you both leave, assuming everything is fine.

The above procedure offers some safety rather than having an unknown garoto come to your hotel or airbnb or you go to them.

    Good luck

Has anyone been to Fragata lately? I have just been reading Google reviews (which must be treated with caution) and the messages are mixed. Has there been any renovations? What the number and quality of the boys? I have fond memories of Fragata over the years but on the last occasion it was getting very run down. Comments welcome.

Hi @mvan1 I've never been to VIla Gianni, but from what I've read it is a similar experience.

You need to book in advance, just send them a message on whatsapp. Can be 15 minutes before, but they need to know that you are going there. I believe the managers can understand english, but keep it simple.

You can select from the pictures or ask who is there and if you can choose in the massage place.

@ Inhouse the boys will enter, one each time, in your room and chat a bit before you choose.

Thank you for the additional information.

Based on what you described, Villa Giani is similar as you supposed.

There is no problem with the requirement for me to book in advance.

I suppose I can get their whatsapp number either on the internet or call them on their regular phone to get the whatsapp number.

Thanks also for the comment about the managers possibly speaking English. However, after my sixteen years of visiting Brazil more than one hundred times for extended periods of time, I have no problem communicating in Portuguese.  .

What a unique alternative to the saunas.  I have seen many saunas go out of business over the years.

The idea seems great for both the client and the garoto.  No one I met has heard of this alternative and no garoto ever mentioned the alternative to me.

    Thanks again -

  10. I have been visiting Brazil for sixteen years and never heard of this alternative way to meet a garoto.

I will have to check it out next time I return, which should be in September.

I think many of us are so accustomed to the sauna and its ease of meeting guys, it will a new experience using this alternative.

Is is possible to have a short conversation with the garoto before agreeing to a massage?

What if you go to the facility and there is no one to your liking - are you obliged to stay until someone appears?

Is it somewhat like Vila Gianni in London?

    Thanks in advance

    2) Inhouse

    3) Xtudio Lotus

Spazio is near Veloso, a bar that has a very good coxinha and caipirinhas.

Thanks for the information about the Gold reference.

I am only familiar with the guys at Lagoa or Fragata (and other saunas) who offer massage service.   I was not aware of off premises (sauna) facilities.

  12. Frequent travelers from the U.S. to Brazil know that American Airlines has the most number of flights from the U.S. to Brazil than any other U.S. airline.

Frequent flyers might also be aware that American Airlines is having lawsuits with their mechanics because of alleged intentional delays by mechanics to fix mechanical issues on flights or perform normal aircraft maintenance.

Customers get difficult and cranky with airlines employees when their flight is late or cancelled.  As a result, the employees from American Airlines have been getting nasty and cranky with passengers who complain about late or cancelled flights.

Management at American Airlines has issued instructions to their employees instructing them to be nice to passengers.  Normally, instructions like that would not be appropriate.

Things must be bad when management has to instruct employees to stop being so difficult to passengers.

Those going to Brazil might want to consider using a different airline until the issues with American Airlines mechanics is resolved.

Here is a little story about the issue:

    Hi,

    You got me confused!

    I know Sao Paulo well.

I am not aware of a Gold gym or a massage place called Gold.

There is a sort of gym called Gold S Gym located in an area of Sao Paulo called Morumbi which is way out in the newer area of Sao Paulo where Hyatt Hotel and Hilton et are relocated.    That area is far from most places although there is a shopping area nearby.  Foot traffic around Hyatt and Hilton is near impossible due to heavy traffic and the lack of sidewalks in the area.

Do you have information about a gym called Gold that is closer to Sao Paulo rather than out in Morumbi?

Below is what is shown on the internet for "Gold" which is not a gay place at all.

Sports & Recreation · São Paulo, SP, Brazil
    Morumbi

  14. Hi,

It appears you got your photos from one of the advertising sites in Brazil that advertises escorts.

Even though the advertising sites are tempting, you, as a new visitor to Brazil, are better off meeting escorts at the rent saunas.

There is safety in the saunas.

One of the most important things a new visitor to Brazil needs is safety.

Meeting a guy from an ad could result in a wonderful meeting.

However, it could also result in an advertiser using fake photos to lure you to their facility.

New visitors should get their fun at the saunas where you have the safety factor.

As to your question about English speaking - - - don't count on it.  English is not normally spoken in Brazil.  If you have a smart phone, you can use the translator function to communicate with escorts so that you have a good understanding of any agreement you make with the escort.

You mentioned your desire to visit Sao Paulo.  There are two rent saunas in that city.  I think you will not have any problem meeting escorts if you visit those Sao Paulo saunas.  The most popular sauna is Lagoa.  Most likely, based on the photos you posted, Lagoa is where you will find what you seek.  The other sauna in Sao Paulo is Fragata which can be good but also it is unpredictable with some nights very empty of escorts.

    Good luck on your trip.

Leaving Mykonos darker, lighter in the wallet and in LOVE with the island...

First timer and I came for Excelsior and I should have came YEARS ago...

Hi, did you mean XLSIOR rather than Excelsior as you wrote?

I am familiar with the large XLSIOR gay party that is held each year (since 2009) and is currently in progress until August 28 that is called XLSIOR.

If XLSIOR is the correct name, I hope you enjoy what the events and all the island has to offer.

Just to confirm, you really like what is found in Mykonos more than you like Rio and Clube 117?

    Appreciate all the feedback....

    The best?

That is difficult to answer.  What one person considers good, another person may deem awful.   As an old proverb goes, "there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so."

You stated that you want to see places you have not visited.

I can recommend Berlin, Germany.  I have visited there several times although it is not my favorite city.

My visits to Berlin were usually to visit there with my German relatives and for other reasons.

I did venture out with friends on occasion into the three largest gay sections of Berlin.  There is a lot of gay activity in Berlin and it is unlikely you would be disappointed if you choose that city to visit.

Ignoring Berlin's misfortune connected with that psycho Adolph Hitler (resurrected as Donald Trump) there is a lot of history in Berlin.  Much of the history has been preserved.  Much of Berlin has been restored and is quite beautiful and modern.

On a personal note, I do not prefer light skinned people as romantic objects.  It is just a personal thing with me.

    You might find Berlin enjoyable.

Many light skinned people find dark skinned people attractive.

In the gay scene, I found that countless Germans prefer dark skinned people.  This occurs also in the non gay scene in Germany.

You can consult various gay rags and find wild places in Berlin like found in no other cities I know.

Although you already missed the pride parade of this year, one is held each year.

Here is a link to a brief narrative describing the Berlin Gay Pride Parade.

    https://www.misterbandb.com/gay-events/germany/berlin/gay-pride

If you are looking for a new place to visit, you would not regret selecting Berlin.

I hope this gives you one more place to consider for the future.

    Good luck

  17. Brazil:

Brazil is the world's largest exporter of coffee, soybeans, beef, and crop-based ethanol.

All of the above products need land on which to grow (and later be exported).

Burning the plant life of the Amazon in order to acquire growing farm space is what Bolsonaro has on his agenda.

However, he is getting opposition from Europe and threats to boycott products exported from Brazil.

    How will this madness end?

  18. 1 hour ago, SolaceSoul said:

An estimated 20% of the world’s oxygen is produced by the Amazon rainforest! If destroyed or degraded, the Amazon, as a system, is simply beyond humanity’s ability to get back. Even if people were to replant half a continent’s worth of trees, the diversity of creatures across Amazonia, once lost, will not be replenished for roughly 10 million years.

What happens to the Amazon is ALL of our business. Oxygen is far more valuable to humans and living creatures than oil. This is non-negotiable.

It is not only oil Brazil wants from the Amazon.  Bolsonaro and his buddies want to clear the plant life in order to have more space to grow more exportable food and animal products, mainly - beef.

Brazil is already a heavy exporter of beef and other farm products.  The additional land made available (by burning and clearing the Amazon) will, supposedly, allow Brazil to increase farm production thus bringing in more money to Brazil via exports to other countries.

As to the air being reduced from the deforestation - that is also a hoax according to Trump and Bolsonaro (despite scientific proof to the contrary).

"Global warming is a hoax" is a montra often repeated by Trump and/or Bolsonaro and/or any of their many low IQ supporters).

Trump has an easy solution for those who are gullible enough "to believe the hoax".  If the worldwide oxygen really thins to a point of being an issue to all life (animal and plant), we humans can always survive if we each buy one of these things:

    https://store.mainclinicsupply.com/inogen-one-g3-portable-oxygen-concentrator-p/inogen-c.htm#&panel1-4?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwIPrBRCJARIsAFlVT8_Jn72_amf06p82nRV7v6Uy3axI9iNJTT1tOQAQTMSlPFFhh2HdpQAaAmCyEALw_wcB

The morons (Trump, Bolsonaro and their puttet supporters) forgot to mention that food we eat to live (animal and plant life) also needs oxygen to grow and survive.

Those morons offer no logical solution.  They continue to repeat the false claim that global warming is a hoax and that deforestation of the Amazon is not a real threat.  Moreover, such an act will result in a major source of food and revenue to Brazil.

    Rubbish -
