Day 6-7 Salvador, Bahia The shift in climate with a mere 2 hour flight surprises me. The humidity and heat surround me as I climb into my uber, it is a ~35 minute ride to my airbnb in the Bohemian neighborhood of Rio Vermelho. The sun has already set and a drizzle has started. I pray for good weather in the coming days. More than any other city, Salvador is the city I wanted to explore and take in. The stomach won and I started looking for restaurants around my airbnb. In contrast to SP, the streets of Salvador are mostly empty by 6 PM and there are very few businesses on each street. The restaurants that are open, they lock their front doors but will open if you get their attention. After a pizza stick and a hot shower, I tuck in for the night.
