Image and video forum

Recommended Posts

This forum has become extremely difficult and frustrating to read due to the daily number of (great) images and videos being posted here. It's almost tiring to find the threads versus the eye candy.

Am I the only one who would like to see a separate forum for these images?

As much as I love swimming, I hate wading through the shallow end to get to the deep water.:D

And while we're on the topic of images. One of the things I have hated most about this forum is that you have to be logged in to view images that are attachments. If the image is supported by an outside hosting site, it's fine, but the majority of images, for example, that Zipper posts are direct attachments from his pc or mac.

It would be of greater value to all if attachments could be viewed without having to be logged in and perhaps might even snag some new members who are just lurking - which would certainly be most refreshing here as well.

I really prefer the images in the main board, they're easy to spot thanks to the title, and provide a nice little fantasy respite here and there from the glaring reality of the newsy threads. If they were sectioned off and heavily censored as on the other site, I'd seldom visit.

No one is talking about censorship here. That's not my point. For people who do not want to view this plethora of images, or wade through them, and simply participate in genuine threads of interests - It's becoming an undesirable chore to do so.

Why have various forums of interest at all then? Let's just throw everything into the pot and you can sort it all out from there.

A separate forum would actually enhance your viewing pleasure.^_^

I would too. Splitting them off would also keep topics on the main page of both forums for a longer time. In addition to Lucky's Place, we could have The Zipper Zone. smile.gif

Good point. Another of my favorite things about this website is the ability to upload pictures, in addition to linking to pictures from other websites. To have those uploaded pictures appear in the post without logging in would, as you say, be another good way to attract new viewers.

Matrix: You obviously feel quite strongly about this as it is not the first time you have raised the issue.

I find it hard to understand how having pics posted in what is currently called "Lucky's....." is making it difficult to wade through the forum to concentrate on the more meaningful subjects, (which frankly, in my opinion, are few & far between). The title of the post, in most cases, gives an indication as to it's pictorial content and if one is not interested, it is a simple matter to skip over them. No one forces anyone else to look at them.

It would appear that I am the culprit here. I find what I consider to be "interesting" pics on the internet and I enjoy sharing the daily catch with others of like minds. However, the last thing I would ever want to do is become a nuisance. If my posting do not interest a significant number of members then I am only too happy to cease and desist - so to speak.

Don't misunderstand this. I am not saying this in a snit. But it does take considerable time to find and post these and if my time is being wasted I'd like to know. So, I'll let the members tell me - post pics or don't post pics. It's your choice guys.

zipper, i, too am a culprit of what Matrix is talking about. I enjoy looking at the "pretty pictures" and like sharing them with others as well. It seems like you and I am the main people who continually post pix here (Tomcal posts in the South America forum).

I understand what he is saying in that the "first page" of topics goes by pretty fast if you and I are having a specially "lucky" day here in lucky's forum. I, for one, would not be opposed to another forum--"Lurker's Zipper" if you will, for posts of the visual nature.

I too will stop with my visual posts if the crowds so deem it...Just speak up and let me know if we (Zipper and myself) should continue with the eyecandy or if we should let it rest..

I do enjoy the pics as well and I think we should keep them in this forum. However, I also agree that we need a pic and video forum. I think once the pics have run their course here for a week or two and have fallen off the first few pages, that we move them to a separate forum that will allow others to find them easily. I know I have went back a few times trying to find some pics and it was hard to find them but if they were centrally located, this may make it easier to find. What do you guys think of this idea?

Also, I think the way things are set up now is that only members can view attachments. I have always thought this was the best way to avoid any issues but I am open to rethink that position as well.

Luther/Zipper - allow me to be more clear!

I love your images and I really do appreciate the time and effort that goes into sharing them here. I really, really do.

Dedicating them to their own forum does not diminish the interest others might have in them nor does it diminish ones great-fullness toward you for posting them.

It just has everything to do with keeping the forum more active with front page posts and defining subject matter in a more concise and desirable manner.

Well, that certainly is your call and I'm sure TY will love the added daily maintenance. But it does not resolve the issue, if there really is an issue here for anyone else, besides from what I experience.

Sounds fine, but wouldn't that take a lot of work? I'm really happy with the way you guys run this website, and I like the fact that you participate fully in the forums. I'd hate to see you spend your time on housekeeping chores, and not be able to enjoy the site yourselves.

Not sure what issues it would avoid, and it sounds like you've thought this through more thoroughly than I have. In all events, I'll be fine with whatever you decide.

As they say, different strokes for different folks. rolleyes.gif

Call me the Party Pooper but I must take exception. We are offering very explicit photos to members. Members must register with a birth date or age. It is not a fool proof age verification scheme but it is an attempt to put people on notice that they must be over eighteen and that they must affirm that via registration.

We do have a age query on our splash page but it is only a check box which is a little less forboding to those who would skirt the rules than membership enrollment.

Is registration fool proof? No. Does it accomplish anything for hot-linked photos? No. It is not perfect but it does put the viewer on record. We could disallow hot-links to tighten up our procedure. We could require registration to access the entire site. We want to do neither.

Is login a burden? Yes, but a pretty miniscule one in the way of things. It is a burden I have to endure as well. Often I check the forums without login. If I see a pic post I groan about login too as it is my responsibility to monitor contributions for impermissable content. However, it goes with the job as login goes with the privilege of viewing photos and vids for members.

Maybe the login requirement is not fool-proof age verification but it is very effective at making me feel better about adding a hurdle to complete participation by people who should not be participating here. If asked the question, I can say "at least we made some attempt".

Did I mention that I have actually enjoyed this perspective in person -- sitting between his legs as he hovered over me in the nude, dick in hand. He's got a great rose bud too. B)B)B)

As you can tell, an event emblazoned in my memory. :o

I cannot disagree with this but I have even another take different from the others.

I think to be able to view the pics without logging in does not help attract more users it makes it easier for them not to get involved in the forum community. I think if someone goes through the two minute sign up process and logs in they might actually participate as well as view the uploaded photos.

Regarding a separate forum for photos I think there are some valid points. Not so much that they get in the way in Lucky's place but they do push posts off the front page quicker and posts push photos off the front page quicker as well.

I appreciate all the pics everybody posts I know it can be time consuming. I try to acknowledge some of the hotter guys pics that are posted when I can. But even when I don't I find them quite ummm stimulating :P

Besides we have Luck's Place how can we not have a dedicated forum called Zipper Zone ... Matrix what a great name. Or a step further Lurker's Zipper Zone :o

Anyway, on this topic whatever OZ and TY decide I support.

As one of the "guilty" parties here, I post a fair share of Photos and videos. Mine are exclusive to the latin America forum and to a lesser extent the European forum, I can say I prefer to have my photos associated with the post that tells the time/place/etc. where they are part of! Going thru the other forums I have never thought of it as being a problem either clicking or not clicking on the photo links... but I'am happy to go with what ever TY and OZ decide. :-)

I wholeheartedly concur with having pics and vids set up in their own separate forum or sub-forum. The eye candy is great and I appreciate the people like zipperzone and lurker who take the time to share it with us, and I don't see how having those posts go into a separate forum would in any way diminish their contributions. Obviously, I don't think anyone wants things to get too anal-retentive and prevent folks from posting pics in a 'conversation thread' like this one (as lookin did above), or from initiating a discussion as a response to an eye-candy post but I sure would also find having two separate forum would generally be more convenient.

You see this is where it can get really fuzzy. I have to agree with the niche photos and links that tomcal posts I find it much easier to locate them in the south america forum. They belong there not in a multimedia forum in my opinion. So I guess where do you draw the line so to speak?

The more I think about it if I have a vote (in my fantasy I sit on the board of MER INC :P ) I vote to keep it the way it is now. Sorry for the slight flip flop ... maybe I would make a good politician :o

Tomcal,

Your posts are theme specific in addtion to appealing to our sense of beauty and our innate attribute of lust. They would be like ducks out of water if moved. That will never happen. We would keep all posts in theme-related forums in place. It makes no sense to do otherwise.

Aces,

This is Ralph Woods who I first encountered two weeks after he turned 18. He was dancing at Adonis in Montreal. He has gone on to porn, big time.

I have never known him to escort and I have never heard tell that he has.

All excellent and valid points. One's I did not consider because I have no liability here in the event something were to unexpectedly pop up. (pun intended) ^_^

It is better to be overly "exegesis" of possible legal ramifications than it is to be caught with your pants down and then have to take something up the ass you'd rather not. :D

You know we already have a 'theme forum' dedicated to hot guys. It is called The Buffet, orginally intended to post pics about and discuss escorts and other hot guys. True, we haven't had a lot of discussion about escorts on a frequent basis. Nevertheless, all hot guys, escorts or not, are still hot guys, muscle beef or candy twinks.

I used to move such theme posts to The Buffet back in the early days. However, it became clear that some preferred to post in The Pub, now Lucky's place, so I figured let them post where they wish.

Now we talk of adding a forum devoted to the display and expostion of these treats. Why add another new forum. We can always change the name if that is of consequence.

Does anyone salute this alternative? Would it be more palatable if we killed The Buffet and created a new forum: Pic's & Vids?? Do we actually need to increase the number of forums? We can always move it up first in the list if that makes a difference.

Just a possibility for you to consider.
