We know each other pretty well by now, so when someone new comes along, it's a welcome thing. New blood so to speak if you are into that vampire stuff. But, we also have many "guests" who view the forums, but stay silent. Well, this is an invitation. Please sign up, and start participating. Just as you might like to see what people are saying, we like to know what you are thinking. And, if you add your thoughts, you just might encourage another lurker to sign up too. Since god sent me away from Paradise for giving his apple back to him, I rarely look at the other site. But, when I do, I see all of these new names that weren't there before. My suspicion is that these are folks who made a point during one of the meltdowns that they were leaving, but really just came back under another name. So, if they don't have the balls to follow through and really leave, then I doubt they would register here. I think the posters that have made a success of posting on both sites, such as MsGuy, for one example, have made real contributions to both sites. It's people like him that we are lookin to attract, whether from the other site or brand new. There's is no reason you have to leave one to use the other, unless, of course that is your preference. But, it makes it tough for people to participate when some of the long-time old farts sling arrows and make you feel totally unwelcome. I don't come here to have my posts blasted. So, I'm usually one of the registered lurkers. And, I've stopped posting reviews after one of MER's finest read my positive review, hired the excellent escort, and then tried to blackmail him. I felt terrible when that happened and I swore I would never do another review. Plus, there are some posters here and there that love to dissect a review and question the accuracy of the escort and the reviewer. Sorry, I don't want to play those games. I've been lucky enough to find some excellent escorts. But I'm keeping them to myself and I'm keeping my posts here infrequent. This is not a real friendly environment. Well, I don't want to blast your post- I have always liked you- but I think most of us are friendly and know enough to ignore certain digs that get thrown. None of us is perfect, but overall I think this is a friendly place. A locker room atmosphere sometimes prevails, but we get through it, usually with humor. As for the person blackmailing the escort you reviewed, I'd condemn that too, but I know nothing of the event. I doubt very much from posting with you all these years that you would make such an accusation lightly. I am sorry to hear it and ask that you don't hold it against the rest of us. I use a different name on this site from the one I use on the "other" site but it isn't to hide any thing. I just thought it appropriate to register using a different name at the time, sort of like using a different password for different accounts. However, I sign with the same close as the other site, therefore, anyone who knows me from the other site will also know me on this one. It is just part of the environment as much as air and water are. Unfortunate but true. One has to either address or ignore them and participate with those of interest. Thin skins won't be comfortable. What I find interesting, as an observer, is that the anonymous environment doesn't always thicken up those thin skins. Its one thing to deal with confrontation in person or with a real identity and another to interact through a keyboard behind a screen name. That anonymity is what I attribute so much online prickliness to. Nevertheless, it doesn't always seem to work that way. The above statement is not true and not based on facts. I do believe that OneFinger believed this to be true as I am sure this was told to him by the escort in question. However, this escort was the most problematic escort we ever had to deal with on this site. OneFinger's review was not read by someone who then hired him and tried to blackmail the escort. The two had a preexisting relationship and they did not meet because of a review on MER but they met at a strip club in California. I don't know how much of the blackmail scenario to believe as the escort in question is someone I would not believe or trust in any situation. If the story of the boy who cried wolf means anything. Unlike TY, I do care if someone is unhappy with the board. But, to condemn the board because of something they believed to be true without ever consulting or talking to us is not really fair to the board. I am always willing to listen to complaints and try to mend the fences. But, there is only so much I can do with limited information. When the above statement was made, I spent over 10 hours trying to find information and piece together the puzzle even though no name was mentioned. That means I read through hundreds of reviews and even more e-mails. I did that only to get at the truth behind the statement and to try to let OneFinger know that we would have acted should his information have been correct. It was not correct. The statement that was made above is not accurate. I am sorry that OneFinger feels slighted by this situation. I am sure TY's comments above don't help. An infrequent poster chose to slur us based on faulty information he was convinced was true. To remove the thread would only give false credence that there is something here. If the escort was blackmailed that is wrong and unfortunate for him. He has legal remedies although they may not be practical for him to pursue. If there was something we could do we would be supportive. I do not know what that would be. The escort has never contacted us in any way about any blackmail episode.
