TotallyOz Posted April 27, 2012 Share Posted April 27, 2012 I have been to KL several times and enjoy my stay there. The gay scene is not as open as Thailand or other places in the area. You can find gay massage boys for sex and they are sexy and adorable but it is not as open as other countries nearby. Even the gay places I went were not easy to find and mostly by word of month. It is a Muslin country and some of the homophobic ideas are apparent. That being said, I have several friends from there who are gay and have no problems. I have no doubt your friend is correct. The men are different in every Asian country. Cambodians are quite different from the Vietnamese and from Laos but they are more or less alike in Buddhism being the religion. As OZ says KL is mostly Muslim so gays have been repressed for many years and only recently have some of the Dragonian laws changed. KL is a nice place to visit but it pales in comparison to BKK in every way that I can think of and especially in the availability of men for sex for pay and for free. If you were going to spend 30 days in SE Asia and sex was one of your main focuses. I would spend 2 days in KL, 3 in Cambodia, 4 in Vietnam, 2 in Laos and 19 days in Thailand. If you want to look for boys in KL, there are 2 easy ways without going to massage places (mostly in Cheras): 1 Turn on Grindr in Bukit Bintang area. Many topless guys who give their mobile number in their profile are escorts, the rest normal people. 2. Gayromeo (or planetromeo since gayromeo is blocked in Malaysia). Go to Users and view the recently registered profiles. 90% of profiles with topless photos are escorts. You can tell when they put down their mobile number as well.
