LOL. TY, I think your memory is getting a bit fuzzy. Don't you recall regulation's screaming names at people who contradicted him, until his eventual hysterical breakdown online in which he called me every obcenity he could think of? He disappeared for a little after that, and then returned as woodlawn and avoided any interaction with me.

I believe the escort you remember was Ethan from DC, who paraded his intellect as proudly as his enormous cock.

Now that you mention that episode, yes i do. Reggie came back as Woodlawn with on even haughtier perch looking down even further on the masses. Near Woodie's end, he called me names too when I tripped him up, catching him explicitly in his Woodie/Pickwick sham, and also catching him in a lie, both by his own words. That was his covering exit when he was embarrassed by exposure.

For the record, Reggie/Woodie had two earlier incarnations, neither handle I recall right now. The first was leaving as I was coming onto the boards, and the second was my first engagement with him. I only knew they were the same when HB exposed it in a moment of pique or exasperation. I believe the total number of identities credited to him numbered 22, many active at the same time. That was from an authoritative source.

However, there were some very stimulating exchanges that some of us had with him without the name calling. Both Reg/Woodie and Doug would roll out names either quickly to insult the newbies or casual posters too send them on their way and then gloat or as pointed out by yourself when they had been bested to embarrassment. But once you engaged them and drew serious blood they dropped that tact because it challenged them to stand their ground on an intellectual basis which they seemed to relish until bested. Both were always out to show their superiority. Besting them was not easy to do, they were terribly resilient and slippery in their tactics when cornered, not to mention smart.

The escort, not Ethan, originally came from SFO, drove East to set up shop in RI before having a scrape with the law while living out of his car I believe. The trip was chronicled on the boards.

I believe he shortly after retired and went home to Texas. I do recall big-dick Ethan, now that you mention him. He was feisty and proud of his pump handle too. :D Not shy about entering into sharp debate.

Thanks for refreshing my memories, Charlie.

That was three days ago and it was one of only 3 or 4 posts I've made in 2 years since I left. I went on earlier today just to look because you had mentioned that Scott Adler had returned and I was curious what he had to say now. But in general I no longer choose or want to post on that site. I think the dialog is very unhealthy and frankly doesn't interest me. And the post that I responded to that you linked above was about a play coming to LA that I would be interested in seeing since I was unaware of it. And just because the blocked threads are the most popular doesn't make it a healthy discussion or one that someone should participate in. . .especially me.

Actually you've authored 12 posts since 5/1/12, with 4 of them coming in the last 6 days. That's 8 more posts in 10 weeks than you credit yourself for in 2 years.

Tanks for the mammaries! His stage name was Devon Blackwell. Just astounding the integrity of his blog, even as he descended into meth-fueled bipolar disorder during that cross-country trip. And then got into recovery. All faithfully chronicled by him, right out in public.

Thanks also for the pinpoint accuracy of your limning the enormously gratifying rewards of interacting with Woodlawn and doug69. Would that their ilk were more abundant these latter days.

I will be offline for the next couple of weeks. I will be very interested to see how this discussion has developed while I'm gone.

Cityline1, daresay no one knows Doug 69 and Woodlawn, who was Regulation before that and had alteregos like Pickwick to name one, better than me. Anyone who was around HooBoy's in those days knows that. I engaged each in several very tough, sharp exchanges during those years. Those exchanges were exciting in a way that a knife fight is exciting. However, we did not tend to wallow in name calling, we engaged sharp back and forth of views based on fact and opinion that sought to discredit the opponent's argument and its intellectual underpinning. There was little quarter given.

Not that I was the only one, there were several others, as well, that contributed to the mix, including an escort in that time who was as intellectually and argumentatively challenging as anyone I recall participating on the boards -- I fail to recall his name now. And yes there were a number of very sharp escorts who participated on the boards from time to time. Not many but a few who were particularly resilient in their egos, attitudes, and feeling of security. Most would not submit themselves to the controversy, and often abuse, because they felt it affected their livelihood.

We do not ban such discussion as long as it remains in forum policy bounds. We ban agendas and stalkers and never-ending gratuitous cheap shots. Some may find that interesting but usually not the targets and usually not me. I got over playground taunts a while back.

So bring on the intellectual exchanges with sharp edges if you can find someone with the passion to join the fray but please don't stir up passions with cheap name calling that goes nowhere else. I'm not singling you out as an example, only using you as a rhetorical device to make my point.

The exchanges were fueled by the participation of the posters mentioned. Yourself, OZ, Hooboy most definitely, and many that I can't remember, certainly added to the flavor.

Most importantly, these boards (and site traffic) need to attract new members. I believe that going after (I have no idea how) younger members and escorts is a step in the right direction. Clearly Boy Toy will attract more members in the same way that heated, banned threads, attract current viewers.

OK guys! We are down to a few more logos that I really like. Just for me, as a favor, ;) can you go to this link and vote for any you like or don't like. Your input would be most appreciated.

#144, as reflected by the voting, is THE one.

I like 144, but still am not crazy about re-naming the site boytoy. I don't have the issue with the actual name boytoy, I just dont get where it relates to male escorts/reviews/etc..

I see that as more of a "twink" related site instead of an escort related site..

Just voted. I liked the one that is #1 so far. I find it interesting, as someone else mentioned, that a site like this even wants its members input.

I for one would love a twink angle. It might provoke me to restart the Atkins Diet.

As OZ told us, he already purchased the domain, and plans to use it. I think Boy Toy might catch on.

Don't like ANYTHING associated with boytoy.

Unfortunately, it appears that's not a concern for the admins. :(

What would it take for you to rethink your decision???

And, yes, I'm serious about the question.

Read the first post in the thread. I'm a bit tired of saying that nothing has been decided for sure. So, just read the full thread again and start from the first post please.

Am I wrong in the understanding that you've bought the BoyToy site that's where this site is going?

Perhaps I've missed something in the discussion. But I was under the impression that this site was going to be BoyToy without reguard to other input.

Is this site going to become BoyToy?????

Onefinger, what I take from the thread is yes, Oz has bought the boytoy name and is planning on using it. But it is not necessarily going to be to replace this site.. Please correct me if I misinterpreted

I really don't care if Oz starts another site for BoyToy. But if he replaces this site with BoyToy, that will probably cause me to depart from here. :(

OneFinger, one thing I have learned over the years is that anytime a change in a site happens, you loose some of the members. People are fascinating and seem to want things to stay the same but improve at the same time.

It is often a very impossible task. You can't please everyone all the time. You can always try to make your members know now valuable they are and how much you appreciate them. And, we do! But, sometimes in order for something better to come, you have to make changes that will make some unhappy. As always (and you should know this from member a member here) we always listen and we are always open to discuss things.

So, did you have a name in mind with instant recogination that I can afford?

I had heard that you bought a lot of names with Hooboy in them. So how about just Hooboy's, or Hooboy House. Boys to Men, Maletoy or Malemen, Men of Oz- probably already taken- maleescorts.com, menundressed, com or even Luckymen.com!

haha I thought you were against the name hooboy.com years ago?

The names you mentioned were all nice. Thank you. I wonder if any of them as recognizable as boytoy? I only ask because the less familiar a name, the more you spend in advertising to brand a name.

Oz, surely you don't see me a a person who is so rigid that he cannot change his mind over the years or when new facts are presented. No one said that changing the name would be easy, and no one said it would be cheap. Just because you like the boytoy name, and perhaps have paid good money for it, does not mean that it is the right choice for this site.

I appreciated your input on what is going on behind the scenes. But please don't dig your heels in just because you bought a name that you like. A good name will pay for itself over time, right?

Of course people can change their mind over time. Thank goodness for that! Otherwise, I never would have had sex with men. Luckily, I saw the light over time but I was a late bloomer!

I never dig my heels in. Well, almost never!

Names usually pay for themselves unless you overpay.
