This time a 39 year old transgender woman was apprehended at a condominium in Pattaya’s Nong Prue district, following allegations of theft in the middle of the night. The victim, a 40 year old Indian tourist, reported the loss of a gold bracelet worth 200,000 baht. The incident occurred around 9pm yesterday in a small alley in Pattaya’s Walking Street area. The police, led by Piyapong Ensan, Deputy Director of Pattaya City Police Station, and Thananon Athipansi, a Tourist Police officer, identified Saranpat Bowornkitnusorn from CCTV footage, leading to her arrest. Saranpat denied the allegations, claiming she had just woken up Kolal Avisake without stealing anything. However, police were sceptical due to her criminal history, as she was previously arrested for theft in 2020. Despite her denial, the police have proceeded with the case, reported KhaoSod. During the investigation, the police reviewed the CCTV footage and found a person with a feminine appearance committing the theft near a cannabis shop on Walking Street. The police traced the suspect’s escape route and discovered that Saranpat was staying at the mentioned condominium. “The suspect confessed to being the person in the CCTV footage, but denied stealing the tourist’s bracelet, claiming she only woke him up.” The lack of trust in Saranpat’s statement is due to her criminal record, as she was arrested for theft in 2020. The police are continuing their investigation, and the suspect remains in custody. In related news, the Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau (IDMB) arrested a Thai transwoman for stealing goods valued at 40,000 baht from a Danish businessman and an attempt to extort a further 35,000 baht from the victim using blackmail. Seongmu Heo, 51, and his Thai friend, Ms. Surat Kongin, 43, took the incident to The Pattaya News on January 16th. They claimed that Mr. Seongmu was robbed by a group of three transgender women near Soi 5-6 on Pattaya Beach on January 11th. Ms. Surat stated to The Pattaya News that Mr. Seongmu traveled to Pattaya on January 1st, 2024. On January 11th, he had finished dinner on Soi 2 and decided to go for a walk at the beach around 8 PM. Then Mr. Seongmu described a group of three transgender women approaching him and asking if he wanted to accompany them for erotic services, which he declined. They subsequently attempted to hug him, to which Mr. Seongmu responded by pushing them away. The group then left; however, upon checking his neck later, Mr. Seongmu discovered that his 5-baht-weight gold necklace, worth over 190,000 baht, was missing. The Korean tourist immediately reported the theft to Pattaya Police. However, Mr. Seongmu alleged that he was later informed by the police that the crime scene area did not have a CCTV camera and that the police still weren’t able to find the suspects. Disappointed with the police response and the lack of leads, Mr. Seongmu publicly urged the police to prioritize his case and apprehend the suspects as soon as possible. I wonder , even if all is true why the hell anybody, guy specially , needs to carry on himself gold necklace ? I never had on myself any piece of gold and survived to this day being called KFC man right , left and center. Certainly nobody gets white hair for being stupid. Inside the posh (everything is relative, of course) hotel, it wasn't a problem. But the evening we were to go out for the conference dinner, the event leader suggested that he not wear it. I overheard a bit of the conversation. He explained that the chain had been blessed by his priest and he was to wear it at all times for protection or something like that. So, sometimes we shouldn't apply cold rationality to such issues. People have reasons for doing what they do. However, as I write this, I cannot recall whether that chap finally took the conference leader's advice or stuck to his priest's edict.
